Operation Yellow Feather got off to a great start yesterday. Thanks to the hard work of Man Eegee, Sally Cat, Military Tracy, Brinnainne, Cabin Girl, Jimstrano, MLR, Connecticut Man 1, Duke1676, Alohaleezy and the entire Booman Tribune Community. (Forgive me Spaghetti Monster for I know I have sinned in forgetting others, who shall be named as soon as they remind feeble me of their awesome contributions). Into the wee hours, our message got out to the entire progressive blogosphere as I know it. Who would have thunk it?
But maybe it is too early to be landing on any aircraft carrier. Is it time to do more to publicize “Operation Yellow Feather?”
Or is it time to lay low? I know you are tired. Up from the early hours until the wee hours of the evening. Working jobs. Taking care of kids. Trying to plan for Thanksgiving Day feasts. But do we give this project more effort? Or just let it go? Let the inertia take control and the world do with it what it will? I’m only asking. I’m unsure how to follow up yesterday. This project has come full circle. Back to calling on the community for suggestions. It worked the first time. So let me know.
First a HUGE thank you to you and all who helped get feathers in the air.
My suggestion is to contact the Cincinnati and Columbus newspapers and local tv stations. Send your diary and ask them to follow up.
Perhaps there are Democratic committees in both cities in OH that would be inspired by what you have done. They might follow up as well, building locally.
Another newspaper and tv station to share what you have done would be where Murtha’s district office is located in Johnstown, PA.
I am sorry to pass this back instead of doing these myself. I need to leave for work shortly. I will be glad to do them later in the day when I get home. However, I think it would be more effective if it was done as soon as possible, thereby possibly getting on the evening news and in tomorrow’s papers.
Again, thank you.
Those are excellent suggestions. And not difficult to execute. I will get on them today, at some point. Unless someone beats me to the punch. (Hoping for really fast punchers in the audience).
I want to also thank Connecticut Man 1 and Duke1676 for making sure the diaries got attention at the different sites. Duke sent a Yellow Feather Flare up at My Left Wing and CM1 spread his cool comments all over the blogosphere. You all rock!
I’ll give a progress report in a few
I’ve added their names. How could I forget. Curse this rotting flesh. Thanks Manny.

Day Two, where next?
Manny. I decided to follow up on day two based on an article in the Cincinnati Enquirer. We’ve got them on the run. Here is new “Day 2” diary. Should we promote it in same way?
I’ll work something up for the other sites where I have my diary crossposted. We can start the coordination for another BooSwarm at DKos
I wonder if we shouldn’t Booswarm at 2:30 pm EST. Get the West Coast before lunch. More chance of an immediate impact today. Or is that too short a time frame, you think?
LET’S DO IT! 2:30pm EST it is!
with the Day 2 diary, I can’t believe these Chicken Hawks.
Here’s a code you can insert at the very top of the diary to put the yellow feather, copy it exactly as it shows before any of your text; it should work. (cross the fingers)

Done. Looks like I’ve got some things to learn about graphics. But thanks Manny. If you can think of anything additional I can do to tune it up, just let me know.
The birds are in the air. Repeat. The birds are in the air. Orange phase of Yellow Feather commences in “T” minus 15. That’s 1430 for you civilians.
That’s T minus 8. (FSM, I need a life).
n/t
(don’t you love when people put the n/t in the body of the text instead of the subject line?
O:-D
Feathers away. Pull up and return to base for damage assessment.
Must get food. Will return shortly. Great job again today 🙂
Me too. Meet me in the mess tent. I want one of those FBC dishes. See you in a bit.
You’ve got the helm, Manny. Helm? Or is it Conn?
I’m out until late, then after break. Give the lead to anyone who will take it. Try to finish off day two strong.
Talk to you. Nice work ladies and gentleman. Nice work.
