Hay, you already have your own clique with like a gazillion members, now you’re gonna take the thread and the blog too? You Canadians just think that you own the whole world. 😉
Healing vibes coming your way from your faithful elected official. It took my wife about a week and a half to get over it. Hope tomorrow is a better day for you!
Not sure is “there” is here or Maine. I’ll give Maine much better props on being gorgeous but southern Indiana where I live has some very pretty areas of its own (like where I live) that are heavily forested and very hilly.
But the frame of my house was cut in New Hampshire so there’s a New England connection.
Avail yourself of his music as well as his words, it is very powerful. Voices like his are, unfortunately, missing in the struggles we are facing today.
Some of his albums are available on cd now, but you’ll probably have to track them down and order them.
Sadly, he has had many personal and legal problems associated with drugs over the years.
Someone turned me onto Gil Scott Heron’s music and words a number of years ago. “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” is a classic. I also dig a tune from the early 1980s called “B-Movie” that is as relevant today as it was at the beginning of the age of Raygun.
Instead of the ungodly 4am – noon schedule we were facing, the spouse will now be on a more civilized 9am – 5pm shift from now till he gets off the “transitional work” program.
We found our new bedframe today at IKEA! And IKEA was blissfully quiet; if you ever have to venture there, do it on a weekday. The bedframe will be delivered Friday morning, giving me a day to clear aside an area to put it. We’re going to spend the weekend at a local motel, so we can spend Saturday taking apart the old bed and Sunday putting together the new one, then Monday our new mattress should be delivered. 🙂
Had a form from my sister to fill out — evidentally we have a minimum amount we have to take out of the “stretch” IRAs we set up after Mom’s death, so I’m going to be receiving about $1400 before the end of the month. Very cool… 🙂
Good Morning!! And how are you feeling today? I still can’t believe that you could continue posting with all your usual wit through an illness like that. I had the flu over Thanksgiving and I’m sure my IQ dropped at least 30 points. — Are you drinking enough water?
We have a little shelf right outside our front door and there is easily 8 or 9 inches on it. But there was some blowing earlier in the day, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s actually 10. It’s quite a lot.
It’ll be interesting to see if I can get out of the circle and to a plowed road in time to pick my sister up at the airport. One of the SUV sibs might have to do it instead.
6-8 is what they thought we’d get going into this. I know the library director thought that this would be one of those days where he closes and the snow melts off the streets and everyone has a great mid-week day off.
But, I think the temperatures (now down to 3.9 from 4.4 25 minutes ago) are killer combined with the snow. And I don’t think anything is going to melt off.
One sister flew in last night. Her plane was scheduled to land at 6:30. When I called her cell at 9:30 she was still on the highway driving to my brothers & couldn’t talk. I don’t know how she landed at all.
I’ll take a picture as soon as I can get myself really moving. Mister thought ahead and shoveled snow 3 times last night, so we would have a chance at opening the front door and getting through the walkways.
To whoever shows up — it’s all yours.
The site and the thread are all mine… and I know because Andi just told me…
paging supersoling and shermanesqe… vodka being served liberally… 😉
oh, and one drink doesn’t work when you’re Irish & Ukrainian… just sayin’… 😉
Irish & Ukrainian
omg are we related? Toss in some Spanish and you have my whole tree.

They’re just too polite to tell anyone, and no one’s noticed yet. But you know there has to be a reason Celine Dion sells so many albums.
Thanks, Andi. Hope you get a good night’s rest and that you feel better in the AM.
Thanks. I hope you are feeling okay. I noticed you’ve been kind of “quiet” the past few days.
Hope you’re feeling better tomorrow.
Hope your night was blissful and all your sheep stopped perfectly positioned over the fence.
I’m really glad that you are back, too. We missed you, much more than we missed your flowers.

Hey, quit trying to buy my vote 😉
Glad to see you dropping back by. That was a good work you did on issues around the ambulance service. Thanks for looking out for all of us BC’ers.
AndiF, I see this picture and the pictures of your post and beam house on previous threads, and I think “Maine”
Do you live in my place of birth and home of my heart?
I think Andi’s gone to bed, but she’s in Indiana.
Well…it’s gorgeous there…I have never spent much time there – been through a few times is all.

Spidey and Indy running the bar
night owls
Vodka you say…sure, y knot
Looks like they’ve had too much caffeine.
Goodnight Andi and thank you.
By the way, the revolution should be televised with vodka flowing liberally.
The revolution will not be televised.
The revolution will be no re-run brothers;
The revolution will be live.
Gil Scott Heron
Leading the new attack was a new voice: articulate, uncompromising, and enraged.…from the link.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction to learn the need for the revolution going live. Some things in life can’t be Tivo’d.
I’ll get lost there and come out a wiser person.

The revolution will also not be blogged.
…will go see how much fun you had without me.
Some good news:
So overall, a pretty good day… 🙂
A rerun from several nights ago. Twilight over a small community snuggling in for the night.
Now pass me one of them thar Milwaukee’s Best beers.
I just got a call that the library doesn’t open until 10:30 today!!
And since I’m scheduled (with pre-approval) to leave at 11:30, it just doesn’t make sense for me to come in at all!
Yeeeee! Haaaa!
Yay! Katiebird can come out and play!
We’re getting our snow tonight…
. . . . Except that it’s actually dropped a degree in the hour since I first woke up. From 5.5 to 4.5
Aren’t the San Francisco cousins going to be happy?
Are you awake?
I see you!
Of course.
And glad you don’t have to go in. How much snow did you get?

with that much snow and the low temps — getting stuck can be really dangerous; let another sister do it.
It’s going to start here this afternoon but it doesn’t sound like we’re going to get quite as much as you — 6-8 inches total.
