I’d say you could help me practice, except I don’t really want to practice my Italian spelling, which is what this would entail. I just want to order food and ask where the restroom is. Nobody will care if I can spell that.
Hi everyone, Guess what, Shirl will be here tomorrow, can you believe it…she has already begun her journey, traveling to a friend’s house who will transport her to a shuttle at 3 am which will take her to Salt Lake City, then to Nevada, layover and then on to Socal to arrive at 2:30. I am taking camera to airport to capture first pic. of our meeting.
Lucky her, she is coming right into a rain storm, supposed to last till Wed., but the weekend looks to be sunny and warm for the meetup.
Just wanted to fill you all in. I am so excited, hope I can sleep tonight…
I’m excited for you too! I saw that the weather there was supposed to be lousy and I thought of you and Shirl and hoped you won’t be sliding down a rainy hillside.
I’m so excited for you both! It’s wonderful that you all are going to meet up. I hope that the weather isn’t a big problem, and that you’ll all have sunny skies!
Reply to all above, I will have my son Jon take a pic. hope I can get him to come inside the terminal with me. Thanks for your good wishes and so forth….I will also post a comment or something tomorrow, with pics.
The big one I remember is the flying dream where you just push off and your flying. I think everyone has that. The only other is a dream I wrote up over at Diane’s site about the blogs. Believe it or not I was dreaming about all of you. I know, go figure.
Nope just poeple. Can’t put specific face on it, but as best I can remember I started out going from site to site, then thread to thread and then we all were in a park. Some people were demanding actions be taken and other were comforting a friend.
It was really pretty vivid, but by the time I woke up and typed it most of it was gone. 🙁
You know it’s funny, I know everyone was there, but I couldn’t say who. The only person that stands out, as he always does, is Ductape. I couldn’t tell you what he looked like, but I know he was there.
When I am really really over-tired and have been working a lot where I’m reading and writing all the time, I sometimes dream in words. It’s really strange. But there are no pictures, just words.
I’m glad it doesn’t happen often because I always wake up really tired. It’s like I’m reading my dream, but making it up at the same time. It’s hard to expain, but I actually see words.
Just for future, FM: in my experience it always seems to help recall dreams when you can talk, rather than write. When I was fairly seriously engaged in dream work, I kept a little portable tape recorder right by the bed; I’d wake up & immediately recount my dreams to it. I found that more of the dream came back to me as I spoke. Writing, not so much.
Other folks have used this method pretty effectively too.
That sounds really lovely — I can’t recall having a flying dream. The only times I feel that way, it’s more a falling dream and I wake up before I land. It’s not pleasant.
And I suppose you wouldn’t want to remember the “snake” dreams… 🙂
I dreamed about BT one night — we were all in Hawaii, sitting around a massive circular table (w/ about 30 people at it) all trying to guess who was who.
Just a little something extra to share: I posted a comment in Carnacki’s addiction diary — something of a joke concerning the nature of addiction as I’ve experienced it.
Looking back on what I’ve written, though, I’m overtaken by a tremendous gratitude: sure am glad I’m not involved in that crap any more.
So I thank you all, my fine pond-mates, for helping keep a wayward wench safely off the streets.
Hugs to all.
Let the tumultuous merriment commence.
aaaahhh
so much space
George licked the tables clean. And my cat provided the air freshener.
I thought this lounge had a distinctive smell.
Hence the spaciousness.
Yes — I believe that distinctive smell is eau de Bombastique. 🙂
Ooh, I love it ven you speak ze French!
Mary can speak Itialian for you. There are so few of us fluent in it.
but there are many fakers 😉
I need to practice over the next few months so I can get around in September
Yes that Babel Fish Translator is a wonderful thing.
I’d say you could help me practice, except I don’t really want to practice my Italian spelling, which is what this would entail. I just want to order food and ask where the restroom is. Nobody will care if I can spell that.
Have you goggled something that has pronunciation that you can hear?
I’ve taken classes. And been to Italy before. But the sites that pronounce are helpful.
Well if you want, I’ll speak Itialian with you. 🙂
thanks, but again with the waste of time figuring out the spelling.
I believe it is “zee poo-poo?” while gesturing wildly.
no, that’s French.
You’re absolutely right – I was confused with olivia. Duh.
I think you want “Dove è il crapper?”
I just got out of bed, what’s going on?
yes, that sounds right 🙂
Family Man’s narcolepsy must be contagious. Everybody’s napping all the time.
I was going to say, see other people sleep.
but not everyone sleeps 15 hours a day or more
It’s an art. You have to give your all to you art.
All that time sleeping, you must have some interesting dreams.
I would say yes, but I never can remember them. The only one that I do remember when it happens is the flying dream.
Yes, FM, tell us about your dreams. Over on the left where you won’t bust the margin.
I wasn’t sleeping. Lounging might be a better word.
I aspire to lounge 15 hours a day.
ever find your remote?
no, but I did find someone to change my channel to HBO on Sunday.
It would be a real pain not to be able to change stations. On the other hand, maybe you’re watching too much TV.
the funny thing is that I didn’t watch TV from Tuesday night until Saturday afternoon, when I discovered I had no idea where my remote was.
I know I didn’t watch TV because I never watch the Comedy Channel, but I watched the Dave Chapelle show on Tuesday and it was stuck there Saturday.
I will call Comcast tomorrow and get a new remote. I’ve given up on finding it.
You know that as soon as you get the new one you’ll find the old one.
Maybe its location will appear to you in one of your naps 🙂
You sound like Family Man — napping and toilets!
I guess a reputation is a good thing?
especially since it doesn’t involve snakes.
… your rep in the cafe is solid! (Like DJ said earlier, we all love you very much.) :o)
DJ should speak for herself
Now you said ya missed me Saturday.
I thank you both Olivia and Andi.
Could you define “getting around” for me?
I think I won’t and will leave it to your imagination 😉
But no one speaks Alabaman like you do.
I’ve been gone for so long they tell me around here I sound like a yankee. 🙂
Mr. Nature really toned down his Tennessee accent when he lived in Chicago for ten years. But it comes out when he’s mad or when we sees a spider.
When I lived in New Hampshire/Maine someone once asked me if I was from Boston. My eyes almost popped out.
This is were ya went, and George didn’t even tell me.
where did Andi go?
it’s got a great couch.
on that couch – ain’t nobody taking his couch away again for any vacation!
Which is why our vacation pictures will be sans-sniff until we start going places where couches are available 24/7.
Carry a bunch of cushions. I’m sure sniff would be happy.
I think Sniff has the right idea, but he’ll want to bury his nose in the cushions if kitty is around.
Now that is one comfy-looking doggie!

