Karl Rove: “The Internet for the Left of the Democratic Party has served as a way to mobilize hate and anger — hate and anger, first and foremost, at this President and Conservatives, but then also at people within their own party whom they consider to be less than completely loyal to this very narrow, very out-of-the-mainstream, very far Left-wing ideology that they tend to represent.”
Dr. Mathias: [referring to Dr. Simon Tam who has just helped his sister, River Tam, escape] “Gave up a brilliant future in medicine as well. It’s madness.”
The Operative: “Madness?”
[Ambles over to the holographic projection of River and Simon escaping through an air vent]
The Operative: “Have you looked at this scan carefully, Doctor? At his face? It’s love, in point of fact. Something a good deal more dangerous.”
13 But now faith, hope, and love remain-these three. The greatest of these is love.
Dear Mr. Rove,
You recently described the blogs on the left as mobilized over “hate and anger.”
I know you didn’t mean it. It is just another of your Orwellian lies. But in case anyone on your side politically believes you, I thought I should explain the difference between love and hate.
Hate is telling someone who they can and cannot love and hold, in sickness and health and for better or worse.
Hate is accusing widows that they were happy when their husbands died in the attacks that your boss failed to take action to prevent despite numerous warnings he had received.
Hate is comparing the murder, rape, torture and degradation of fellow human beings as no different than a fraternity hazing.
Hate is lying to the nation in order to lead the people into an unjust and unnecessary war.
That is hate.
You see, I’m angry because I do love my country. I love her Constitution. I love her people in all their glorious variety.
If I did not love, I would not struggle so hard to stop you. I would simply walk away. I would be apathetic. I would surrender.
But I love.
I love my ability to speak my mind. I love my privacy. I love my daughters so I want them to be treated fairly and equally. I love peace. I love my friends. I love the truth. I love scientific discovery.
You fight for the things you hold dear: your brothers in arms; your family; your nation; your liberty.
You mistake us, sir. We do not hate. We love. And that should frighten you.
Hate will keep you warm, but it’ll burn you up inside. Love will see you through to the end even if it is the cruelest of emotions.
BRAVO sir….BRAVO…
I love your kind of love brother…. ; )
peace, may it always be with you and yours.
Thanks!
Way to go Carnacki!!! Shine the light for us to walk along with you.
Love would melt down this cabal we call the Bush Admin, just like water melted the wicked witch. They would just disappear. (And not a moment too soon!)
HEY!
That only works in Hollywierd.
The witches I know, even (especially?) the wicked ones, bathe regularly.
And while some of them DO melt on occasion it’s not precisely speaking a water issue.
Brilliant, Carnacki. Recommended highly
hatred for Karl “Big Rogue” Rove and his neocon-stricted philosphy embodied in the rogue Republican administration’s policies of Limbo “How Low Can He Go?” Leader.
Thanks. It’s amazing. Hate really destroys the hater. Love empowers. Nothing great ever came into this world born of hate. But amazing things come from love.
One of the children’s books that stuck with me for all time was the story “A Wrinkle In Time.” It was about how love is the strongest force in the universe, and how nothing natural or supernatural could face it down.
Love this diary. Thanks for reminding of of the Power of Love. Gotta go find some Huey Newton now…!
I meant Huey Lewis and the News!! Not the Black Panther. Name dyslexia!
The Republicans have stolen at least two elections that we know about.
They’ve hijacked my tax dollars and given them to the undeserving.
They’ve sent my friends and brothers and sisters off to die for nothing but their vain glory.
They’ve poisoned our air, endangered our wildlife, cut back on protection of our natural resources and would gladly sell huge portions of wilderness down the river for another year’s worth of SUV fuel.
And when we dare to point this out, they call us traitors, hell spawn, the vilest names they can think of, all because we love our country and we want to see it set right.
I can’t imagine why they would think I might be angry.
But hate them? No. They aren’t worth the effort. Hate the things they stand for, perhaps. Which, if you’re keeping score, do not include Mom, apple pie and baseball. They stand for unbridled greed and unchecked power. They don’t give a damn about me, you, or their supporters — in fact, they don’t give a damn about anyone but themselves. That’s what they stand for. Themselves, and nothing else. That’s the part I want to see destroyed — their ability to feed that greed.
Amen, Amen, Amen.
Thank you Carnacki.
Hey Carnacki. . .still one of my favorite writers and I still love ya to pieces.
Very nice work and very true words.
Hugs
Shirl
Thanks, my friend.
Thanks Carnacki – It was my love for you that forced me to click on your provocative title. You are so clever!
Can you imagine some right winger coming over here and seeing this at the top of the recommended list getting all excited, thinking “Yes! They have come to my point of view!” (Except he probably spells badly in his thoughts the way righties usually spell) and then clicking on the link to read it? I hope that happens.
I never knew Mark Twain knew Karl Rove until I found this quote today:
Great diary, Carnacki. Many thanks!
And this one is usual dead on! They say black is white, good is bad, war is peace, and especially hate is love (and vice versa) and just take it for granted that we all will just buy into it.
I think of all of the evils they perpetuate, I grit my teeth the most at their sheer, unadulterated EGO.
Now of course when it eventually bites them between the split, I wouldn’t want to be in the same time zone 🙂
Thank you for a great diary.
