Just playing catch up, and wonderin’ when, if ever, we’ll run out of kool-aid, fake news, and paid news.
Why is Bob Schieffer, (CBS), parroting Tweety, (MSNBC)? Schieffer’s reported saying Kerry and Bin Laden expressed “Almost The Same” sentiments.
Will he correct himself or say he’s misunderstood?
Now everyone must vote so that BooMan Tribune will win!
To what I am sure will be everyone’s amazement, I was not nominated for a Koufax again this year, thus keeping up my perfect record, however I did make it onto Carnival of the Liberals even though I am a moderate.
The other categories haven’t been announced yet, have they? I nominated you in a couple of categories: Most Overlooked Blog(or something like that) and Best Commentor. So hang in there, your fandom is extrapolating…
category, all those fancy schmancy blogs can eat my dust.
In the meantime, while we vote for BooMan, we should prepare for lots of new visitors by posting as many kitten pics as possible so they will not be intimidated by all the learned discourse we engage in here amid a relative lack of calling each other pie-throwing Feminazi doo doo heads.
I haven’t had a yen to shoe shop in about two years. This is not a good sign if you are a woman, it is a sign of a prolonged stress. I will be shoe shopping though in November spidey. In the mean time please shoe shop a little for me too.
I’ve never been a big shoe shopper, mainly because it’s nearly impossible to find shoes that actually work on my feet (I wear 8-1/2 Wide, aka boat feet). I fell in absolute love with a pair of shoes at Nordstrom the other day (no, I don’t shop there, but it’s the only way to get back to the transit center at Valley Fair mall). I thought, “These would be perfect for the cruise!”…till I found out they only come in B (medium) width. To top it off, I’ve got weak ankles and am, er, “top heavy”, so anything with a spike heel is totally out.
I pretty much live in my exercise shoes, with an occasional foray into ankle boots if I’m wearing nicer pants; the last time I wore a dress was last year at my mom’s funeral, which probably would’ve caused her to fall over dead if she wasn’t there already… 😉
I’m 8 1/2 but 9 feels better these days. No heels is no excuse either. I find myself these days in a kind of Mule craze. I love Born shoes, they have no heel so far. I have Born shoes, Born sandals, Born boots even. That was all two years ago though and they are getting a bit worn. They are super comfortable. Just haven’t had much interest in shoes though lately, kind of sad……I know that someplace some cobbler is sobbing! I guess I’m just preparing myself for the barefoot and pregnant days!
We are on the cusp of Chinese New years coming up (January 29) the year of the dog. Just what my ex used to call me, a dog, maybe since it is my year it will improve my wealth happiness and success this year.
In one shot that TIME saw, Bush appears with Abramoff, several unidentified people and Raul Garza Sr., a Texan Abramoff represented who was then chairman of the Kickapoo Indians, which owned a casino in southern Texas. Garza, who is wearing jeans and a bolo tie in the picture, told TIME that Bush greeted him as “Jefe,” or “chief” in Spanish. Another photo shows Bush shaking hands with Abramoff in front of a window and a blue drape. The shot bears Bush’s signature, perhaps made by a machine. Three other photos are of Bush, Abramoff and, in each view, one of the lobbyist’s sons (three of his five children are boys). A sixth picture shows several Abramoff children with Bush and House Speaker Dennis Hastert, who is now pushing to tighten lobbying laws after declining to do so last year when the scandal was in its early stages.
I’m betting my 6 piggy penny pots that just in time for mid-terms, we’ll see those pics they’ve put away “in safe keeping.”
Just think about that for a minute – the desperation and the lengths they’ll scale to hide photos of Abramoff, a felon, with the president. This after Scottie would have us blindfolded…the preznit cannot recall …who was that raising over 100K for BushCheney? Abramoff.
It’s the same, same song when Enron’s Ken Lay made the headlines. Noo, no the president does not know Ken Lay, only to have a pic surface with Lay one step behind the gov.
