I think I’m coming down with my first cold in a long time. Mostly sore throat and lungs hurt when I cough. I’m waiting for the water to boil so I can make coffee in the french press. That first sip of hot coffee always feels like heaven in the morning.
It definitely sounds like you’re coming down with something. Just be careful and watch that asthma. My youngest daughter has it pretty bad and I remember trips to the Emergency Room.
I’m actually doing pretty well. Have had a couple of folks contact me this week about working with them…I have to decide what I want to do about that today. I guess some of that depends on the types of projects they have going. And of course, it’s spring, and I have classes to finish, and how crazy do I want to make myself with deadlines?
And now that I’ve rambled on and on, it’s time to refill my coffee cup. 🙂
Yeah, I vaguely remember the days when it seemed like it took forever for the week to end…ever since I started working from home, they seem to be over so quickly!
Well this one is flying by and I have tons to get done cause of the county convention this weekend and all the political meetings at night. I need 48 hours in each day. LOL
LOL I try to be. I am running late this am so going into work a couple of hours late. Finally got the medical claim finalized yesterday so I am pretty happy.
Well I won’t go into all the drama that unfoldede yesterday. LOL Let’s just say I got a different adjuster and was able to pick up a check by 3:30 in the afternoon. lol
The drive in is 30 minutes or so. The drive home can be anywhere from 1 to 2.5 hours depending on traffic. The longest was 4.5 when there was 3 accidents in one day on the freeway.
You’re not one of those people who flick the butt out the window are you? There have been several times I wanted to get out, pick it up and shove it back in the window.
You just messed up! SN will be on you about smoking in just a minute. 🙂
On the waiting, I had to do it in a Honda civic, with my X and two daughters. Both daughters were under 9 y.o. and pinging off the interior. That was miserable.
Thanks, FM! And I saw that you stopped by (running back and forth, while checking my email — I always think people will reply to my messages instantly — and getting dressed)
lol! I hadn’t thought of that (really), but now that you mention it. . .you know what they say about liberals– we like our sex the same way we like our voting: early and often.
Uh. . .I mean g’mrnin. Or something like that. Hi all. I’m up with DrMc’s alarm today and regretting it. She’s off to teach physics to the college kiddos and I’m just off. When I’m sure I can do it without burning anything that doesn’t need it, I’ll go make a nice pot of Earl Green or Ceylon Snow Bud or just plain old Irish Breakfast. In the meantime I’ll be in the corner by the window drooling and thinking of dark chocolate croisants.
A little of both really. I’ve got my every other Thursday writers group meeting tonight, which means an hour drive in to the big city and either boquets or brickbats on the latest chapters of the WebMage sequel. I’ll probably stop in and visit with the group my class formed to see how they’re doing on becoming the next shining generation of F&SF pros from the Twin Cities too. So that’s all good. Unfortunately, it looks like we’re going to get just enough snow to create traffic hassles. Maybe if I can wake up in the next hour or two I’ll even get a couple thousand words written. How about you?
Yeah, I’d rather pass on that one too. Unfortuntately, it’s enough snow to be a hassle, but not enough to convince me to just skip the trip. I’ve reached the final stage of waking up, acceptance. That means it’s time for a diet cola and the treadmill to wake me up enoight to deal with making a pot of tea and thinking in coherent sentences.
I considered trying to respond to this in tongue-glued-to-the-window dialect, but figured the effort of deliberate mistyping would be enough of a distraction to knock me off the treadmill. Instead, I’ll opt for keeping my face away from the glass.
I’m doin’ nostalgic this morning, thinking of you and Jim, and remembering when I had my own “Jim” to go hiking with. (Note to self: must find new Jim.) These photos are turning out to be some of your best, don’t you think so? The boots made me laugh and the misty one is just beautiful. Thanks for the linkee! I am eager to see more. Take care, avoid rocks that reach out and scratch you, and have so much fun that rightwingers will try to outlaw you.
I think we need some lox and cream cheese for that bagel up there…it looks awfully dry without it.
How’s everybody doing this fine morning?
Froggy you beat me to opening the cafe today.
How’s froggy doing today?