That’s great news Diane. I know both of you can’t wait.
post the picture! And have someone at the airport take a picture of the two of you.
I’m so excited for you both! It’s wonderful that you all are going to meet up. I hope that the weather isn’t a big problem, and that you’ll all have sunny skies!

to head off to bed.
Night everybody.
Night Andi.
dreams of flying?
Night Andi
aha, a lurker
Takes GD forever to wade thru and fournicate with everyone…OMIR!

what did we look like in your dream? letters of the alphabet?
Nope just poeple. Can’t put specific face on it, but as best I can remember I started out going from site to site, then thread to thread and then we all were in a park. Some people were demanding actions be taken and other were comforting a friend.

I’m betting that I wasn’t in the comforting group

That’s never hapened to me. It’s usually a people thing with me.
I’ve never met anyone else who can remember dreaming like that. And it doesn’t happen very often, but it’s really strange when it does.
I’ve never heard of that maryb — that is really interesting.
That is interesting Mary. It’s almost like people who can hear color or see sound.
I’m glad it doesn’t happen often because I always wake up really tired. It’s like I’m reading my dream, but making it up at the same time. It’s hard to expain, but I actually see words.
It sound like your just overworking yourself and it’s carrying over.
It only happens when I’m overtired and overworked. Otherwise my dreams are normal 🙂
See what did I tell you. You need to sleep more, it works wonders for me. 🙂
I’ll have you write me a note the next time I’m working 20 hour days.
I’ll be happy to. I’ll let them know they can’t treat our Mary that way.
Speaking of sleep it’s past my bedtime.
So, I’ll see ya’ll in the morning.
I was hoping you’d swap us to the new cafe so I didn’t have to …
I’ll do it if you want…
please
I’ll go with CG idea.
Gimme a minute…
Thanks CG. Night again.
you caught me before i got away. Give me a minute.

Thanks WW. I’ve got a little recorded I might try that with.
I wondered you were going to say it was b/c or your AF background.
Are you saying you only have 2 dreams you can recall?!
No I have more than that, but some are very good and some are nightmares. I never try to remember them.
The flying part is just pure by yourself flying. No machines, no nothing. I’ve had it a number of time and I always wake up pretty happy from it.
That sounds really lovely — I can’t recall having a flying dream. The only times I feel that way, it’s more a falling dream and I wake up before I land. It’s not pleasant.

I dreamed about BT one night — we were all in Hawaii, sitting around a massive circular table (w/ about 30 people at it) all trying to guess who was who.
I’ve had the falling dreams too. This one is completely different. It’s one where I’m actually flying. Going over fields and tree and stopping.
The BT dream I had was actually a nice dream too. It made me feel closer to everyone.
When we were in DC for the Sept protests we all wore ID stickers that said, “Hello, my name is BooMan/Martin”.
It was wild to see RenaRF, BostonJoe, CabinGirl, Supersoling, BrotherFeldspar, Damnit Janet, Salunga, etc.
Well I can tell you. Everyone was there.
I remember how exciting that time was Boo — those of us sitting at our computers were living vicariously through all of your posts and photos.
It has to be a wild feeling to see in person how your community has brought so many people together.
definitely. Friendships were made that weekend that will never be broken.
That is something the people that dismissed the protests will never understand.
Hey there, folks. Hope everyone’s had a good day.

of course we’ll take some of the credit even though it’s you who has done the hard part.
Still doin’ it, too. But thank you so much for your support! You too, FM.
And now, back to the merriment! I’ve missed so much today, darn it — but such is springtime.
Good to see ya — we’ve been passing by each other for the last few days. Sure glad you’re here! {{{ww}}}
Thank you, o purveryor of loveliness. I’m glad you’re here as well.
Have I told you yet how your images make my day?
LOL ww! Well, your photos bring back super fond memories of my childhood, which makes my day. 🙂
Excellent. I love an equal exchange!
You got streets?…damn, who knew, thought you were in the wilds. :{)
Peace
For about fifty bucks for a bus ticket (or similar outlay in gas), I got streets. I’m only about 100 miles from The City of Ghostly Horror.
🙂
Apparently 😉
I wanted to tell you that I tuned in on Friday night and listened to some jazz!
Jazz? on KGNU?…twern’t me…I’m a Bluesman.
Peace
D’oh! I was thinking of KP’s Jazz Jam when I typed that. 🙂
(But, I did listen in via this link.)
The jazzer’s come on at 9 pmst…then I get to go out and play.
GNU’s a very eclectic station…lots of music you will not hear anywhere else, particularly on a commercial station…it’s habit forming.
Peace
Now open!
