Well, one of them is busy starting my birthday cake, and I’ve already gotten the birthday hugs and kisses, and the phone calls from my family and friends (singing me happy birthday, of course) have already started. Life is good.
It’s a lovely quote. Of course, I’ll have to wait for the Radner quote to make a comparison.
Or maybe I shouldn’t read the Radner one as she almost killed me once — I was listening to ‘It’s Always Something’ while driving back home from St. Louis and near the end was crying so hard that I finally had to pull over because I couldn’t see where I was going.
Mornin, Andi. How come your cake has those fancy trick candles? Could it be because you are the HTML Queen? Hmmm? That’s a great cake. It’s times like this that I miss Catnip and her cheesecake.
Doing just fine, thanks. Couldn’t do anything strenuous outside because of weather, so I’m really extra peachy today. I hope you finished your cleaning yesterday, that’s always such a drag.
This might sound crazy, but I used to enjoy doing it when I had the energy. My daughters used to say, “Dad’s in another cleaning frenzy”.
I think with me it’s more organizing. I hate to spend an hour looking for something I know I have, but just don’t know where it is. Drives me up the wall. 🙂
Oh, you have that organizational gene. I’m so sorry. (tee hee) I once had a friend who was obsessive compulsive and when she left the room, my other friend and I would rearrange a drawer or a shelf. She would always find the offensive mess in one minute flat. Actually, I wish I could be more organized. Alas, it’s a learned skill for me. You could always rent yourself out to organize other people.
Trip was great, thanks for asking. The movers are supposed to be here in like 15 minutes to deliver our stuff, but when I saw it was your birthday you know I had to stop for cake. 🙂
Hi IndyLib. Moving day, huh? Come back later and maybe we can whip up a lasagna for you… minus the oregano, of course. Just in case Cabin Girl want’s a tiny taste.
You remembered! ( those conversations seem like years ago) It’s a good thing that our real cabins aren’t made out of chocolate… I’d eat my way outside every day. Have a wonderful birthday!!!
Hi Andi. So far it’s coffee and internet. Not so productive, but very enjoyable. The cake in here reminds me of Valentine’s Day in the gradeschool: you could smell the sugar in the air. yum.
a comment from Cali Scribe that she wasn’t crazy about going to see the Da Vinci code because the book wasn’t that good. I thought the same thing. I read it and when I got to the end I thought “This is it? This is the exciting book this year?” I really didn’t think it was all that good either. Anybody else in this boat? I thought that everybody was saying that the book was Good because it was a Good book, but I didn’t think it was in that ballpark after I read it. Of course I enjoyed the whole Jesus and Mary M thing, but it wasn’t the first time I had entertained such ideas. I remember as a child and knowing that adults never told me the whole story about stuff and they lied about sex all the time. When I learned the story of Jesus and Mary M it wasn’t long before the child who I was wondered about the closeness that they shared and then I just shrugged because these lying adults would never come clean with me about that so no need to wonder too long about it.
Hi Tracy. I love your sig line… Jim Hightower is a hoot. I haven’t read the book, don’t intend to. I grew up Catholic, parochial school, group masses, sang in the choir, the whole bit. You are right… I wondered about Mary M and Jesus when I was a kid as well. Mary always seemed to be around when the going got tough. When I got to high school, one priest laid the bombshell on us: that there was as much evidence that Jesus was married as not.
I’ve seen all those discovery shows on ‘the code’ and honestly, da Vinci’s artwork and inventions are much more fascinating to me. If he was keeping such a big hairy secret, why would he splash clues all over his artwork? Although, da Vinci was quite the character. The Catholic church is entirely capable of secrets, but it’s more likely that Mary was Jesus’ number one apostle. In a male dominated society and a male dominated infant Church, she was skuttled as a whore. THAT I believe.
Have a big slice of cake!
.
Love these celebrations – where is CG hiding?
A piece of cake is kept waiting …
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
▼ ▼ ▼ MY DIARY
I just had to celebrate by sleeping in a little.
Thanks, Oui!
Hi Oui! Now THAT’s a piehole.
Thanks! And just the right number of candles too… 🙂
It’s the Celsius version of your birthday.
So did the CBs save a bit of the love from Mother’s Day to spread around today?
Well, one of them is busy starting my birthday cake, and I’ve already gotten the birthday hugs and kisses, and the phone calls from my family and friends (singing me happy birthday, of course) have already started. Life is good.
So, question: Gilda Radner or Marcel Proust?
Radner or Proust? Madelines or ???? Watching old SNL skits or reading? Swann or Latella? Okay, I admit it; I need the question explained.
Nevermind…
I was torn between 2 quotes for today’s news bucket…Gilda will have to wait.
I was beginning to feel a little like emily. 🙂
Let me know if you approve of my choice…
It’s a lovely quote. Of course, I’ll have to wait for the Radner quote to make a comparison.

