grew up in Wichita…tornado alley too…left as soon as I was able. Not real fond of my “home” state, and the weather has very little to do with it.
Wichita, is a strange town..real close to Oklahoma and a two horse town..Boeing & Koch Oil.
600 miles away and 40 years behind…it hasn’t changed since the 60’s.

outdoor breeze coming though the yard, and the low for the night was only supposed to be 67. So, we’ll see how it goes.
At least my guests and I will be at another home in town which has AC for most of the afternoon and early evening.
I hope it’s nice enough to have bonfire later in the evening. It’s been so dry this year we hardly have any mosquitoes, which is very rare for this time of year.
May the mermaids come in the night and swiftly steal you away to luscious shores along black beaches and the heavy scent of papya and mango dances in the air as they cool you down with wet kisses from their candy apple colored lips.

94F, 60% hum, but the breeze was out of the south, so it was coming through the yard, which helped some.
Deck and railing is finished enough for now, and for guests to use. I’ve got a few more things I want trim out on it before taking digital shots. But I ran out of time for that.
I don’t perform well under heat and humidity. I think if I lived here full time I’d have to go for AC. It used to be just a half dozen days a year ya needed one, now with GW it’s hard to say what’ll happen.
Made a trip for lumber today for back steps, 2-12 2X10, 1-14-2X10, and 4-5/4X6 cedar decking for dec trim. Muffler still hanging in there, good for two years ya know, according to Bob.
gotta go w/ Bob’s judgment. My mechanic told me 2 years ago to wait on a new exhaust system…and aside from a growling and somewhat nasty (and cool sounding) snarl, he’s been right on.
We’re heading back into the 90’s for the wkend, w/ the ubiquitous 10-20% chance of t-strms in the pm…back in the groove.

Worrying about the heat in Ottawa, I figured I`d do my best for you.
Yesterday I went to drop off a couple of buckets of my biggest fish. I do screen who I give fish to, & that their set-up is well maintained. This candidate passed. While I was there I took some shots of the grounds.

No, the fish were fo a 200 gal. tank in the house. Actually the tank is a thru-wall tank where it can be viewed from two different rooms & still see a beyond, so it makes everything look bigger space wise. One room has a Jaquizzy {whatever] in it as you enter from the pool area.BTW: The bridged water I posted Is not the pool. The pool is one level up & overlooks the large water area I posted.
The other room the tank is in allows one to suruptitiously see the naked ladies in the Jaquzzi.
Fish screening: A lot of people have no idea what there doing & I do try & educate them as much as possible. I agreed to donate a tank, light system, filters, water plants & fish to a local marine science school if I could tell them how to care for the fish I was to donate. The fish they had already purchased I insisted they return them or give them to me as they were not compatible with the tank size nor with other fish they already had.
Then I was invited to do a few lectures at the school & eveyone is excited I`m coming. [Everyone but me]
Once they tour my place & see all the different set-ups I have & answer any questions they want to bring their mothers aunts & husbands over.
I guess if I wanted to I could make money off these poor people seeing as they get taken by fish stores that have no scruples.
Luckily I have some.
In the meantime I hope I`m not bugging you.

Wow-people are still up! Unfortunately once again I’ll only be here to say hi and goodnight. Rode most of the way up (and then walked the bike up the steep parts of) Mt. Tabor, a charming little cinder cone in the middle of town, to hear a park concert with my bass teacher’s band, Voodoo BBQ-pretty good! But am I tired!

Here’s a quick story. I was hitchhiking in CA many years ago and we were picked up by this kinda weird guy. We’re driving a long and he tells he just got out of prison. Then he swerves off the road onto an old dirt track into the woods and says he knows a great shortcut to the connecting highway we were headed to. My friend and I were young and naive and had no idea what to do. He then goes on to tell us that he was busted for murder. Meanwhile, we are travelling on a worse and worse goat trail and thinking “We are dead.” Finally he tells us his murder conviction was killing his sister’s rapist and the snail trail opens onto a four lane highway. His shortcut was legit and he turned out to be a strange, but not psychotic guy.
The moral of the story: You can never tell a book by its cover, or even the first few paragraphs. :>)

I got one from N CA.
I was working for a guy I met in a coffee shop in Arcata. He had a place up in the mountain about an hour or so from town. So we’re planting fruit trees for a few days.
Then another friend, has a santa clause beard, from the same coffee shop comes up for a visit. He’s going rock hunting, so I take the day off. And I go with him on this big tour of the area.
So, at one point I ask him how long until we get to the cafe we’re headed for. He tells me, but he’s wondering why I wanted to know. So I say I need a restroom stop.
Well, he says, I can pull over at the next turn out. I say, that’ll be fine. so a few miles down the road he pulls into this turn out, actually a little clearing off the road.
But before I can get out of the car he say, “How are we going to do this?”
Now let me tell ya, we’ve been a pullin’ off the road, or stopped dead center on the road in ND many a time. And no one ever asked how we were going to do this.
Anyway, he asks, “How are we going to do this?”
First thing out of my mouth is, “Well, you hold yours and I’ll hold mine.”
All he said then was, “Ya got me there.”
Days later in the coffee shop he comes up to me, and says, you remember that day up in the mountains, I say , yeah????
He says, well, what I meant was were we going to do it by the car or walk over into the trees.
I say, “Oh, OK, I just wasn’t taking any chances.”
ROFLMAO!
Uh…yeah…That is a keeper. :>)

LOL! I was always pissed (no pun intended) that guys could pee so much easier than girls. I just tried not to let it get to me and peed when I needed to pee. :>)
