See you all when the Left Coast starts to stir
And good morning to those just (I hope) getting up.
Good morning!
Same to ya’. Got any new diaries in the works?
I posted one last night on dKos that I’ll repost here today when I get the chance. It’s an extensive work analyzing Friday’s WSJ article on executive pensions. I already posted it at the Orange Place and at the blog I post at in my sig.
I’ll be sure to read it.
With alot of help from my Pink Lady, I managed to get my first Pink press release off… a tad bit late but off. We didn’t get things finalized till yesterday as it was.
Got a call late last night from a Vet who will be “observing” to make sure things “stay calm”. He thanked us but also warned us that the word is that this could get hostile due to … well you know… Bush Supporters and people think it’s “patriotic” to support the troops even at the expense of sanity.
I will be safe.
Take care. Over and out.
Good morning everyone. It appears I really overslept today.
How’s everyone in the pond?
I guess you needed your sleep … are you all rested up now?
Morning Olivia. Yeah I guess I did. I sure slept enough.
How’re you doing today?
Me too, FM – I got up about 30minutes ago and just had my first cup of coffee. Mmmmm coooofffffeeeeee. Remember that? š
You’re mean when you just up aren’t ya. š
Yes I remember coffee. I’ve been wondering if I downed a pot could I get everything done around here in a day.
We deserve to sleep in after the night we had.
Woooooo weeee! You were good last night. I guess it’s true what they say about Southern Boys™
Just thought I’d liven up the cafe. š
You’ll have to drink two extra cups of coffee for FM and me. I do miss it.
I gave up coffee for a year and then I figured I was just taking away one of the only vices I really have. I just enjoy the heck out of it and I only have 1 or 2 cups a day.
It did get to rolling pretty good last night. š
Oh sure, pretend like I was talking about the Cafe. š
You know us polite and compliant people. We don’t like to take credit. š
If I recall you weren’t too polite last night. But you did take orders well.
Me not polite? Must have been someone else.
Did you ever get Mr. Nature’s train stop for him?
Heh. He ended up walking 25 city blocks to his fancy schmancy hotel. He needed the exercise.
Yeah I’m sure. You probably got him to within 20 feet of his hotel. What a nice SN you are. š
I didn’t help him. The map I had didn’t have el stops on it and I guess he didn’t think of calling the hotel.
At least it was a nice night for a stroll in Chicago and he did write me a little lovey email when he got there.
25 blocks? I’m sure it would have been cab time for me if it was more than, say 100 yards. š
Mr. Nature is strange. He is the most generous man and the cheapest man I’ve ever met all rolled into one. He thought the cab fare was exorbitant.
I’ve got relatives like that.
If I think I’m going to be ripped off I won’t spend the money, but I figure after 2 blocks I would have a heart attack and be gone anyway, so why not.
I’ll stop now. I thought maybe if I got crude enough it would lure Andi out of her “working” mode.
She has to high a work ethic for that.
I that doesn’t get her into the cafe, I don’t know what would. š
I was in doctor mode — and I only had to wait 20 minutes (plus a a hour round trip driving time) for 2 minutes with the doc.
I hate when that happens. It’s one of those things where your time isn’t of value and the doctors is.
I have to go tomorrow. My female doctor left the practice and now the PAs are covering her patient list. I’ve had fluid trapped in my ears and a sore throat for a month or more and I figured I better get it taken care of before I fly next week.
I’d rather go to a PA or nurse practitioner any day over a doctor — my experience has been that they really take their time and listen well.
I feel the same way. I thought the male doctors in the practice were covering for her so I put off going. Thump me on the head.
I’ve been really lucky with my Family Physician. She’s a good listener and she takes her time. Of course you’re going to wait awhile to get into see her, but you know she’s never rushed.
I’m glad to hear that you go to a female doctor. Many men feel funny about it. You are more evolved than your average male I guess.
Actually it was the luck of the draw. She was the closest that took my insurance. Didn’t matter to me anyway though. If she hadn’t been someone I liked, I wouldn’t have gone back to her. Actually both my doctor and my dentist are both female at the moment.
I’m a new age man I guess. š
It’s raining today … supposed to rain for the rest of the wk and on Sat (Canada Day).
Do you have a busy day planned?
having all kinds of class in the morning while I show myself to be a lowlife.
It’s that whole after midnight… thing … š
Sorry to hear about all the rain. We could use some here. Well everywhere around here except my lawn. It would make things grow you know.
