The pyramids are on my things-to-do-before-I-die list. Thanks for giving me a glimpse of the breathtaking architecture. I need to save more pennies so i can go soon!
they are truly breathtaking. the whole site is. I didn’t get to do Tulum or Coba so I’m going to head back in the next couple of years (especially since this cold toronto weather is killing me… 😉
Thanks for your photos spiderleaf! I do hope to get to South America someday, also. That huge civilizations existed there before and during the rise of “the western civilizations” is not lost on me. All of history is worth knowing. And monumental architecture has been an interest of mine for a long time.
Thanks again for sharing. I do also enjoy that perspective on Toronto from great heights. Very nicely captured.
The only time I was in the CN tower was a long [magic mushrooms] time ago at a Grateful Dead free concert in Coronation? park. A nice pic from a world famous structure. Been there [TO] many times but was based in Montreal during the Vietnam war. Both beautiful cities. The buildings of the Ancients are terrific.
I did! It was brutal going up… the steps are really small and close together (smaller Mayan feet) & they just keep going and going and going… I shot the vista of the other temple (the columns in the foreground and off to the side each represent a warrior) from the top of the main pyramid.
… getting down on those short little steps was another matter entirely. 😉
merci infidel, it means a lot to me to see you around and your kind words… it’s been an interesting time on the site and one that I think is necessary and productive… glad you were able to drop by in the nick of time 🙂

— to spiderleaf for the excellent photos and squeaking in to be the last diary.
— to katiebird for getting the photos loaded and the diary created so that we would all get to enjoy spiderleaf’s photos.

I wanna go to Mexico! Did you climb those steps? I know so many people who’ve climbed them at different sites, but I’m too scared to.

Some great shots. I _love_ the tropical palm tree Cancun shot. Can’t take the heat, but love the scene.
oh spidey, you bring music to my heart, and it sounds like this, ” I See your True Colors Shining Through” ; )
peace friend, and it shows in your work, writings, and true color emitted from your soul…
