Bush is a sick twisted blood-thirsty dry-drunk former cheerleading frat-boy who took joy as a child in blowing up frogs. What more do you need to know?
His latest press conference really was the nadir of his entire presidency. I’m serious. I’ve never been more humiliated at our President, nor have I been more convinced that he is a sociopath.
He has absolutely NOTHING to say about civilian casualties in Lebanon, and says that the root cause of those casualties is Hizbollah, through Syria, with some Iranian involvement. What the fuck does Israel bombing a housing complex in Beirut have to do with Hizbollah? The answer? Nothing.
And then he has the unprecedented gall to say the following:
[paraphrased for lack of a link] Israel should be careful not to bring down the Lebanese government. It’s very important that their government doesn’t fall.
Well, what the fuck government can withstand having its airport destroyed, its lighthouses obliterated, its housing complexes indiscriminately blown to bits, it’s country invaded, and still have any credibility? If you can’t protect your citizens’ lives and livelihood, then what good are you?
Bush is allowing Israel to take Lebanon apart bloody piece by bloody fucking piece, all while pretending to give a shit about the Lebanese democracy. I don’t think I have ever before seen cynicism and immorality conjoined with stupidity in quite this way.
Al Gore is in Philly tonight. I hope to see him at Drinking Liberally. Maybe he can explain how we can advance freedom by condoning the destruction of Bush’s sole accomplishment in office: a democracy in Lebanon.
Beastly morons.
Now that I can agree with you upon!…every word you have said! Tell All, I, from Tennessee, says hey…;o)
It’s so refreshing not to be the only one ranting. š I always feel better when someone else expresses what I feel, the anger and outraged, etc.
And Booman – why did I think you were in New York? You call Philly home? Or just driving a long ways for to drink liberally?
We, for a long time, thought of Bush as just an actor out front, a true dummy, blind to the machinations of President Cheney and his henchmen — Addington, Libby, Feith, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, and all the rest. But as the arguments raged about Bush’s complicity, it’s quite clear Bozo hides behind his stupidity/blue collar Texan act. He’s as complicit as the rest.
No forgiveness. There is no forgiveness for men who’ve opened the Doors of Evil. Why should we? To what end would it serve to give these monsters fair trials?
No, no forgiveness. Their morals come from a time before “an eye for an eye.”
The brutality is not just in the death and destruction that goes wherever they go, it is in the utterly evil lying and bitter dismissal of any semblance of Life and Truth, much less humanity or the planet and it’s inhabitants.
Be angry everyone, be angry. Channel that anger, stop electronic voting fraud and voter suppression. Write letters to your Congresspeople. Join your local verified voting organization, chat up your colleagues, take a stand in conversation, HAVE COURAGE.
That’s so odd, since i had been perusing media matters and I had read a discussion about Sociopathy …. except that it was Ann Coulter in question.
But i have to go with you on this Boo. I think Both Bush and Ann are sociopaths.
Infact, the only real question is whether they are simply sociopaths or psychopaths. After the Ann discusion I went to wikipedia and looked up sociopath and it turns out that sociopaths are socialized psychopaths.. and true psycopaths are born that way. With Bush’s blwing up frogs and his very early on demonstrated ‘blowing up of frogs.’ i think he must be a psychopath.. but who knows… the end result is the same.. exept that with sociopaths there is SOME hope of rehabilitation (since it’s socialized)
With Ann Coulter it’s anyone’s guess.
oopd i had meant to say ‘early on demonstrated lack of empathy’ in place of the second frogs. ack
Oh I agree with every word of this rant.
But there’s so much more!
The sexual assault on Angela Merkel, which is all over the Internets on tape!
The locker room banter with Blair over a supposedly accidently turned on mic (turned on, it seems, by Hu Jintao)!
The way Bush was publicly humiliated by Putin!
An all-time PR disaster.
But I was ranting to my wife yesterday–one great tragedy is that Bush is so smug, and so stupid, that he will never understand what a dumbass he is, and he will never understand what damage he has caused.
I’d really like to see him arrested as a war criminal in one of those countries where they put the defendants in cages in the court room.
Between now and the mid-terms, Karl Rove has two means of dividing Democratic voters. One is Mexican immigration. Two is this re-escalation of violence. Come November, we won’t vote in unison against corporate and political corruption, against beligerent administration policies (primarily the war in Iraq), and against economic that benefit a select minority. Instead, we will split between those of us who want to respect the human rights of people crawling on their bellies across the desert to be here and those of us who want to protect our jobs from insourcing and outsourcing, and we will split between those of us who want a peaceful settlement of the Israeli-Arab issue and those of us with sentimental ties to Israel.
Am I being too cynical, or is it possible that these recent Israeli attacks on Lebanon and Palestine are timed for the benefit of our November elections?
I’m afraid you might be right about escalation of violence, at least some in the administration clearly want a war with Iran, but it’s too far before the elections for this conflict to have anything to do with it. Israel is just taking advantage of provocation to weaken their enemies, and dragging the US along on the bumpy war ride.
I think we pretty much have to consider that EVERYTHING that happens between a couple of months ago and November is part of an agenda. Note I said “consider” – not “assume”…
I sure wouldn’t put it past them. I know that little Israel would not DARE be this belligerent on its own unless they knew we were backing them all the way. WHY we are backing them is a question with several possible answers, not mutually exclusive, including election divisions and Iran….
