Been a looooong spell since I’ve visited UF — pretty much not since I tackled my “Newbie’s Guide to Linux” for one of my techwriting classes (used a few strips as illustrations)…
I can’t believe you captured a salamander and a toad (was the spider in on that too) all in one shot!

The spider isn’t in the shot with the salamander. When I was trying to take a close-up of the toad, the salamander skedaddled. Then the spider hopped up on the toad’s back.
It’s amazing that you get any walking done on your ‘walks’ … there’s too much stuff to look at and explore and photograph!

Great jumpin toads a poppin! That’s a fine specimen you caught there Andi. Sure wish we could keep toads in our garden around here, but they don’t seem to stick around long, probably because it’s not wet enough during the hot part of the summer. Great critters! I love em… and so beneficial to have around if they stay.
So it’s not bedtime yet, huh?
I just read your comment and I wasn’t saying you were being cranky at us, just that the report really seemed to be getting to you … so I’m glad that it’s out of the way. And besides, if you want to be cranky w/ us that’s okay too. 🙂

Just a couple of minutes for me. I’ve already done the last of my work for the day which includes setting up the coffee maker so my boss doesn’t have to make his own coffee in the morning. I swear, if he wasn’t such a sweetie, I’d tell him to make his own damn coffee. Then again, I would have to drink his coffee, which is no doubt injferior to my own. :>)
I was the same way. I always made the coffee in my office. Not because no one would make it, but because I knew it wouldn’t be as good as mine. Same way with the dishwasher at home. It appears I’m the only one that knows how to load a dishwasher correctly. Go figure. 🙂

Glad you liked those… I got a bunch of other cool shots of the garden I can dole out later. Such as this really cool pic of a fern out in the “Woodland Garden” (which is our woodland theme garden conveniently located on the Woodland Ave. side of our house.)

re: the enlarge thing… yeah, need to do that, but if you use Firefox, just right click on the image, select view image and click on the magnifying thingie to get a bigger view.

Hello, my dear FM. Thanks for asking; my day’s gone better than yours has, I’m afraid.
The day turned out to be rather blustery, so it culling my belongings. I’m on the 30+ boxes of books now. It’s painful.

Yes old friends are hard to part with, but the future will bring new ones.

It’s a shame, though — much of what I have to part with will be impossible to replace.
However, this is yet another lesson in letting go. Indeed, one never knows ..

Y’know, FM, I’ve done this repeatedly throughout my adult life — gathering, letting go, gathering, letting go, as I moved around. This time’s a bit harder than the others have been, though. I’m letting go of both my home of 20 years and many of the personal belongings of the man I shared it with. It’s quite a process.
OK, to the food & fire. It’s gotten chilly here!

Even a man who is pure at heart, and says his prayers at night, may become a wolf, when the wolfbane blooms, and the autumn moon is bright! Only problem with that little rhyme is that wolfbane blooms in June … hardly autumn!
As to magical properties, yes… but you’ll have to ask C about that. It’s a gorgeous plant… will post pics when it blooms. Did you know it’s actually in the delphinium family? Makes perfect sense when you look closely at the leaves and the blooms and blooming habit.
I too need to get going and get something going for dinner. Taped KO earlier, so have to get my snarky news fix soon too.
