Wilson breaks silence on Plamegate.

Joe Wilson has broken his silence on Plamegate to some extent to write about the way their lives were changed by Rove and Libby’s treason and the outing of his wife Valerie.

The right-wingers talk all the time about how they are so pro-family. The Fundamentalists label bills as either pro-family or anti-family. But what the Bush administration did was blatantly anti-family. Therefore, when the right-wingers talk about family values, they are simply not credible, unless they acknowledge that what Rove and Libby did was wrong.

CA-48: Indictments,Crooks and Enough is Enough

Enough is Enough!

Scooter Libby, not only directly connected to the Veep but also not well reported a special assistant to the President, is headed to the Slams. The Veep is under investigation. Rove is not only under investigation but is forming his own legal team and has retained a PR firm from Colorado that is expert in crisis management.

Tom Delay apparently has a hair stylist, makeup artist and smile coach for his arraignment mug-shot and acts as if he is still in charge of the House of Representatives.

Senator Bill Frist, a Doctor, makes diagnosis via video and now has a ‘blind’ trust whose Trustee’s report directly to him at least once. And he’s under investigation.

Changing Dynamics in the Iraq War

During the past three days, the US lost 8 more soldiers in the Iraq war. Expect the Bush administration to caution that, now that the campaign has begun for the planned December parliamentary elections, the insurgency will once again escalate. The problem is that it doesn’t seem to have slowed down now for a very long time, regardless of how much Bush would like to convince people otherwise by putting a happy face sticker in the “progress” column. That reality is now being voiced by more and more soldiers.

The old lie that “if you don’t support the war, you don’t support the troops” must be put to rest – for good.

Via AP:

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — More than half of North Carolina military members surveyed in the latest Elon University poll disapprove of President Bush’s handling of the war in Iraq and his overall job performance.

Nearly 53 percent of military members said they strongly disapproved or disapproved of Bush’s handling of his job. And just more than 56 percent of that same group strongly disapproved or disapproved of how he has dealt with the Iraq war.

This is Bush’s war that those soldiers are fighting for him and they have lost confidence in their Commander-in-Chief. Surely, they can’t all be liberal peace freaks as the delusional warmongers would have you believe.

Libby’s Arraignment Judge: Reggie Walton

cross-posted from my blog

Like any good Plameaholic, I was poring over the various news reports of Scooter’s indictment and discovered that Judge Reggie Walton will be presiding over the arraignment.  So, who is Reggie Walton?  Well, I couldn’t get to Walton’s bio page, but the cached copy informs us that

Judge Reggie B. Walton assumed his position as a United States District Judge for the District of Columbia on October 29, 2001, after being nominated to the position by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the United States Senate. Judge Walton previously served as an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia from 1981 to 1989 and 1991 to 2001, having been appointed to that position by Presidents Ronald Reagan in 1981 and George H. W. Bush in 1991. While serving on the Superior Court, Judge Walton was the court’s Presiding Judge of the Family Division, Presiding Judge of the Domestic Violence Unit and Deputy Presiding Judge of the Criminal Division. Between 1989 and 1991, Judge Walton served as President George H. W. Bush’s Associate Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy in the Executive Office of the President and as President Bush’s Senior White House Advisor for Crime.

Don’t throw your monitor out the window just yet; Walton seems to be quite a mixed bag.