BooMan – there is one change I would consider worth making in your description of Bush – and that is: former cheering frat-boy.
You see, I have met a “frat-boy” on this site. In December, he initiated one of the most beautiful actions I have ever seen here.

As many of you know, I was involved in a fraternity when I was in college. A major part of being in a fraternity is sharing in rituals that help to form bonds with each other. Some of them are esoteric, so I can’t share them with you. But my favorite one, the one that always made us get up and hug each other at the end, well I’d like to share it with you guys tonight.
I’ve seen a lot of activity around the pond recently that has made me pretty uncomfortable. I know that Diane’s great diary has gone a long way towards starting the healing process. I’m hoping to build on that with this.
The name of the ritual is simply ‘The Web’. I am going to walk you all through it on the flip.

I cannot even provide the link cause there are too many comments for me to open the diary without crashing.
It would be more accurate, imo, to describe Bush as, “a sick twisted blood-thirsty dry-drunk 60 year old privileged white male…”
Some of Bush’s behaviors and worldviews, again imo, stem more from his being white, being male, and being very wealthy rather than his membership in a fraternity or even his cheering.
What is a country to do when the leader is mentally unbalanced?
The question I would like to have answered by someone from the Shrub group is: If we are truly the main nation spreading democracy all around the world, one Iraq at a time; and if that is truly going to be our rationale/reason/excuse for Iraq; AND if ‘God’s man in the White House’ is concerned about the ‘government of Lebanon’…THEN WHY IN THE HELL HAVE WE NOT SUPPORTED OR HELPED THIS FRAGILE/FLEDGLING DEMOCRACY IN LEBANON SINCE SYRIA LEFT IN ’05???
Wonder if we could get someone to answer this question..?
finally went and saw An Inconvenient Truth today (an air-conditioned theater seemed a good way to escape the heat). Great movie…and any so-called “scientist” who denies there’s such a thing as global warming is full of shit (a subject that Bush is waaaaaay too familiar with).
If Gore’s serious about not running in 2008, then I want President Feingold to name him as head of EPA, or create a special “environmental czar” position or something where he can nail the American car companies who complain we can’t raise CAFE standards and all the companies that say they can’t cut the amount of crap they spew into the air…
Booman – I will preface this by the fact that I am not a Jew or fundamentalist Christian, I am a liberal Democrat, I vote, have a family, pay my taxes, don’t own a gun, etc – a good ol American Joe.
However, I can only provide my perspective as a parent and who has done quite a bit of research on some (not all of the subjects you mention above). First, I think as a journalist you need to at least provide some (not a lot) but some objectivity in this.
A) We all know Bush is a moron.. there’s not secret about that – right from the get go you lose my interest in what I can correlate as one that my teenage daughter might spew. Boo, crisp and clean
B) I like you disagree with a majority of our government’s policies. However, these are some facts we need to consider especially recently.
Boo – I don’t teach my kids and friends to hate. However, I just ask that you give some more resources to listing some of the counterpoints in your arguments above so your readership can weigh facts and make up their own minds.
A few replies to your points in B
If the reciprocal bombings in Israel are as bad why are western governments not rushing to evacuate their citizens from Israel?
Since 2000 there have been many tit for tat exchanges that have nevr developed into a full scale war.
Hezbollah are in the masses because that is where they come from. They are a part of the Lebanese community. They eat, sleep, and exist within the community they are from. Hezbollah are not some alien militia group that emerged out of thin air.
After dropping the leaflets many fled to Tyre which Israel then upgraded as a target and bombed, and lets not get into the kids convoy.
The Lebanese government has been actively assisting investigations into Syrian involvement in Hariris murder. If the Syrians control the government how can this happen? Hezbollah were invited into the coalitiom. They also had an electoral alliance with Hariris group in at least the second stage of voting.
The Lebanese government has a majority. Until a week ago it had full Western backing. It was involved in pursuing Syrian involvement in the Hariri murder. That doesnt look too weak. Hezbollah, you should remember, has a special place in Lebanon as the resistance that freed the country from Israeli occupation. The new government had a plan to bring Hezbollah inside more by involving assimilating their main fighters into the Lebanese army and involve Hezbollah more in the expanding economy.
Syria has pulled out of Lebanon and Lebanon has a government not to its liking in Lebanon. To assume they still pull all the strings is one of Bush’s little war mongering fantasies.
I think you’ll find a few weeks ago Hamas released a statement that implicitly regognized Israel. As it was made on the day of the Israeli invasion of Palestine it got somewhat overshadowed andf I’m sure has now been gone back on. The areas of who recognizes who need work for sure. But that is best done diplomatically and with peace.
Just a few points anyway as they have not been responded to elsewhere in this thread, and we wouldnt want any imbalance now would we? š
Right on brother. I would add one word – vindictive. Whoops, thought of another – shameless.
I was mortified that he’d show such a blatant lack of respect for a head of state. Somewhat like Cheney attending the Holocaust event in a ski parka while everyone else was dressed formally and appropriately.
Thanks for mentioining the ski parka – that was unbelievable. what a weird photo it made too. Just watched the “Bush spits dinner roll at Tony Blair” video and the “Bush harasses Merkel” video. In “Bush- dinner roll” he really seems to be slurring his speech – maybe he’s talking with his mouthful to disguise lack of sobreity.