Are you having a conversation with yourself or did someone else really beat you to it?
You stayed up awfully late last night, FM.
Someone beat me to it. I’m not complaining though.
I forgot to ask. How are ya today SN?
I think I’m coming down with my first cold in a long time. Mostly sore throat and lungs hurt when I cough. I’m waiting for the water to boil so I can make coffee in the french press. That first sip of hot coffee always feels like heaven in the morning.
Coffee in the French press…oh, to be flying on the caffeine from that. 🙂
Flying I will be. Morning CG. Are the boys on spring break this week or next?
I know you have asthma, but have you ever had bronchus(sp). That’s what I ususally come down with.
I may be getting something like that. Colds often make my asthma much worse and it’s felt like that for the past week.
One of the boys woke up with a sore throat and I remember sharing a straw with him a couple nights ago when we ate at Salsa Fresh.
It definitely sounds like you’re coming down with something. Just be careful and watch that asthma. My youngest daughter has it pretty bad and I remember trips to the Emergency Room.
Time to get out the echinaceae. And now you have a reason for napping. 🙂
What CabinGirl said.
I will definitely milk it for all it’s worth, trust me.
What’s the advantage to having a cold if you can’t be waited on?
Oh, no one will wait on me, but I’ll whine a lot and get away with it. And there’s the naps.
That always works for me. 🙂
Hope you feel better soon!!!
Thanks, the coffee’s doing wonders already.
This froggy’s fine…I was up at 5, but didn’t even think to open the cafe then-doh!
I can’t believe it’s already Thursday. I feel like I hve too muchw ork left for it to be almost the end of the week!
How are you doing, FM and SN?
Doing fine CG. Sounds like you have had and will have a busy week. Otherwise working too hard, how are you?
I’m actually doing pretty well. Have had a couple of folks contact me this week about working with them…I have to decide what I want to do about that today. I guess some of that depends on the types of projects they have going. And of course, it’s spring, and I have classes to finish, and how crazy do I want to make myself with deadlines?
And now that I’ve rambled on and on, it’s time to refill my coffee cup. 🙂
Morning!!! I know the feeling. This week has been a bizzare one and I still have loads to get done. lol
Yeah, I vaguely remember the days when it seemed like it took forever for the week to end…ever since I started working from home, they seem to be over so quickly!
Funny how that works…
Well this one is flying by and I have tons to get done cause of the county convention this weekend and all the political meetings at night. I need 48 hours in each day. LOL
Nothing like starting the day off right with an empty comment. Good Morning all!
How are you today?
I thought it was some sort of secret message that nobody gave me the decoder ring for…
Me too.
LOL Good Morning!!!!!
Hi Folks!!!! Happy Thursday To everyone!!!
Morning Refinish. Chipper again I see.
LOL I try to be. I am running late this am so going into work a couple of hours late. Finally got the medical claim finalized yesterday so I am pretty happy.
That’s great. One less hazzel to worry about.
Amen!!! This is such a relief to finally be done with it and I can now put it behind me.
I know I hate it when things just keep dragging out. Especially when it could have been done easily and fast.
Well I won’t go into all the drama that unfoldede yesterday. LOL Let’s just say I got a different adjuster and was able to pick up a check by 3:30 in the afternoon. lol
Good for you!
Thanks!!!! Now I can seriously start looking for a place to move to in Austin and get out of Redneck…. oops Round Rock in the next month or so.
I never did find out if your drive to work is 2 hours round trip or one way. Either way it seems like a lot of driving.
The drive in is 30 minutes or so. The drive home can be anywhere from 1 to 2.5 hours depending on traffic. The longest was 4.5 when there was 3 accidents in one day on the freeway.
I would hate that. The longest wait I ever had was in Houston. Took forever to get out of there.
I have learned to be patient even in really bad traffic. I crank the tunes and chain smoke. LOL
Did everybody go back to bed? Who needs some coffee?
I always need coffee…except at happy hour.
I’ve had one cup — but for some reason it doesn’t seem like enough (I’m stuck about 1/2 way through The Commitment this morning).
LOL I have a committment to drink at least a 12 cup pot a day. Good morning!!!!
