May the 4’s be with you
Lets all have a beer and relax.
I’ll take 27 beers and a wiskey chaser.
Thought you could lose me in the last cafe huh?
As if I try to do that. π
I’ll have my usual morning tea, thanks.
Having a Henry Weinhard’s Root Beer.
How’s Albert?
DJ is right! How’s Albert?
Albert is doing very well. He’s pretty much back to his old naughty self.
He has a check-up this afternoon at 2:30 – just to have a look and to get a refill on one of his meds.
He’ll have to have another surgery in about a month to remove two more teeth, but that one shouldn’t be as bad as the last one. Especially since we will have well and truly knocked off the infection that caused all this mess by then.
whew that’s a relief.
Saturday we got my son’s school photo from his old school in CA… and you could see how swollen his FACE was due to severe dental needs that had gone unmet… dental nightmare stuff due red tape bullshit here in the states and disabled people.
Nobunny should go through that. (((Albert and Wesley))))
That’s good to hear. How’re you holding up with your tooth?
how ’bout you keres?
I’m OK, a bit knotty, but that’s why I have a massage scheduled for right after Albert appointment. Fortunately, given that I need de-knoting on a regular basis, I have a friend who is a Masseur, who gives me “mates rates.” Otherwise I couldn’t really afford it.
I still haven’t schedule a dentist appointment. Maybe I’ll get to that later today.
And how are you doing?
mate rates even better. π
I’m off trying to work on a diary for tomorrow — Manny’s group project suggestion of writing about the UN’s 10 stories the world should hear more about. I’m first up, so no playing tonight … π
Morning keres. We never did figure out what alcohol went with tea.
Tea-quila??? possibly?
Tequila goes with everything.
Although if I had to choose a shot for my tea, I’m more tempted by a liqueur, say orange or some other sweet sour combination.
Long Island Iced Tea! π
You’re trying to fool me now. Them people in long island don’t know how to drink tea. π
I know people who like Long Island Iced Teas, but I’ve never had one. I’m not even sure what’s in one, except that I don’t think actual ice tea is included among the ingredients.
They’re heinous in my opinion. That’s why I put liquior in lemonades π
I’ve had many and yes there is no tea.
However, about two is all you can take.
I’ve had 5 mai tais… sorta spelled like tea… π
Of course that was at a Rev Horton Heat concert and I lost my ever loving mind. π
I’ve never had a mai tais, but I have been out of my mind at concerts before. π
On the way back from a concert. Out of control!!

How is everyone doing?
Hi Andi. How did you slackerly day go today?
Hot, hot, hot. But other than that pretty blah.
Hah. Mundaneness penetrates to all.
My plan is working. :~)
I didn’t get any launddry done today, nor any spreadsheets worked on, I didn’t go on any interviews, awe didn’t go to the library..
No idea what to make for dinner…
And I have to get the kids ready to attend their dad’s hockey game.
Simple solution. Don’t worry about dinner and fill the kid up at the hockey game.
Ha! They have a hard time just breathing or drinking in that steeeenky place. No air-con.. .all day.. filled with steenky, sweaty hockeyplayers.. Roller hockey … NO ICE.
Danni said that the smell made her rootbeer taste funny last night LOL
{{{{{{{{{{{{DJ}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
ahhhhhhhhhh … LOL
all ready?
Gotta take care of Olivia. π
Another simple solution. Before you leave give them each a packet of ketchup and tell them to be creative. π
We went to Burgerville last night on th eway home.. so that option is out. π
ACK!!!! No! LOL
home made Pizzas on pita breada π
I still like the chitlin idea.
EW! Just… EW! π
I gotta get skidaddlin… I’m not even sure we have clean socks to wear…
You could put the chitlins in some sock and boil them. Gives them that april fresh taste. π
See ya later and enjoy.
Sounds like a new ice cream flavor to me my friend π
Mocha spring fresh sock chitlin flavored.
Nah, tried it and downy things are hard to chew. π
Sounds icky sticky — is it still hot in Portland?
