You have to remind us? But I just got my new digital toy – a Canon 20D, so once the battery charges, I’ll be playing with that and forgetting for a minute or two that I have to go to work tomorrow. 🙁
WOW!!!!! I am envious. So, you’ll be posting some pics for us once the battery is charged?
I’ve been working for the past 2 days, and am looking forward to finally being able to goof off after I send my project off tomorrow morning…too bad I have to study for my oncology quiz on Tuesday.
Arrggh that sucks that you had to work. I’ve had 4 work days off and it was lovely. 🙂
And as for test photos, you’ll need to check out this photo album… Imageshack won’t let me upload the photos because they are too big and I don’t want to redo the resolutions just yet.
It does take lovely photos. I hope for more photo ops (than just my cats and BF) this week. I’m not a fan of the flash, but hopefully I’ll get an external flash to override it.
Will do. I thought the mums came out really well too. It’ll make for good Garden Blogging next year.
If you want a good start for finding a digital camera, I’d go to http://www.dpreview.com/. They are generally unbiased and I like the user reviews. Plus it is really comprehensive.
The boys are good, had a nice loong lazy week off from school, and now they have to go back in the morning. ugh. I’m not sure I want to get up that early again! 🙂
I always judged a job by how I felt about it on Sunday night. If I couldn’t bear to think about it, it was perhaps time to look at other opportunities.
Say, I haven’t seen Valerie P. in a while. I hope she’s alright…. her teenagers come around every night, and so do Kashi and her 4 kids. (I named her Kashi after the crackers and cereal that she loves so much.)
Last night, the kids got a treat. I got a Marie Callendar frozen razzleberry pie on sale at Safway. Hey, that’s really good pie! Tart! Not too sweet, and it’s vewy bewwy tasting. Darcy insisted on vanilla ice cream too.
Darcy thinks it’s not right that I use my mom’s china to feed the raccoons, but isn’t it sillier to just put ice cream on the grass? Wouldn’t that be too hard for them to eat?
So, I took a china plate, and mashed a piece of pie all around the plate (so that more mouths can feast at once) … then put dollops of ice cream on top.
All gone! And quickly too!
(Yes, I wash the dishes in very hot water and use a bit of bleach. )
You are spoiling those critters! For Marie Callendar frozen razzleberry pie with vanilla ice cream I might crawl out of the woods and sit on your lawn too! That’s my favorite pie. You can keep your old rhubarb and gooseberry! ;-D
Noooooo! The tartness is why rhubarb and gooseberry pies are so good too!
(Half the reason I give them stuff like that I that I get a chuckle out of it, and the two men who live next door think it’s a hoot! They tease me about my “zoo.”)
btw, i mostly give them nutritious stuff. Dog food and a few nuts and raisins + lots of peanut butter sandwiches.
We had the best weekend- drove down to New Mexico and hiked through the petroglyphs on Thanksgiving Day. Then we drove around to some outstanding archaeological sites. I want my own Kiva.
We didn’t hit any traffic (except for Colorado Springs, because that’s like driving through a sphincter on the best days). Now we’re printing up photos of petroglyphs for Christmas presents.
Did I mention that New Mexico has the most incredible sky?
Big Sky (and not just in in Montana) is fabulous…. it’s a vista we don’t see here as much … although Darcy is getting her own special view today, hiking up in the Olympic mountains.
“Driving through a sphincter.” What a perfect description–on multiple levels–of traversing the Springs!
I’ve been trying ever since my first road trip to Taos to adequately describe the New Mexico sky. While Colorado skies tend toward an exuberant shade of blue, New Mexico’s are more subtle and somehow mystical. The landscape seems to shimmer.
There are times when we crest a hill that I feel we’re about to drive directly into the sky. It not only shimmers, but it envelops us in light the way winter in Alaska made dark timeless.
OK, I find myself defending BooMan and the absinthe ad and now Soj over on another site. Is Soj a woman? I’m almost 99 percent certain Soj I read Soj is a woman, but someone says otherwise.
I have no link but I could swear I saw a picture somewhere and it was of a woman. Then again knowing what little I do of her, I doubt there would be any photos anywhere, leaving me scratching my head more than you.
I think Soj is a woman too .. but I can’t tell you why I got that impression.
I love the absinthe ad. It’s a very special product with a wild history. And, as I wrote here somewhere recently, I found out what breasts are for when I had a baby: They make milk! Also: She’s a lusty-looking attractive woman, and it’d be a sad day when we frowned on people looking sexy and lusty.
Go to the likely place (three guesses and the first two don’t count), use the site’s search engine to find recent comments by Carnacki, and then open the whole thread. At that point I searched the thread itself for “Carnacki” and found the entire discussion (it makes more sense reading it that way). Not pretty. Sigh.
But I woke up thinking of how to launch a campaign to take back America. Not just waste this opportunity by ‘strategizing’ and voting in Republicans willing to run as Democrats, or progressives who hate liberals — but really take back the country.
I had a few ideas for ad and education campaigns that could attack the GOP on multiple fronts, and get the American people not just willing to go along with measures to fix the USA, but demanding it.
It all was so simple.
Then I find yet another front-page post about the Big Orange.
Some days I wonder what it is going to take for all of us to truly focus on action vs. yap-yap-bickering.
I hope the birdflu-pandemic bullet misses us this season. We, as a world/country/individuals are NOT ready. Do your research folks, since some scenarios, so I’ve heard, make all other current issues of the day look relatively insignificant…
Boo hiss

