I just delivered some chocolate chip cookies over the hill to a friend who takes care of a terminally ill friend who has no appetite. We have been backing each other up when it comes to appetite inducing foods.
Another friend who hauls trash, was wondering why a crowd was gathering around a dump truck at the landfill last week. He imposed himself a bit closer & found that somebody was offloading large black trashbags full of weed. A few days later he called me over to his house to show me & knowing I help people in dire straits gave me as much as I wanted. And that`s where the cookies came from.
Btw, I`ve since moved, I have no phone & I`m really called Alphonse.
Oh, the cookies really do give you the munchies.
Hi FM, how you doing? I just got up from a much needed nap (we spent the afternoon at the zoo).
I like that cookie idea. I think I might stop off on the way down to the big penguinated computer in the office to see if my granddaughter and her friend left any sugar cookie dough in the fridge, and if they did, it might just be time to bake some cookies.
On the subject of very ill people, I will donate to anybody in need of it;
an oxygen regulator, dispenser or whatever it`s called
A friend of mine died waiting for a lung transplant & she made sure I would get this equipment knowing I would find someone who could use it.
It`s a heavy piece of equipment & I imagine it`s state of the art. I have it here at my house & will supply details to any serious person. Ask me any questions on this item & I will supply the best answer I can. It is a very new piece of equipment that I believe is worth a chunk of cash, but invaluable to an ill person. If anyone is in need say so , & make sure I can reach you. I assure your absolute privacy.
Wow. There’s a “free” section of Craigslist where people advertise things they’re willing to give to someone who needs them. Mostly it’s clothes but I’ve seen walkers and wheelchairs and things like that.
I think everyone went to bed-rats! I’m making a list of ways to not spend Saturday night alone by the computer-this really sucks! It doesn’t seem to matter that I was out nearly every night last week, Saturday nights are just the loneliest and I begin to sink into despair.
Mostly getting ready for the big festival next weekend and visiting with people who aren’t around on the weekends. One of my housemates isn’t back from his trip to New Mexico (he’s moving there at the end of the month) and the other left supposedly to water his garden up the street but he was all dressed up-not a clue why he felt it necessary to tell me he was going there-like I care. Anyway the house is way too quiet but I’ll be up until I finish this hard cider then to bed.
Actually it’s a cultural festival called Obon, celebrated by Japanese-American communities. Probably was originally a harvest festival but now is a time also to remember the dead, especially those who passed in the last year. In Japan, people return to their hometowns and have special ceremonies at their home temples and clean the family graves. In the US, especially California and Hawaii, there are the memorial services (ours is tomorrow) and then there are festivities including entertainment, raffles, food and special folk dancing as the sun goes down-that’s what we’re practicing. And I’m part of the set-up crew for that next week, assembling booths and moving chairs and tables around.
Cider’s gone-time for bed.
Clean cafe with plenty of room. Booman is buying the beer.
Thanks, Whit, me dear, for putting up the lounges tonight. I’m going to shower, read and sleep. Night.
No problem. I think I’ll get something to eat, although we don’t have any chocolate chip cookies. 🙂
Night SN.

Thanks. I`ll check that site out.
Please forget the “Wow’. Really.
Hello folks – back from dinner and a day of phonebanking for Lamont. How are y’all doing?

so what was all the excitement the rest of the week? That now Sat night seems so slow?

I’d never heard of that before. I suppose our Japanese population is too sparse here for such a festival.
Sleep well.
