Eighty-two percent of Iraqi’s oppose occupation

So about those hearts and minds… how is that going again?

Forty-five percent of Iraqis believe attacks on U.S. and British troops are justified, according to a secret poll said to have been commissioned by British defense leaders and cited by The Sunday Telegraph.

Less than 1 percent of those polled believed that the forces were responsible for any improvement in security, according to poll figures.

CA-48th: Two Weeks Before the Final Push

In the CA-48th the final push for victory will come starting November 9. That’s the day after Gov. Muscles Statewide Special Election that is filled with toxic proposistions.

Until that is over the Unions, the Democratic Clubs, the volunteer base that we would rely on are fully engaged in a war, and I do mean war over that election. After that is over it is our hope that the SEIU, The Unions in general and our Democratic  Base can immediately suck in a little more oxygen and give us the help we need.

Moving Letters To Cindy: We are not numbers

Cindy Sheehan shares some moving letters sent to her by families of American soldiers who have died in Iraq.

My cousin, “brave soldier”, 30, originally of Indiana, was one of the five U.S. soldiers killed on Saturday, October 15th — Iraq’s ‘peaceful day.’ He is survived by his wife, his two children, his parents, his sister, our grandma, his aunt, his two uncles and his two cousins. We are currently awaiting confirmation per dna identification. (continues…)

After listing Miller’s many failures: her non-stop ego, her complete lack of discipline, her inability to obey her superiors, her devotion and defense of Ahmed Chalabi – even in the face of public knowledge about his lies, her contempt and disregard for her editors and colleagues, her questionable journalistic ethics, her outright lies, and her stonewalling of Patrick Fitzgerald’s investigation, Dowd rightly concludes:

Judy told The Times that she plans to write a book and intends to return to the newsroom, hoping to cover “the same thing I’ve always covered – threats to our country.” If that were to happen, the institution most in danger would be the newspaper in your hands.

The sharks are circling all around Judith Miller and, unless there is some divine intervention from wherever divine intervention comes from for her, it looks like it’s time to stick a fork in her. She’s done.