They are gorgeous-I love the mums.
I was looking into the Nikon D50, but I have this big worry that it’s too complicated. Doh.
Tell BF I said hi!
Will do. I thought the mums came out really well too. It’ll make for good Garden Blogging next year.

How are the Cabin boys?
Thanks for the tip!

The worst thing about all Sundays is Monday. Ugh!! This long weekend has been spectacular!
Enjoyed speinging it with you all…
I always judged a job by how I felt about it on Sunday night. If I couldn’t bear to think about it, it was perhaps time to look at other opportunities.
Wise words from a wise woman.
I mean it. I’m not just suckin up this time…really ;o)
And if I were..
At least this time I beat Knoxville Progressive to it!
I gotta 4 for ya Knoxville ;o)
You’re so cute (uh, you really are — I’ve seen the photos).
P.S. The same rule can be applied to love relationships and to friends.
If I were to follow your good advice it’s quite possible that I would wake up unemployed and lonely tomorrow.
Maybe less of a joke and more of a real observation.
Why risk misery tomorrow, when you can hope for the best and only risk misery for every single day for the rest of your life?
Hey! That’s not just on a personal level, it also explains the political trends of recent memory.
Raccoon time.

Hey, it’s fun to spoil them every now and then.

That sounds like a perfect weekend!

Where abouts? “Hiking through the petroglyphs” doesn’t narrow it down a whole lot — if ya know what I mean.
Petroglyph State Park ’round Albuquerque?
You guessed it. Then we drove to Pecos.
Are you from around there? The glphs are amazing, but I hear they are endangered from development.
A new road running through the park was approved by voters in 2004. A rear-guard action is being fought but I don’t know where it stands.

Where is this going on, Carnacki?
I think Soj is a woman too .. but I can’t tell you why I got that impression.

Not pretty. Sigh.
I’m not doing that badly.
You should have Scott McClellan’s job! (God, wouldn’t that be something… those press briefings.)
I put in my two cents and two breasts…. Jerome’s diary is good.
I can’t believe I missed your breasts the first time around…(yes, I had to go look!)
Yup, weekend almost over.
I woke up early this morning. That never happens.
But I woke up thinking of how to launch a campaign to take back America. Not just waste this opportunity by ‘strategizing’ and voting in Republicans willing to run as Democrats, or progressives who hate liberals — but really take back the country.

Sheesh.
Talk about a morning wasted.

Okay, who broke LSF?
In other news, I am almost out of pumpkin pie.
