What should I do? (Looks befuddled.)
thank your agent, cry a little, talk for way too long and give a forearm shiver to Billy Crystal as he tries to force you off the stage.
I was clueless last year also…and didn’t realize that voting was by comment. I think my comment a couple comments down is correct but it would be nice if you could summarize the categories or something.
Thanks Booman
Thanks for making this clear. Wampum sure doesn’t.
I think we are all supposed to vote for Thoughts from Kansas.
What’s that? And where do we vote?
(Seriously, here, folks. I haven’t got a CLUE what to do.)

Looked up the link, but see no obvious way to participate in the booswarm. Call me clueless!
Scroll all the way down to the bottom. 🙂
bottom of what?
bottom of the page when you click this. sheesh, left that part out…..
Thanks!
Best Series: Iraq War Grief Daily Witness by RubDMC
i just have to say this: the best diary of 2005 was hands down written by Bob Johnson’s dog Rex.
That’s the one that gave me my hernia! I just know it!
(He is the funniest ever … just love him.)
Disagree Booman. The best was just two days ago bood’s “The Wizard of Oil”. Not only was it hysterical but the time he took to photoshop all those pics deserves an award alone.
Bood might qualify for the Best Series. Maybe it doesn’t fit but he deserves recognition for a year of amazing work in some category.
I also think Ductape should get one. Booman best community. Does Booman qualify as New Blog? I think Booman should also get best logo and best Cafe.
whatever they call it, since they don’t have a “Most Neglected Blog” category, for which I would be a shoo-in.
And thank you for the compliment 🙂
“Most neglected blog” – hey now there’s a category that I’d even have a shot at! 🙂
i’d expect our best chance is in Best New Blog unless SusanHu takes home all the alloy.
Susanhu is a given. She may need to buy a truck for the haul.
So what, I shouldna thrown you in for “Community”????
It is really a close call. I kinda agree about the “Wiz of oil”. Do they narrow it down after people give their choices?
I will gladly nominate BostonJoe’s Fit to Print Me Series, it was a fantastic month-long journey that he shared with us.
Gotta go with Advice for Batshit Loopy
Abosolute killer, spot on satire…on a par with Bob Johnson’s dog Rex. Put BJ “on the map” IMNHO.
A true deight.
Peace

You are number 1 on my list Booman…then a girl likes to get around! ;^D
Went back and added a comment for Best New Blog = Booman Tribune.
like to see my differentation between “group blog” and “community blog”:
I would differentiate between group blog and community blog as follows:
Group blog — a blog that has several contributors, but is limited in outside participation.
Community blog — a blog that has several contributors, but is open to outside participation.
So a blog like the HuffPost, although they have several contributors, would fall more into the “group blog” category because participation from the outside is limited to posting comments, while sites like Daily Kos and Booman Tribune would fall into the “community blog” because anyone who registers can participate by posting a diary, which can be recommended and even “front-paged” so more folks might notice it.
In that vein, I nominate Huffington Post in the group blog category, and Booman Tribune in the community blog category.
Just my $0.02, of course…
Sites like BooTrib and dKos are definitely community sites, because the entire community can participate in setting the tone for the site by what they write in their diaries (this might be something to remember the next time we’re tempted to indulge in a bitch session…the world is watching…).

Are you kidding, Cali?? I thought that the past two weeks around here would have shown this to be less than a “given”.
What “world” is watching? Really, what?
that we’re the only ones who count, right? 😉
(Congrats on the two chapters done, BTW…forgot to send them in the Cafe…)
thanks — only 4-6 more to go!
I am sick to my stomach right now about “here”, not people (with an exeption or two), but “here”.
I think, of all the people who really count, denziens of the Frog Pond are the least of the least..
Am I missing something? You sound deeply upset.
I’m not sure what you’re referring to, but my memories of the last two weeks include hundreds of lovely comments instigated by ejmw and his virtual ball of twine. I’m just saying . . . it ain’t all bad . . .
I hope everything’s okay, and I’m sorry to see you distressed.
Sorry but “i” can’t reply right now, as BooMan has decided that I am cut off from my commenting due to anit-social behavior
…as soon as he gives “brinn” back her privledges, I hope to be able to access origianl writing what I have contributed here and take it back.
I’m sure that repsonding to you under another username is a bannable offense, so, thanks for your thoughts! but more than likely, you won’t see me about!
P.S. – could you please help me understand this comment:
“denziens of the Frog Pond are the least of the least..”
Not to be obtuse, but I have no idea what that comment means.
THIS go down to number 5 and read and see for yourself that they even suggested Booman, Dkos and MLW as ideas for Best Community Blog. So no one is kidding and I think Booman has a good chance to win. Right On Cali..Now let’s all go over and VOTE.
Anbd YOU might want to get the FUCK off my — you are some kind of really pycho absuer who I am calling out to stay the hell away from me. I don’t give a shiot who has your back around here. you display all of the tendencies of someone I want to be far far far awya from with legal documents in hand.
okay you are cut off as you would be in a bar. Your comments ability will be restored tomorrow when I wake up.
Chamonix, you also should try to avoid inflammatory stuff. But Brinnainne is exhibiting anti-social behavior after hours of attempted dialogue and I have to intervene tonight.
How do they decide who wins? I saw Booman nominated. Can I vote for it somewhere?

