The secret is that I already am one. I just don’t ordinarily manage to get all l0 fingers co-ordinated this soon. Usually, the only ones that work this early are the few I need to hold the mug.
I’m wild enough about it for the both of us, so I’m jealous. I hope you have a good time!
A few years ago we were making a habit of going to Seattle’s Museum of History and Industry on Saturday mornings to watch live broadcast of a show called “Pot Luck.” I have no idea how many stations it aired on, or even if it got out on more than our local NPR affiliate. Unfortunately the show eventually broke up and everybody went their separate ways, but it was great fun for me because I’ve been a radio nut since I got my first five-tube radio back in 1963.
I’ll adopt a cosmic viewpoint then, Omir. If one of us goes to see Wait, we all go to see Wait. . . Somehow, I think you may find this less than satisfying, though.
Well, my granddaughter’s chorus is putting on a show tonight, so I hope you’ll enjoy seeing that as much as I’ll enjoy seeing Wait Wait.
She has a very hip chorus teacher. When she first started going to choir she said they were singing a song about trees. I thought, that’s very nice, are you going to sing it to me? I thought it would be some simplistic ditty about how trees are nice, trees are good or something, but no, she started piping up in her nine-year-old voice:
Took all the trees, put ’em in a tree museum
And charged all the people a dollar and a half just to see ’em
Any chorus teacher who is teaching Big Yellow Taxi to third-graders is OK with me.
Well, we don’t have central air – just window units, which we haven’t installed yet. It’s a contest every year to see how long we can stand going without them.
Oh well, I’ve got to get out to the garden to pull a few weeds, at least before leaving for work.
This being Seattle, we don’t have air conditioning. The temperature doesn’t get over 80 long enough to justify it. We do have lots of fans, though. (That’s now. Wait until global warming really gets going.)
So far this year the weather has been sort of odd, though. I thought we were in for a longer and hotter summer than usual, but it’s been cloudy, raining and cool since Memorial Day. The little weather doodad here on my desktop says it’s not supposed to get up over 65 through Saturday.
Hey there Andi, FM, Kansas, Omir, KS! Though it looks like it could rain here, I doubt that will happen, given my recent cynicism regarding rain. By that, I hope to prove myself wrong and see it coming down steadily outside. But no, I’ll be watering again tonight. Waaah. Ok, I’ll quit whining about it.
Hope everyone has a good day, gonna be a busy one for me, but hope to be able to pop in and out periodically here. FM, don’t go near the pond today, ok?
Just a hit and run as I prepare to report for jury duty under gestapo-like system….
Thanks for all the first-rate commiserating in the FBL last night! Yes, another sleepless night since everytime I fall asleep I wake myself up with loud bronchial breathing due to some kind of congestion in my lungs.
Fingers crossed (please!) that I don’t get put on a jury, as I’m sick and exhausted and it would just about destroy us financially. My boss is big on the importance of jury duty, but only gives one day on salary,… and then we’re on our own.
How’s everybody doing? We had a power outage earlier and it just came back on.
I heard a loud pop when it went out, and I knew what it was right away. Around here when you hear a loud pop it’s either a transformer or someone is shoot at someone else again. 🙂
Good Morning Andi. Any big plans for today?
BTW has anyone heard from SN? I saw on the news there was flooding there.
She’s fine. She said her street was flooded.
I’m planning on a typical day — go for a walk with the dogs as soon as the sun is up, piddle around on the web, and work.
What’s on your agenda?
Pretty much the same thing, but I will try to get outside again. I’ll just have to see if it works today.
G’morning, early risers. (I first typed “dearly risers,” lol. Well, that works, too.)
A friend invited me to a live performance tonight of “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me.” I’m not wild about the show, but I’ll bet it will be fun in person.
Good morning Kansas. Are you turning into an early riser now?
The secret is that I already am one. I just don’t ordinarily manage to get all l0 fingers co-ordinated this soon. Usually, the only ones that work this early are the few I need to hold the mug.
One of the few times I listened to Wait, Wait, Laura Lippman was on so you should a guest, not an audience member.
The radio show I’m addicted to is ‘Says You’.
I don’t know that one. Tell me more.
It’s a language game show. Lots of fun.
Dogs are doing the we-must-go-for-a-walk-now-or-we’ll-explode dance. See you later.
Sounds like fun. The game show, not exploding dogs. Go, go!
I’m wild enough about it for the both of us, so I’m jealous. I hope you have a good time!

Morning Omir.
Morning FM, how are things in your neck of the cybernetic woods?
“your neck of the cybernetic woods”
Sounds like something a chiropractor should see.
Morning again Omir. I had a case of electrus interruptus earlier and just got the power back on.
I’ll adopt a cosmic viewpoint then, Omir. If one of us goes to see Wait, we all go to see Wait. . . Somehow, I think you may find this less than satisfying, though.
I’ll report back in after the show.

lol! Well, if that’s typical of what they’re singing, I will enjoy it a lot.
Morning, everyone.
Hope everyone is facing a good day.
Morning Kidspeak.
Well, I wouldn’t turn my back on one. 😉
Good morning.
I’m just enjoying what may be the end of our good cool weather – highs in the low 70s at the most all this week. 90s again tomorrow, sadly.
Oh well. I have to go to la-la land tomorrow (Los Angeles), so maybe the heat will be gone when I get back on Monday.
FM, sorry to mention the heat, or gloat about the lack of it.
No problem about the heat Kidspeak. As long as I’ve got air conditioning I can venture out into it from time to time.
I figure it’s a trade off. During the winter while everyone is complaining about the snow and cold, I’ll be wearing shorts down here. 🙂
Be careful on the trip to la la land.

You were up late last night!
She’s on the radio now. kboo.org. Medea will be on too.

Check all you good froggies later!
Just hack up a lung while they’re questioning you and then spit into a styrofoam cup. They’ll probably excuse you. 🙂

LOL those are wonderful pictures Booman.
It’s pretty quiet in here. Come on over to the hammocks.