You’ll get katiebird.
That should have been ‘you’ll get it katiebird’.
I got it (finally!) and on just one cup, too.
I was just over there and saw. Looks very good.
I read it too, and it sounds so positive and encouraging katieb!
Good morning everyone!
Good Morning Olivia. I saw todays picture and I still don’t see how you didn’t get stung.
They were very preoccupied. 😉 Have a great day — I’m running (late) off to work. I’ll check in with y’all 🙂 later!
Thanks, Olivia — I just got back from my second visit (and another reply) to your most recent. I know you’re probably gone (I should be too)
Thanks, FM! And I saw that you stopped by (running back and forth, while checking my email — I always think people will reply to my messages instantly — and getting dressed)
I’m exactly the same way on messages. It took me a while to realize that people would be surfing the web and would get back to me a little later.
(snort) That’s what they’d like you to think.
Not that I’m whining to anyone here. Oh, no, not anyone here.
Coffee? oh yes…very much yes on the need coffee front. I’m on my second cup and still can’t seem to wake up.
We’ve got any coffee and in massive quantities, virtual of course. 🙂
I think this says it all. LOL
Men, Coffee, Chocolate Framed Tile
How about one for women:
Rich, full-bodied and hot.
I will do that design either tonight or Sunday. Thanks for the suggestions!!!
Has to be equal opportunity. 🙂
George is whinning to go out. I’ll be back in a little while.
I’ll bet this is what the Secret Service agents whisper to each other, too.
G’morning, all froggybottoms and tops!
Good one, kansas. And is that a thinly veiled sexual innuendo so early in the morning?
I certainly hope so. 😉
lol! I hadn’t thought of that (really), but now that you mention it. . .you know what they say about liberals– we like our sex the same way we like our voting: early and often.
You two are incorrigible. 🙂
High praise! 🙂
It should be since I had to look the word up and I’m still not sure if it’s the word I meant.
I could have just said ‘you two are bad.’ 🙂
THat was correct, and I for one was very impressed.
Awh gosh, as he stares down at his foot moving it back and forth.
How can you tell if you’re a froggy bottom or top?
Oh, this one is too easy! You can tell by whether you’re looking up or looking down, silly!
(snort) duh!
And, by the way — Good Morning!
Uh. . .I mean g’mrnin.
Good Morning Kelly.
Is this going to be an interesting day or a run of the mill day?
Howdy FM,
A little of both really.
I think you are going to have an interesting day. Hopefully it won’t snow to much. I’d hate to see you slip sliding away.
Well then, have a good time.
Don’t drool to close to the window, K, or you might freeze to it.
I considered trying to respond to this in tongue-glued-to-the-window dialect, but figured the effort of deliberate mistyping would be enough of a distraction to knock me off the treadmill. Instead, I’ll opt for keeping my face away from the glass.
We’re still having fun! In fact, we are having so much fun that I never noticed that I’d done this until I got ready for bed:
because of the excellent distractions:
Sigh…I wish were all there too!
Sorry about your boo-boo.
Beautiful Andi. Glad to hear ya’ll are having fun.
Are those by any chance smartwool’s hiking socks?
Wow, that is beyond gorgeous. The scenery I mean. And may you keep having fun.
Hi Nancy. How ya doin’?
I posted a couple more images on Tuesday if you want to see them. (The pretty one is farther down the thread)
other images

Spectacular. And I’m so impressed that you shaved your legs before venturing into the wilds of primitive Utah. You’re a better woman than I.
no shaving — the good fortune of very light hair 🙂
Beautiful — It’s just unbelievable. But, where’s the blue dot?
Hi kb! Oh, the Camera Creep has been busy but I’ve just messed with pictures I took. I’ll have some to put up when we get back.
Hey Andi — I saw that you’re off for the day, I hope you have a good hike!
Thanks for all the comments and compliments.
See you all later.
Kmc — no those are wigwam merino wool but jim loves smartwool.
Have a good time Andi & Jim.
I’m going to go and start a new cafe. I’ll be back as soon as it get it running.
Sunrise cafe is open.
