Since you liked the “Masaii .., I tried to find a file of some of the sculptures & couldn`t find the files so I just shot these a few mins. ago.
I thought I had taken the one down that I was going to send, then realized
after downloading the shot, I didn`t know which was which.
So I set up again & shot them both. I just put both shots on the same canvas. These are shot with a regular flashlight [in the kitchen drawer]
at one second. The blue is from my tank Actinic light.

very subtle how the grain of the wood plays across the facial and neck of the carvings…beautiful pieces. Are they fairly large…lifesize?
They`re 8″ tall.
Tanks: I have 4 coral reefs, that are completely different but basically, here`s one in the livngrm. I have two more in another outbuilding, & another 2 feet behind me in my detached office. I sold a species specific tank of Amazon Discus & I slowly giving away about 50 fish in a 240 gal.
8 foot long freshwater tank. I stopped breeding angel fish. I had 4 tanks of those & had hundreds per batch. Sometimes they would lay 200 eggs, other times, they would lay many more. I`d wait till there was a big batch & pull them out & put them in a fry tank. It`s just as easy to raise 100 as it is to raise 10, so that`s why I`d wait for the large batches. I`d raise them till they were the size of a nickle, & bring them to local fish stores & trade them for corals or whatever, for my reefs. To feed the angel fry, I set 2 up brine shrimp hatcheries. The shrimp eggs hatch after 24-36 hrs, butvthe fish need to eat more often, so I would stagger the brine shrimp hatcheries by 12 to 18 hrs. & always had fresh food.
I make my own salt water with reverse osmosis water, & always have a batch on hand.
It seems like a 30 hr. a day job, but once you have all systems go, it just runs itself. It`s like someone with two dogs, a cat & a turtle. They need to eat, take you for walks, clean up the poop, go to the vet,bla bla,,.
I go to the market & get whatever is fresh in the seafood section like squid, scallops, wild salmon, clams. A little garlic extract, some blanchedgreens & I`m done for the day.
If any of you are interested you can see 2 galleries of photos on a reef site. You have to register, but it only takes a min, & you can go anywhere on it. There are about 100,000 members worldwide, & I`m in touch with people from all over the world.
Some very reknowned scientists are member hobbyists & everyone is great. You can ask ?`s of anyone, & also leave comments on any picture in any gallery.
The site is” reefcentral.com”. Go there & search ” KNUCKLEHEAD” or “37 FLATHEAD”.

As a builder you may be interested in some areas such as this.
If you go to discussion forums, [on the right, main page] & scroll down to large tanks. Open there & check for anyone building a new tank, sometimes in a new house or in a remodel, & the construction prep at the
initial stage. Retrofitting a largetank into a building is a bummer sometimes.
There`s also people on the site who seem to have more money than brains. They order every lastest gizmo with all the bells & whistles, & think there going to have a showtank next month. I love these guys, because you can get a lot of the same stuff a few months after they figured out they bit off more than they could chew. That same stuff is at their garage sales at pennies on the dollar. haha.
At the same time they`re starting up a tank, they eschew good advice from people in the know. Even I do not consider myself one of those in the know, compared to some very very knowledgeable people.
It`s definitely a great feedback & learning site.

Nothing happened to Rolly or Pepa I hope.
No, not yet, but soon. C’s boss just got promoted to a job where she will be traveling all the time and is selling her house, so we’re most likely inheriting Andy. Not what either of us really wanted at this point, but we couldn’t see him going to a shelter or someone who answered an ad in the paper. Personally, I think she planned this all along, since we had said we would take him if she couldn’t find a good home for him. She never tried.
Yes, I feel a bit railroaded, but it’s not because I don’t like the dog, it’s more out of concern for Rolly and his status as alpha male in the house. Pepa will love having a new pup to boss around, but he’s a bit crotchety these days and I want to respect that.
he’s 8 yrs old and recently lost his buddy Barney (yes, they were named after the Andy Griffith Show … cringe).
I’ve only met him a couple of times but liked him as he was very friendly and lively… how well he will fit in remains to be seen, but we’ll see. Looks like he will be coming to live with us sometime next week, at least for the interim. He’s a sweet little dog, but not sure he’s a right fit given our current configuration with Rolly kind of on the waning side. Honestly, it’s just another source of worry for me right now with everything else, but I’m hoping it turns out well and that maybe our neighbor will fall in love with him and we can give him to her or my sister… nuff said.
It has to be a scary time for him then, w/ losing his buddy and his owner. How do you think Pepa and Rolly will take to him?
I think Pepa will be just fine… Rolly, I’m not so sure. He’s getting deaf now, creaky in the joints (like me) and a bit daft on occasion. I think overall they will be welcoming as they always are, but the adjustment is scaring me at least.

just meet him and we’ll see how she reacts. There is a cat issue at her house and we have no idea if he has any exposure to them. C wants this dog a lot. I may come around to the idea, but right now, with everything else weighing down on me, I’m hesitant.

I`ll take some [nice] shots tomorrow of the worts. I like them this year as they are real healthy & mixed in with the honey-suckle flowers. A few years ago they were infested with aphids & I`d prefer the look of warts
to the look of aphids on worts.
