To be fair, it is just about the only part of the song that’s singable. What an ugly tortured melody that is. Most people can’t begin to sing it.

Commadore played with Calgary during the Sharks attempt in which they got slapped by Iginla and Commadore. I’m bitter. I haven’t moved on. 🙂
MOst of the Sharks aren’t American. Most are Canadian so it was really ugly when a few assholes booed the Canadian anthem when the Oilers played us.
I think we have like 14 guys who are Canadian. They wrote that they felt hurt by the boos.
I’m afraid there’d be no hockey teams in America if you excluded Canadians. Kinda like Americans on Canadian baseball teams. Do they even have major league baseball in Can. anymore?
Toronto Blue Jays … they won the World Champs in 1992 and 1993 and have done nothing since then.
What happened to Montreal? Did they move back to DC and become the Nationals?
I guess baseball just doesn’t do it for us up here, otherwise they wouldn’t have attendance issues.

I can’t stand our anthem. I refuse to sing it or cross my heart to it now. I can’t even look up at the flag now during it. It’s grotesque. I wish they’d do away with anthems at sporting events.
My point was that a good portion of the ‘Canes are Canadian, so I don’t think them belting out that portion of the anthem means what you think it means.
I always thought our anthem should be America the Beautiful. Nothing about wars or bombs.

I’m watching in online. I just figured it would be wgn. There’s this impending storm with black clouds obscuring the top of the Terminal Tower. It looks like that movie The Day After Tomorrow. It’s not raining yet so they’re still playing.
Cubs are up 6-3. They just have to finish this 5th inning for it to be a complete game before the storm starts.

Odds are probably in the cubbies favor at this point — it’s traditional for them to pretend to be a functional team until the all-star break.
Whereas the Indians stink up the place before the all star break and then make a mad dash toward the wild card spot, falling tragically short at the end.

You should grow these! I haven’t planted a seed in about 3 years. They drop them in place and come back wherever they feel like it… I have a few seeds from an old pack left I’m going to throw out and see what happens. Can’t say enough about these weirdo flowers, so I’ll save it for my b-thingie.

It’s very schizophrenic for me.
Hockey is not one of the low stress hobbies for a gal who has tons of stress in her personal and political life. LOL
But I refuse to give it up – hockey that is.
But at least you can also get some of it out by hurling invectives and such … you know, screaming at the top of your lungs is a good stress reliever.