I’m feeling like today will be a major slack day. I haven’t been up that long and I feel like a nap already. š
We have mushrooms growing in the lawn from all of the rain. One of them is the size of a good pork loin.
I’ve got mostly leaves and stick on my lawn from the last shower we had. I’ll have to get those up one day.
We have mushrooms growing everywhere too. And it’s another wet day here. Not raining now, but thunderstorms expected a little later.
I feel like a mushroom. When is the sun coming back?
The sun?
I remember when we had all that rain here I thought the sun was gone for good.
People are never happy. Too much sun, too much rain, to hot or to cold. See why I never go out. It’s nice and comfortable here in my little shack.
Oh don’t make it sound like a shack, Jethro. I’ve seen pictures and looks comfy and nice as all heck.
Yes I have to agree I am proud of my shack.
Especially when you get varied weather — more extremes to grumble about. š
Yeah, and SN’s right — some shack ya got there!
I feel like I can’t wake up. And it’s been like this since Friday night. Ick.
I like a day or two of rain and clouds. But when it stretches out I feel the same way. You need some sun to feel really awake.
And I just want everything to dry out. It hasn’t been hot enough to really need the AC, but it’s so wet I finally turned it on this morning.
It’s hot and wet here. (No snickering) The downstairs windows are all fogged up from the inside of the house being cool and dry and the outside being wet. Makes me feel even more closed in.
I’ve been that way for years. Hell a couple of years I know I slept through, because I can’t remember them. š
I’ll bet Mrs. X Family Man remembers them.
No those were some of the good years I can’t remember. Unfortunately, the bad ones I can’t forget. š
You definitely have my sympathy — when we had our two weeks of solid rain, I began to understand how people who have SAD feel.
Yeah, my motivation is completely lacking today. And I need to study for my final and write for work and clean the house and, and, and…sigh.
a simple slug sex will work just as well — it’s my version of Manny’s “Holy Chihuahua”.
I felt I needed the whole thing right there. Maybe it will wake up Cabin Girl. Or make Family Man feel grossly inadequate. Anyway, my job is done.
Slug sex. Just what I needed to think about this morning.
Good job SN … š
Hi Andi!
(What really worked was getting back from my doctor’s appointment but I like the idea that the slug sex did it)
I like your new flower icon.
The flower was from the orchid conservation … it’s very rare … in that it’s one of the few flowers I’ve taken w/ a lens other than the 50mm. š It was the 17-70mm which I had on to take the whole lake pic and was too lazy to change. (Did you see the two pix I posted last night here?)
Thanks for the link — the flower is gorgeous and the place is beautiful.
Okay, really going to work now.
I’ve got to get everybody up and moving. Going over to visit the 99 year old Aunt today.
See ya’ll later.
I’ve got a long con call this afternoon that I need to prep for. See you all later.
Not much sleep thanks (or no thanks) to my cough…so I think I’ll be making a trek to Urgent Care for the “good stuff”, aka cough syrup with codeine. Also need to get in some more groceries, tackle another suitcase (got one unpacked yesterday) so I can find my camera cable, and eat very lightly the next few days…I brought back about four pounds, but not sure how much of that is water retention from the heat — noticed my shoes were fitting very tightly yesterday.
Hope I can get a little something done despite the temperatures…supposed to be a little cooler today but it’s been kinda muggy.
from MN Saturday at the Pekin, ND Art Show and they sang a song for me relating to my past activist “history”.

We had a great visit. I told them about BT. And the CD I bought, Sowing Seeds, was great!!!

I think a pulse is starting to stir in my veins now. Nuthin’ alittle caffeine won’t fix.
Cameron Dias to you too, Manny.
Pulse is good.
I wonder if she changed hair gels yet?
May I just say….Ew?
OMG, you mean she’s changed to sheep semen now?
you appear to be the only customer in the cafe, besides my intermittent appearances.
I had a not-so-bright thought last night to join some friends at a downtown club for 80s night. Coffee doesn’t seem to taste as well with a tylenol chaser.
excitement for embarrassment and you’re on the road to characterizing some of my actions last night on the dance floor š How goes it in yer neck of the big slab of rock?
need. more. coffee. of course I meant “substitute embarrassment for excitement…”
Come on over and greet new BooTribbers at the Froggy Bottom Cafe Welcome Wagon
