Well, it’s that time of year again…you know, time for all the DC, MD, VA, PA, NC, DE (and so forth) BooTribbers/Kossacks/MLWingers to meet up in person!
We had such a good time at Harper’s Ferry last year, Carnacki and I thought we should all do it again at a new location. So, here’s the plan for this year’s meetup in Baltimore on Saturday, May 27th:
We’d like to meet up with everyone at the water taxi landing in Fell’s Point at 11 AM and ride over to Fort McHenry for the day. After we’re done there, we can head back to Fell’s Point to wander around, and if it’s anything like last year’s meetup, a group of us will probably have dinner there too.
If you need a few more details, here’s the map to the Taxi landing in Fell’s Point: LINK. Parking is available at a city lot at Caroline and Lancaster (cheaper, but further away) or at Thames and Bond, by the Bond Street wharf (which is much closer, but more expensive).

Wish I could be there CG! I love Baltimore, and it would be great to get to meet some of the people I see on the screen so often. Alas, I’ll be toiling away here in the midwest in my cube and (more happily) in my garden that weekend. Hope you folks have a great time!!!

Tuesday before is my 60th birthday, and we may not be able to fully celebrate as I have to administer a state test the next morning. I’ll keep it in mind and let people know as we get closer.
With having yearlykos on my schedule less than two weeks later I worry that I will be crunched for time, especially as I am also tryhing to help with the Webb primary campaign here in Virginia.
What is the proper pronunciation of Baltimore?
To my ear it sounds like “Bawlmore.”
The word “Hon” (honey?) is added a lot in conversation. A friend from Baltimore mentioned that when a “Welcome to Baltimore” sign was put up that there were many who thought it should read, “Welcome to Baltimore, hon.”