just good searching technique.
But I do happen to have some cheesecake for you.
Happy Happy Birthday CG.
Thanks, FM. How are you this morning?
I’m fine Birthday girl. I’m hoping you have just the B’day you want.
BTW you never have enough cake.
Wow, you make lovely b’day cakes.
Stayed up all night just to get it right. It had to be perfect for CG. It’s not everyday you turn 21.
You’re just the epitome of the southern gentleman.
No not really. I’m just to smart to start adding candles to any B’day cake. 🙂
It’s perfect just the way it is. (We’d probably have to call the fire depaartment if you put all the candles on.)
Mornin, Family Man. What a georgous cake.
Morning Nag. I hope you’re doing good today.

The worst is when your OCD family member keeps taking your coffee cup before you’ve finished with it…aarggh.
FM, will you straighten out my office for me?
I said I used to be that way. Now I have to dig under a ton of papers just to find a pen. 🙂
Happy Birthday, Cabin Girl! Let’s have log cabin chocolate cake for breakfast.
Mmm…chocolate!
How was the trip across country? Is your stuff in Ohio yet? Are you busy unpacking?
Trip was great, thanks for asking. The movers are supposed to be here in like 15 minutes to deliver our stuff, but when I saw it was your birthday you know I had to stop for cake. 🙂
Hi IndyLib. Moving day, huh? Come back later and maybe we can whip up a lasagna for you… minus the oregano, of course. Just in case Cabin Girl want’s a tiny taste.
Glad to hear you made it in one piece.
Good morning. Has your internal clock already adjusted to the eastern time zone?
Not really. It takes me a while to adjust coming back east. Eek, my movers are here, gotta go! See y’all later.
Morning Indy.
To go with all that cake!
Happy Birthday, Girl!!
We definitely need some caffeine to go with all the sugar!
OT, but I saw your book at the bookstore the other day! It’s going on my beach reading list for the summer…
Morning Kansas.
Hi, Kansas. That’s a good looking cuppa coffee. Hope you’re doing well.
Still on the constant move or is the book tour winding down?
Mmmmm all these cakes. I’m in su su su; su su su; su su su su sugartown… or is that sugarshack? or sugarcabin?
I don’t know, I need more coffe to wash down all this cake. (And to kick start that one good brain cell)
Aw, a cabincake from another cabin girl. Thanks!
You remembered! ( those conversations seem like years ago) It’s a good thing that our real cabins aren’t made out of chocolate… I’d eat my way outside every day. Have a wonderful birthday!!!
So what’s it to be today — ducks or horses or garden?
Hi Andi. So far it’s coffee and internet. Not so productive, but very enjoyable. The cake in here reminds me of Valentine’s Day in the gradeschool: you could smell the sugar in the air. yum.
You’re going to be stuffed full of cake today … and best wishes too!
Wishing you a super-duper wonderful day!!!
Thanks! I think we’re all going to need a shot of insulin pretty soon to go with all the cake….
… balloons and funny hats!
Hope you have a great day CG — and I hope you’re feeling better too… {{{CG}}}
What an adorable cake! And that’s just how I picture Cabin Girl.
Hope you’re doing well today!
Just phoned but you at Yoga. I hope you have a terrific Bday!
I’m back now…I’ll talk to you soon?
I got an A in my history class! I got an A in my history class! Spanish final was yesterday so I’ll find out about that one soon…
and happy birthday Cabin Girl 🙂
Congrats furryjester. I’m to old to dance, but I am raising my arm up and down while sitting in my chair.
Bravo!!!!
Many wonderful personal success stories out there in spite of Hitler being in office.
Morning Tracy.
Great news furryjester! It’s a great day for celebrating!

Does it count if I didn’t read past page three because the writing just didn’t grab me?
But, WOW, would I ever love to write a book that captures the public imagination the way this one has. Any suggestions as to plot line?
Hey, Cabin Girl, happy birthday fellow Taurus and fellow May 16 girl. It’s by far the best day to be born!

Yup! Mine, too! I always knew there was something special about Cabin Girl!