Bill Maher on Larry (hack) King live now..should repeat at 9 & 12 PST.
Booswarm away. I put in my nominations almost all for Booman Tribune or for individual writers here. You people rock.
I’m hoping RubDMC gets some recognition…
Booman, Bood and BostonJoe – Ohmy! 🙂
I am so glad you are here at the pond. I love your energy, passion and anger at the administration. You will forever have a special place in my heart. How’s the new place?
There’s no place like Booman there’s no place lime booman- taps ruby red slippers together. 🙂
The new place is nice. Still getting my bearings and all.
I remember asking Supersoling, how one can be a Peace Activist but feel so much anger… it’s just that some of us fuel ourselves differently with anger. I always thought an anti-war person would have to be freakin’ Ghandi or Mother Theresa.. not some pissed off mom who has really bad language 🙂
But one thing’s for sure… you’re never alone. No matter where you go. Crawford, DC or Portland… or even an ice shack in some far off place. As long as you ahve peace in your heart, you can be driven by your outrage. It’s a balancing act. And friends help you keep from splatting cause – there’s no net, baby… maybe were’ all just free-falling but at least we’re doing it together.
Geronimo
Absolutely Janet! Keep up the fight. I am right beside you girl! Have a wonderful Christmas sweetie!
Off topic Janet, but while Ghandi was a true advocate for peace the only peace Mother Teresa allowed for was the peace she believed she helped people achieve by getting them to convert to her brand of religion. The fact that she never sought to help improve the life or health of any of these people while they were alive, or to in any way empower them to rise up out of the poverty that was crushing them.
She celebrated the “beauty of suffering” while she attempted conversions as her “wards” lay on their decrepit death beds. She provided a place for people to die while being proselytized to in an attempt to convert them to her extremist view of Catholicism. There is no evidence she ever once attempted to provide serious and ongoing, lifesaving medical attention for aqnyone under her supervision, and even after raising hundreds of millions of dollars in her name over the years, her “care facilities in India were every bit as primitive and decrepit on the day she died as on the day she began her hypocritical journey. In short, she was a fraud.
Just saying. It got me when she was mentioned in the same sentence as Ghandi. She’s way out there on the other end of that spectrum, and it’s a spiritual travesty that she’s on the fast track to sainthood withing the RCC.
More relevantly to this thread, I love your posts too, and your clear anger at the bullshit. This is opart of why I brought up my own outrage at the charlatan Teresa. I figured if you knew more about her you’d understand.
Thank you SBJ – just read this today and I did not know that stuff. Thanks for waking me up 🙂
If you think about it – there’s no losers 🙂
coinkydinky that all my choices were from the Froggy Pond called Booman.
Hey… I didn’t vote in catergories… is that okay??
Anywhoooos – break a leg bloggy bloggers and a double dose of Bravo to Mr. Booman himself. Thanks for having a lilypad for us to leap from. xoxo
errr I meant/ I didn’t vote in ALL categories…
Still leery of elections ever since 2000 and 2004 ahem. 🙂
the Froggy Bottom Cafe/Lounge should be nominated.
The Real BooMan just demanded extended attention. Now I have black hair all over me.
Threw the bmt down for community and expert (Larry J & P-diddy Lang) not that boo and sue don’t qualify.
They should have a category for best progressive art blog!
Chamonix pushes her buttons and you punish only her?
Your bar man, but still, this is like throwing the flag for penalty at the guy who was defending himself.
I know it seemed a bit much – got the feeling there’s a bit of a double-standard, intentional or not I don’t know. My perspective is a bit jaded of course, as my last dealings with Chamonix left me with something of a bad taste in my mouth.
