Thanks, Andi.
I was fast asleep by 8.30 last night and would have been much earlier if it were not for curly’s insistence that I push it as late as possible. Would probably have been up at 2 otherwise. Jet-lag can be a drag.
Rainy and humid in NY, can’t believe I’m going in today.
Enough whining. Hope everyone will have a great day.
Morning Ask. I was just reading about you leaving next week. Just when you’re getting over jet lag, you’re back in it again. That’s too much travel, too soon.
Slacking advice. Have in your contract, no jets, only cruises ships. Other than that, I don’t know.
Hi, guys, and welcome home, ask. You do get around!
I’m off early to the hosp. today to sit with my mom and wait for her angiogram. This will be her 4th. Hey, it’s so much fun she had to do it three more times.
Y’all have a great day and don’t let doctors stick anything in you unless it’s absolutely necessary, okay?
I used to travel about 40% of the time and I came to hate it because of the combination of the stress of travel, the stress of trying to get everything done in a limited amount of time, and the stress of being away from home. I know how important your job is but I’m sorry that it has to take you away from all that you love so often.
Good Morning everyone! It’s my vacation but blogs never sleep. I’ve got the morning stuff done at Eat4Today and now I can alternate between couch and cafe without guilt!
I’m going to spend a lot of it with my in-from-out-of-town-sister (but not today) and maybe make a new blog. I’m thinking of something along the lines of ‘frivolous stuff for serious people’ for talking about books and movies and maybe toys. Mostly fun stuff, not political. And also an actual E4T Exercise Blog. Where I’d post little movies of me learning an exercise. This would be half-funny (because I’m not very graceful) and half-educational.
In my case, getting up and down from the couch is exercise. I don’t know what it is about that couch — it seemed just fine when we bought it about three years ago — but nowadays it seems too low, or someone turned up the gravity in its vicinity, or something.
I just want you all to know that nature is taking its revenge on me today. The temperature is supposed to get up to 90 today. Since my brain shuts down somewhere around 79, the commute is not going to be fun.
Yesterday was kind of a tough one too. We had all the grandkids over while their parents helped #2 son move. On the one hand, it was pretty hot in the house and I had to go hide outside in the shade because it was cooler than being inside. On the other, I grilled some chicken so the kids would have something to eat when they were done working, and my five-year-old grandson came outside to sit with me and have a bud-to-bud talk, which we both enjoyed. There was ice cream involved. That helped.
Among other things, he decided he wanted to be a bee. I told him he might want to rethink that, because if he was a bee, first, he would go buzzzz all the time, second, he would die if he stung somebody, third, he would never get to eat anything but nectar out of flowers, and fourth, he’d be a girl. Such things are important when you’re a five-year-old boy.
You know, I could get behind being a turtle. There was a story last week about how a Galapagos tortoise that Charles Darwin brought to Australia died recently. She gave kids rides on her back for many many years and lived to be 176. Sounds like a great life to me!
Whether it is good is still being debated. We’ll get back to you when a resolution has been reached.
I was waiting for this to show up eventually. Good morning Andi!
Good morning (actually the debate continues to rage).
What you need to do is to sleep later — then you wouldn’t have to wait as long.
Heh. I wish I had the luxury.
No debate here. I want more sleep, but have been up since 4.
Morning, all. Grump.
though sorry about the sleep problems, which I’m guessing a part of the re-adjustment (I always have much more trouble coming back than going).
Thanks, Andi.

Good morning Andi, Psi, and Ask.
Hope evryone’s day is starting out good.
So far so good … Hope yours is as well.
Morning Olivia. Glad to hear it’s going good so far.
Is it still FCH?
Still some lingering FCH activities. I think it should be resolved either today or by Wed at the latest.
I’ve got to run for an early meeting. Hope you have a good day and rest yourself up! 🙂
Thank Olivia and you have a good day too.
Good morning, FM.
I need some slacking advice. How to achieve it when already over-committed?

Hope you get over your jet lag soon.
Thanks, I’ll have a serious talk with my boss 😉
Unfortunately, the only cruises on the horizon are barge travels up/down the White Nile in Sudan.
Sounds dangerous. You be careful.
BTW will the barge have a casino, and drinks and room service? If not, I think I would have a talk with my booking agent. 🙂

Hi Kansas. Best wishes to your Mom, and best wishes to you. You’ve been on the move a heck of a lot lately.
Best wishes to you and your mom … I hope it goes smoothly.
Thanks, kansas.
Hope the outcome is reassuring for your mom and you.
I have more travel coming up than I care for. Heading overseas again coming Saturday for a week. Then again in August.

I’ve got to get the day started, so everyone have a good day in the pond.

Hey kb! What have you got planned for your vacation time?
I’m going to spend a lot of it with my in-from-out-of-town-sister (but not today) and maybe make a new blog. I’m thinking of something along the lines of ‘frivolous stuff for serious people’ for talking about books and movies and maybe toys. Mostly fun stuff, not political. Maybe.
Sounds like a productive vacation! Those sound like really good ideas. I especially see the promise in the videos of learning a new exercise.
Thanks, SN. But, I forgot the most important thing I’ll be doing. Spending lots of quality time on the couch. (gazing to the left with a longing look)
First exercise – creative ways of getting to the couch. The couch-approach crawl. The couch-approach crabwalk. You get the picture.
In my case, getting up and down from the couch is exercise. I don’t know what it is about that couch — it seemed just fine when we bought it about three years ago — but nowadays it seems too low, or someone turned up the gravity in its vicinity, or something.

Five year old boys and ice cream. Now you’re talking about my favorite stuff.
When he was that age one of my sons decided he wanted to be a turtle when he grew up. Sounds perfect to me!
You know, I could get behind being a turtle. There was a story last week about how a Galapagos tortoise that Charles Darwin brought to Australia died recently. She gave kids rides on her back for many many years and lived to be 176. Sounds like a great life to me!
Plus, you’d never be homeless and people don’t expect you to move very fast.
new cafe open.
