I stayed up until 2:00 am finishing a book, and then shortly after falling asleep I had an unfortunate encounter with a giant cockroach which started my adrenaline flowing and I couldn’t get back to sleep for, like, ever.
Thank you. You know I was just thinking about your cockroach. Giant cockroaches in certain parts of the world are considered delectable. You could have had a mid-night snack.
Last Friday I was in a little Missouri town where Miracle Whip was included in the description of every dish in a restaurant that uses it. Say it loud and proud. 🙂
Looks like it. Got family coming in tonight and Family Mom told me last night she would get up early and help with the cleaning. I asked her did she think she could vacuum the whole house. She said no, she would pick up the newspapers from the coffee table.
So I’m trying to get myself into cleaning mode.
We didn’t get any rain and my lawn is turning a nice shade of light brown. Lovely. 🙂
Just stopping in briefly. I probably won’t be around much for the next two weeks or so. I’ll be in Maine for a conference for a chunk of that and trying to get the book finished for the rest. I got a flash of an idea this morning that gave me the last piece of the ending and my fingers are seriously itching to hit the keyboard. Also have a workshop to write and some mom-stuff to deal with. Have a wonderful froggy time!
Tea for today: Clouds & Mist Green Organic. A green tea from the Chinese island of Zhoushan.
Well, as good as a Monday gets anyway. How is everybody?
I had a pretty good weekend. Went to see The Foreigner at the local theater, which is a very funny play and we all had a good time. Then on the way home we went past a Moroccan restaurant that we had never noticed in our neck of the woods, so we stopped in, spent two hours eating dinner and got to see a belly dancer in the process, which my granddaughter was muchly awed by (especially the part where she danced with a sword balanced on her head).
Then yesterday we had the tribe over for a Father’s Day cookout. Steak, chicken, potatoes baked on the grill, fruit salad . . . the only thing missing was the lemonade. We bought lemons but I couldn’t find our citrus juicer and am way too lazy to squeeze them out by hand.
Hi Kansas, Kelly and Omir. I’m taking a break from a day that’s not starting out too well. Needless to say an errant cat and flooding dishwahers do not make the start of a good day.
Good morning fellow Frog Pond residents! I do really wish I did not have to be up at this absurdly early time. 🙁
Would it help if we said we’re sorry to see you here so early? 😉
I’ll feel sorry for you, but I’m glad to see you here this morning.
Good morning Andi and PsiFighter37.
It’s another cleaning day for me. I’ve got relatives coming in tonight. At least they say they are. They might and might not.
How’s everybody today?
Are these people that George and Cat like or hate?
Certainly are. Family Mom was saying last night, it has been so quiet around here because George hasn’t been barking lately.
I have a feeling in the next day or two I’ll be climbing the walls because of George’s barking.
Oh the joys of family life. 🙂
It’s already too freakin’ hot and humid here in NY. How I hate Mondays…
I’m sorry, but I had to laugh. Try high 90’s with 80% humidity. Instant steam room. 🙂
Now for Coffee.
Enjoy the coffee and have a great day.
The dogs and I are off to go walk in the rain. See ya.
Morning KB.

So I’m feeling less than chipper this morning.
Morning SN, or maybe afternoon to you.
Ugh..thanks. Beautiful story on your b, as usual.

With Miracle Whip, no doubt.
Time for coffee. Be back later.
See ya.

Morning, all.
In the Late Nite cafe if you were up … 🙂
Good morning everyone.
Morning Olivia.
LOL … Just over reading your b … Lovely.
And it sounds like you have a busy day planned.

If it goes brown?
Well at least you don’t have to worry about the coffee table … 🙂
It’s going to t-storm here today, but rain is needed.
I better go now … I’ve got an early morning apt.
Have a good day FM! I hope you get to slack as much as possible … 🙂
Have a good day Olivia.
I’ve got to get started too.
See ya.

Sounds like you’re having an I Love Lucy kind of morning.
Yeah but I’m going to salvage the day. However, it’s one of those things where I keep wonder, “OK, what next.”
New cafe open here.
