It’s been a quiet day — is anyone around? I’m pretty beat. Some jerk was setting off fireworks until 3am.
I feel your pain. I had a neighbor at it till 1 am and I had to get up at 4 :30 am.
I went outside to check out the fireworks. Every intersection (Military GRID) of our neighborhood had stuff going off. Even ones that shot up into the aira nd exploded with a display. Sadly my back neighbor had one shoot off into her window while they slept. One chased Danni and her friend down the street aways.
I LOVE that diner, Izzy. It’s so retrocool.

I don’t know what the house specialty is — I’ve never been in an airport lounge. Something pretty? or… international? I’m sure they’ve got it all.
now that I look about, there IS a resemblance to a correctional facility … maybe I came to the wrong place today.
That’s one reason I like being in a business that doesn’t so much run on the clock. Sort of like (you knew I’d get there sooner or later, didn’t you?)…

Did I metnion that I now have 30 separate task billing codes for what used to be covered by only 3 codes? What a nightmare…
Ugh. I feel for you.
They always think that if they break it down into more codes they’ll be able to keep track of bills better — but it never works any better. It just makes life difficult for the timekeeper.
And eventually they have to add a code that let’s you track the time you spend trying to decide which code to use.
We have those administrative codes — but even though you can charge time to them, the time doesn’t count for anything. So all it does is hurt your numbers.
That apparently didn’t think the freelance/contract writer needed an admin code, cause it’s not on my sheet. So, I have to figure out which task I can dump that time on…more aggravation.

The French won their game and damn there were some cuties on the field. LOL I am waiting for a Democracy for Texas meeting that meets here tonight. I am having a couple of absolutes and tonics and will have some dinner and probably a couple more drinks during the meeting and then go home. LOL I am wearing my forget dinner I just filled the gas tank shirt and getting lots of great comments.

And the water droplet is very nifty.
That is the whole flower, but it was 99 degrees outside and I didn’t catch the name. It was near the begonias so let’s go with that. It had begonia-like leaves and tiny creamy yellow flowers.
Strawberries are in season here in CA – ripe, red and juicy sweet! So fresh strawberry daiquiris around…virgin or full of alcohol! My favorite – make with French Vanilla Ice Cream instead of crushed ice! Yummy – strawberry milkshake with a kick!
Time to drop some 4’s!

I was lurking for about 4-6 weeks and then took a two week vacation…learned a lot while lurking here and posting at the Orange site…

What’s weird is though I wasn’t at all hungry today. I had to choke down the orange biscotti from the Ukranian G-d of Coffee.

Hunger comes and goes. The longer you fast, the less you feel it. If it ever becomes too much, try to sleep it of. You really kick ass DJ!

I found that brushing my teeth staved off the munchies.
I quit for today. I’ll be fasting off an on I’m sure as this continues. I have to go down and support the people who are fasting in public and I can’t do that I’m fainting all over the place you know.
This alone one.. was more of an introspective journey as I supported my friends far and near.
Take lots of liquid, and dont eat too much, You want the stomach to shrink. Proteins and fatty food is always good. I will be thinking about you!

And will eat light, melons, berries. Because I will be fasting off an on till the end of Sept. Danni just picked a bunch of upick raspberries.
It’s right under my front LR window. They are about the size of a large CostCo sized muffin. Sorry it’s not a great photo… camera was low on power and I couldn’t see what I was shooting. It’s charging up now.

I’ve never seen anyone kill one of these. On the other hand I’ve never planted them.
The nice thing about them is they bloom all summer. In Portland that may not be a big deal, you have such great gardening weather. But in the midwest, it’s nice to see any color in august.

I’m only good with Butterfly bushes it seems.
This new home has ten rose bushes… azalaes (you pointed those out to me) and some rhodies and tea rose bush. A few others… that I got to label still.
I haven’t killed anything yet.

All I know about azaleas is that they like “wet feet”.
I can’t help you with roses — there were some at my house when I moved in and got tired of taking care of them and had them all dug up. I thought all my friends who gardened would be appalled — turns out they thought all along I should put them out of their misery 🙂
Actually I was just watching it for him. My mistake was that it needed complete darkness at night…. and I had a light on in the driveway that kept it “awake” so “she” didn’t bloom for him.

I am doing great. My sister read the FBI diary and we have been in contact since then. SHE IS COMING TO VISIT ME THE 12TH Saw her once about 40 years ago and I just can;t believe I will be seeing her again. I’m really mushy inside.

It really blew my mind. My sister e-mailed me and told me: our sis ter Pavi made a comment. Answer her quickly. The thing was that she did not leave e-mail address for me to contact her. So i started googling, until I got a phone # of my brother.I guess he never expected for me to call him right out of the blue. We spoke for about an hur and then I called her, and spoke for another hour. And she is such a sweety!!Unfortunatedly I did not make a connection with my brother (he is the only brother I have) But hopefully we will. Just giving him time.
