Well, this is interesting. It appears that the Republican candidate for Joe Lieberman’s senate seat is a degenerate gambler and card counter that has to use an assumed name to be allowed in the Foxwoods Casino. Not only that, but George Gallo, the GOP’s state chairman is selling Schlesinger down the Connecticut River.
“Our mistake is that we only vetted candidates using their real names.”
This could be a move to replace Schlesinger with some other Daddy Warbuck mogul that has more appeal in the Nutmeg state. Yet, according to Hotline, Schlesinger is unlikely to go quietly.
I’m not sure what is going on, but I’m betting the GOP is sensing they have a chance in a three-way race. However, I doubt this is what they have in mind.
Meanwhile, Ann Coulter just loves Joe Lieberman. That’s an endorsement that Joe might want to play down.
that the Republican party is so full of criminals that they now need to do background checks on their candidates’ aliases too.
‘Moral party’, my a**.
should be able to get Bill Bennett’s endorsement… 😉
from my progressive perspective.
We have news from Connecticut that doesn’t include Joe or his staff shooting themselves in the feet in the last 24 hours? I am shocked. Though it is nice of Coulter to step up and shoot Lieberman in the foot just to keep the joementum going. I’m guessing she endorses him because their lists of people they want to have killed are so similar.
I hope Urban gets her signatures. Connecticut voters could become the envy of the nation if they end up with real choices in both parties’ primaries.
This calls into question the wisdom of focusing bloggers’ energy on a Democrat, especially given the potential impact on the entire Senate if the focus was on a vulnerable Republican seat.
Just sayin’.
