The small diary-display size for the images has two purposes:

  • The committee understands that many Bootribers use dial-up connections and we wanted them to experience the full fun of the fair.
  • And the display requirements of the site software meant that we couldn’t allow gigantic megapixal photographs — we had to have some size limit.

So we decided to have a single standard (150px wide/ 40kb file-size).

But, please notice this:

Everyone is encouraged to use display-images as a thumbnail link to a full size image if you feel the small size doesn’t do justice to your photograph.

We know that all the resizing and linking could be difficult for some participants.

And that is why the committee has worked out the details of posting images for anyone, everyone who would like us to do it for them.

Iraq Bases, Halliburton-Outsourced and Outsourced..

Or just another BUSHCO Pyramid Scam done on the backs of the meek and poor? Using OUR taxes and the sweat of cheap poor countries’ labor, Halliburton’s sub-contractors hide more abuses, money and outrages.

Blood, Sweat & Tears:
Asia’s Poor Build U.S. Bases in Iraq

Prime Projects International (PPI) of Dubai, is a major, but low-profile, subcontractor to Halliburton’s multi-billion-dollar deal with the Pentagon to provide support services to U.S. forces.

KKK in NOLA :: How many ni····s have you shot today!

.
WHITE MAN’S VIOLENCE IN NEW ORLEANS!

Just listened to Dutch radio, local time 10:40am, a Dutch photographer reported this as a witness account in Katrina aftermath in New Orleans.

The leader of the KKK was as vigilante active in the neighborhoods of the flood stricken city of New Orleans. In groups, the KKK men were driving around in their pick-ups. When they came together, the men were bragging how many niggers they managed to shoot.

The photographer, Kadir van Lohuizen, witnessed numerous dead bodies with gunshot wounds.

This is a story still developing, will not be covered in the coming issue of TIME magazine.

Can anyone corroborate this story with other reports or unsubstantiated rumors? Still need a second source, I trust BooTribers in the relief effort will respond. There was a city blogger active throughout the hectic, lawlessness days after the devastation of Katrina. Was there anything in his reporting that anyone recalls in support of this story?

Will add translation later.

Get Zogby to Poll on Impeachment Questions

there’s a lovely little diary up at dailykos calling on Zogby to ask impeachment-related questions.

Everyone should visit the website contained within.

You might recall back on September 22, 2005, when I told you about how Impeach Bush Coalition member Luke Ryland of the blog Wot is it Good 4 had finally managed to get Zogby International to admit that it would not poll the national public on impeachment related issues again unless simebody hired Zogby to do so (or unless Congress raised the impeachment idea again)

…Well finally, the IBC has joined up with Luke and AfterDowningStreet.org to raise money so that we can pool donations together to hire at least one mainstream pollster to go out and survey the public on impeachment related questions.

Some folks wouldn’t recognize tyranny if it jumped up and bit them on the ass

Cross-posted at dailyKos (where there has been a lot of DLC style centrism afoot!)

Since the beginning of the Bush regime, we’ve established that

o  President Bush can order American citizens held incommunicado without any charge, indefinitely

o  President Bush can order the execution without any trial of an American citizen in a car in Yemen

o  President Bush can approve the torture of prisoners or have them ‘disappeared’ to other countries where they will be tortured

o  President Bush can divert funds allocated by Congress for one war for waging another war

o  President Bush has the power to wage war against another country without a declaration of war and without proving that the situation was a dire emergency

tyr·an·ny
NOUN:
pl. tyr·an·nies
A government in which a single ruler is vested with absolute power.
