We’re having slothful weather (storms), though I’m hoping it clears up for long enough to do a bike ride. What don’t you plan to do today?
It’s going to be another very hot day here today. We were expecting some rain here yesterday, but it never made it.
Today is finishing up in the house what I didn’t do yesterday. In otherwords, everything.

Good morning all. What a gorgeous picture that is, Andi. I’m beginning to realize how much I missed the woods living in Florida. It’s such a relief to come north.
Thanks. I love to hiking in the southwest and the northwest but I’m always happy to get back to our woods — I am extremely prejudiced toward the hardwood forest.

I almost forgot myself. I saw a bunch of garish Father’s Day cakes at the grocery on Thursday. I thought it was really dumb of them to have them out 10 days in advance. Ooops. Fortunately, I finally realized that it was THIS Sunday not next.
I feel more peaceful just looking at that photo.

I saw Al Gore’s movie last night. It’s worth it for the charts, alone, but I am embarrassed to admit that I have never come so close to falling asleep in a movie. Same with the friends I was with. Gore’s voice lulled me nearly to the Land of Nod. Honestly, it is very much like a campaign movie. I think I would have stayed awake better for more global warming stuff and less personal Gore stuff. But maybe that’s just me.

No I didn’t see the movie. I hardly ever go to movies and just wait for the DVD.
Some of the better stuff I’ve seen on global warming has actually been on the History Channel.
Maybe it was Omir. I could keep guessing. 🙂

I think he’s hard to listen to.
Well, it was funny, kb, because the problem was that he was actually too easy to listen to. He had toned down that awful sing-song, up and down kind of intonation he had during the campaign, and his voice in the movie is soft, pleasant, mellifluous, even. Put me right to sleep. He looked great, though. 🙂
I’ll wait until it comes out on DVD, then stretch out on the couch to watch.

Okay, thanks for asking. The hubby seems to be doing fine. The dog looks worse than she did yesterday. I think that it is due to the anesthesia wearing off and the fact that the drain is working well — making her look a mess. She’s eaten a tiny bit and drunk a little watter. I was able to get her pills in her, but she wasn’t happy, even though they were wrapped in peanut butter.
I can’t get your story out of my mind. I am so sorry that happened. I really think that man should be arrested.
I had a terrible dream that I was somehow forced to remarry my ex – and when I tried to divorce him he wanted custody of the kids.
And in reality I am out of half and half so life hardly seems worth living.
Got any ice cream. Use that.
Ice cream cures everything. Should I use it in my coffee or smear it on my head to erase the dream?

As I was telling Andi, we were supposed to get rain yesterday, but didn’t. Hopefully this afternoon because we’re getting to the point of needing it.
Plus, it’s damn hot right now.
I just told Mr. Nature that it is traditional on Father’s Day to cater to the every whim of the Mother™ so he’s going to get the half and half.

Went to the store, discovered they now sell pints of fresh cream in cute little returnable glass bottles. Not mere Half ‘n’ Half, mind you. REAL CREAM. Cold. Clear. Clean. From local cows allowed to roam and graze over pastoral hill ‘n’ dale.
Oh, dear. Now I’ve gone and done it. Half ‘n’ Half wasn’t fat enough? I’d better hope I don’t like it.

What a weekend!! Went on the Hawthorne bridge and protested with Medea. Then heard her speak. Then stood with others (Including BOHICA) at the Veteran’s for Peace Vigil.
I can’t say what day or time or where – but I was able to listen to Lt. Watada speak… I’ll be posting a diary seeking help to help him.

Many others joined us from the Veterans for Peace and some others who had heard the radio alerts. I’d say a good 90% of the commuters and bike riders gave us honks, peace signs, thumbs or cheers. About 8% did nothing. 2% flipped us off. It was incredible!!!!