I was reading that article this morning and wondered why Time is stating they have pictures but are not releasing them..wtf? The pictures will get out sooner or later and why would they want to be scooped by someone other paper/magazine if they have the pictures?
the implication in what Time has said is: The owner of the photos is asking for a lot of money. Time has been shown the photos but it’s against their policy to buy info so that don’t own the right to reprint them. That’s why they suggest it will show up in a tabloid because one of them could pay. The tabs don’t have pretentions to “ethical journalism.”
for the football games to start…and getting the cardboard and stuff together for the recycling run…and trying to decide if I have the energy to clear out stuff in the closet for Goodwill today or wait till next weekend…just a typical Sunday here in the household…
Yesterday the family was giving me a hard time about being “MilitaryTracy”. Lots of people have cool screen names and apparently they feel dissatisfied with mine. I said that I didn’t think that one’s screen name was all that important and mine was born signing up to vent about my military spouse woes that nobody in the nation wanted to acknowledge. I pointed out that Cabingirl was that because she had a little cabin in the woods. I have always been interested in housing and building houses that are more energy efficient and easier on the environment. It is my pet lifelong learning project. My son says that I need to change my screen name to MilitaryAngryTracy and my husband says that I need to change my name to PassiveYurt.
Well I like your screen name if that counts and in fact I believe I clicked on one of your diaries simply due to your name….I thought it might be someone who was in the military or married to someone and was wondering what point of view that would bring to any discussion here.
Our screen names can be fun and descriptive, but certainly only a small part of of who we are can be captured in anyone’s screen handle.
I could probably just as easily gone with-‘ihatebigotedmfuckers’or ‘gayhatersaresickos’ as descriptive of me but I decided to be a bit more shall we say friendly sounding.
CabinGirl says thank you for clearing up any lingering pirate-related misconceptions people may have had about her username…and that if you must change your name, I vote for Feisty Yurt Lover. 🙂
ABC showed some moxie last night when it aired Enemy of the State. Sure, it’s just a movie. But it is a movie about domestic spying. And they had the nerve to show it at the same time that Bush is in trouble for illegal domestic spying. Hopefully, the light bulb went on for some Americans.
Amidst all the political goings-on, I have have been spending alot of my time this week dealing with the fact that my 16 year-old Libby seems to have a brain tumor.
She’s doing all right now and doesn’t seem to be in any pain. She just hangs her head to the side and is real undsteady on her feet. Libby is my first dog, so I haven’t been through this before. But I’m just loving her and knowing that I’m ready to let her go when the time comes. I do wake up crying in the middle of the night pretty regularly – so its hard.
They give us so much. My shepherds always keep us all safe, and I have never felt a need to own a weapon when my husband has been out of the country for a year plus at a time. We lived in a pretty rough neighborhood in Colorado Springs also, southern area close to Fort Carson. My parents bought their first home their and it pisses me off what has happened to the place so I stubbornly lived their and supported others who wanted a safe place for our families and children and we did what we could to take it back. I had to put our last big guy down because his body gave out before he did and he couldn’t get up anymore. My husband was in Kuwait waiting to cross the border into Iraq. He stood inline for a long time for the phone doing his best to time his call as close to the time that the vet was supposed to be at our house. I understand

Are we to conclude Bin Laden does watch “Face-the-Nation” on Al-Jazeera?
I’d like Wolfie’s show better if Eagleburger would stuff his fat tie in his mouth and let Richard Holbrooke talk more.
And I’m looking up all the stories about the FOOTBALL games today. And I see my Seahawks are not favored! -3 or -4 in all the predictions.
Sn, so Seattle, The Seattle Times headlines is:
“Super Bowl dreaming in the City of Self-Doubt”
Yup. That’s us.
Then I have to wait clear til 3:30 pm ! for the game! Cuz those Broncos and Steelers go first.
(Steve, good luck to your Broncos!)
It’s finally getting colder ’round these parts. It’s a welcome change compared to the several weeks straight of sringtime weather.
