Those statuettes would look better if they were frogs.
Well too bad, he showed up anyway.
wow, you know the BEST people.
I’m still hoping to get introduced to Jessica Alba.
you can have Jessica if I can have that dude that presented with her. Who WAS he? I’ve never seen him before.
I have no idea, but you have got yourself a deal.
It’s not enough to just bring George — I opened the cafe, you’re in charge of refreshments.
I think it was Eric Bana.
He was incredibly hot.
Was it this guy?
(panting) Did I miss him?
no — he’s here all night. He’s a good friend of ej (either that or ej kidnapped him)
So where’s Jessica?
Anyone want a drink?
you totally frighten me
It’s not my goal. It just happens.
we could do an act
oh, I guess we are 🙂
You seem like more of a Jager person. Maybe?
I think Jessica likes it
I don’t
I’m not a big fan of jager either.
<picks tongue up off floor>
Hi Jessica!
I didn’t want anyone to know but . . . I’m Jessica’s mentor.
I assume you taught her everything she knows about looking beautiful?
If she brings a full keg to this party, then I think you’ve taught her very well.
no, she’s just naturally beautiful
I taught her that she’d be better off leaving this party with George than with you 🙂
I’m suddenly very sad.
🙁
poor you
but George always wins
what was that TV show she was on? The science fiction one? I liked it. She hooked up with the guy in the wheel chair?
I don’t know. I don’t watch TV other than sports.
I know she was the Invisible Woman in Fantastic 4. I’m glad she wasn’t invisible the whole time.
It was called Dark Angel. I loved that show!
You’re awake.
That was it. I loved that show too — for which I got a lot of grief from almost everyone I knew. I never understood why.
I dunno. People made fun of us for watching it, too. I think there was a perception that it was just a “hot bimbo” vehicle or something. None of those people ever watched it.
People acted like it was meant for the 18-22 age bracket but I thought it had a pretty sophisticated plot line.
I’m over here
so you DIDN’T watch the oscars?
I had them on in the background. I wouldn’t have had it on at all if not for Jon Stewart.
I’m still hoping that he runs for office after he tires of comedy. He’s so sharp.
he was funny
seemed a little nervous at the beginning but then he loosened up.
I agree. I thought he was pretty hilarious the whole time, but definitely seemed nervous at first.
Have you seen the clip from when he was on Crossfire? That’s priceless.
Am I the only one on this or what?
You are.
No I missed crossfire. And I don’t see the daily show. No cable/satellite.
He had some great lines tonight — of course I don’t remember any of them. Except when the hip hop guys won and he asked why they were the most excited people there.
I downloaded the Crossfire video (I never watched that show live). If you feel like watching it, I’ve got it here.
I can’t believe nobody else is doing Irish car bombs tonight. What better way to keep Monday at bay?
thanks I’ll watch it
have you ever noticed how people around here will always find something to argue about? two people are having an argument in the oscar thread (it’s apparently been going on all night)
wait, I’ve seen this — where he slams bow tie Tucker?
HA! I figured you had probably seen it. Yep.
How old are you? And you wear a BOW TIE!!
Also, yes I have noticed that we can all argue about anything.
I’m not much for arguing, myself. I usually find myself in the ‘peacekeeper’ role.
where he painstakingly points out that his news is FAKE, as in NOT REAL, as in a COMEDY show. But they are supposed to have real news? That was a great moment in television.
Didn’t they take crossfire off the air?
Yeah, I think that Crossfire was shut down right before Tucker got his own show on MSNBC.
But I might be wrong on that.
OK, I think I’m going to head off to sleep soon. Maybe not now, but soon. You’ve been warned.
Have a sunset.
lovely
if you disappear I’ll assume you’ve nodded off.
Excellent. I’m glad we understand each other 🙂
Where is everyone?
I don’t know, maybe they were tired out by the oscars. Or tired out by the pool tournament last night — which you abandoned for “real life”. Good choice.
I saw it went to at least 2 cafes. My abandoning it didn’t stop me from having to sleep in until about noon today though.
Up for some foosball?
I guess if I can play virtual pool I can play virtual foosball.
It’s amazing how much better the virtual me is at these things than the flesh and blood me. 🙂
Ah, the power of the internets 🙂
Was it just me, or did it look like Jessica Alba had done something to her upper lip?
the only thing I noticed about her was that she had a gorgeous dress on and a gorgeous guy standing next to her. After a brief moment on the dress I simply stared at him and wondered WHY I had never seen him before.
Maybe there are oscar pictures out there already for us to look?
I didn’t notice. I may have been looking at the wrong part of the teevee though.
What’s everybody still doing up?
George (the dog or Clooney) said hi.
Hi Family Man — how are your guests?
They’re OK, just taking up a lot of time. Sorry I missed most of the stuff tonight. I was trying to sleep and I was dreaming of Jagermeister, pool and foosball. Don’t know why.
here she is

ej
down boy
You are my hero for the day, mary.
glad you’re happy 😉
I may be nice to you
but I’m nicer to me 🙂
he was apparently in Troy
You just make sure you keep him occupied. I think I’ve finally gotten Jessica’s attention.
I’m sure if this were real life, she’ be gesturing you over right now.
Yeah, I’m sure 🙂
Where’d you find it? I just did a quick cruise of some gossip blogs and didn’t see many photos. Eonline won’t even load — it must be swamped.
Still, that photo doesn’t really show the lip…
I think it was the SF paper
Yahoo has a ton of them in their Oscar section. I thought Salma Hayek looked great. Maggie Gyllenhall definitely has the worst posture.
Good night to the night owls. Enjoy the party.
Salma’s dress was the best color. I liked Meryl Streep’s dress too.
I thought JLo’s dress was stunning.
I thought Meryl’s dress was a bit low-cut, but she carried it off well somehow. JLo’s looked good, but I don’t like that color.
What about Heath Ledger’s wife, Michelle Williams? I hated that yellow! And why does she insist on wearing giant ruffles and flounces around her neck? She’s such a cute, tiny little thing, but her dresses always overpower her.
I missed her. I didn’t see the red carpet portion.
I thought Reese had a lovely dress.
If she did, it isn’t showing in this picture.
I’m heading off to bed; morning will come too soon. See y’all tomorrow.