It’s been lovely and mild here since… Saturdayish.
Wesley’s aide from Cali came up for a visit. She’ll be back next Sat.
How have you been?
Did Wesley enjoy the visit?
I’m in I-wish-summer-was-over mode.
He was SOOOO happy!!! And so proud of his new room and home. We took her and her daughter to a vietnamese restaraunt.. She was totally blown over by our new lives.. π
She brought over his school photos, a SIGNED yearbook where all his friends and teachers wrote to him… his old school ID. We drove by his new school and our library… she loved our house. She said, “this is a good thing for you all”
She even saw a huge, positive change in Danni.
What a nice person to do all that for him. And I’m sure she’s right about the “good thing”.
I’d paid for the yearbook before we left. I asked if they’d pass it around for him and then mail it to us. This way was much nicer π
She was with him for almost 8 years.
Good to see you haven’t sweated into a little puddle!
Whooooooooooooahhh!!! That’s one big bumble bee!!!
Look at that Andi!!!!
Look at that Andi!!!!
Are you saying I’m a big bug or are you having a punctuation crisis?
Actually, that would be big insect. Technically, bugs are beetles and the like. All of which differ from the eight-legged or more arachnids – which consists of spiders, mites, centipedes, millipedes, and scorpians.
whack you on the head when you do that? If so, I have a favor to ask of her.
And Adam named all the creatures; and those which crawled upon the ground, and had more legs than he and Eve did, those did he call bugs.
does that answer your questions?
I also find screaming into a towel therapeutic.
And drugs.
Fortunately Keres has many other redeeming qualities. π
or keres?
Jim has that compulsion to instruct — it seems to be incurable. I suppose he must have some redeeming qualities as well but after 34 years I’ve pretty much given up hope that someone is going to show up and claim him.
who is thrilled by the proof that at least someone was paying attention in class?
Btw, my HS biology teacher was a nut job who liked to take frozen beef hearts and stick his fingers in the valve openings like you would the holes in a bowling ball, and then bowl it down the one of aisles between the chairs.
I liked my anatomy teacher better.
Jim’s an elementary teacher but, as you can see downthread, he certainly appreciated your fine effort.
My biology teacher liked to show slides of the antique car tours he went on.
Um, how elucidating. I really can’t write well these last few days. Must be because I’m doing my job as a magazine editor, and there’s only so much correct grammer in my brain and I’ve used it all up.
I’m thinking of adding this as my signature:
putting the sexy in dyslexia.
Whaddaya think?
I think I’m the wrong one to ask. π
I understand. Teachable moments must be taken advantage of even when they are unappreciated.
sorry … π
It’s an awesome shot! I love it!
That is an excellent picture. Especially with the bee.
Great photo. What lense are you using?
Did you ever get an answer about your “messy” flower?
I’ve got a p&s.
No answer on the flower. It’s probably something that’s considered a weedy nuisance so it doesn’t show up in the wildflower books.
Ah, point and shoot. I just figured out what p&s meant. π
It has a very short focal length option (for close-ups).
It has a macro — nothing like using the macro on Jim’s D70 but good enough for me.
I have a Minolta Dimage Z-1, which is technically a point and shoot but has taken some pretty spiffy pictures.
One of these days I’m going to get me an SLR digital camera, but probably not before they go through another generation or two. I won’t be able to afford one, or justify the expense to Mrs. Omir, before then.
I’ve got a canon powershot sd550 and I’m very happy with it. It’s so small and lightweight that I bring along every time I walk so that I get shots I would miss if I had a big ole SLR that I wouldn’t want to schlep (and which intimidates me anyway).
Yeah, my daughter has a Nikon Coolpix that’s much smaller than the Minolta. I really like the Minolta but I have to wear it conspicuously around my neck whenever I take it anywhere. She carries hers in her purse.
I’ve been up since 2:00 am this morning and didn’t get my alloted naps today. So this geezer is going to bed.
Night all.
The top collapsed a bit, which as far as I can tell means that I used too much liquid. Next time around I’ll probably add 1/4 cup of flour or oatmeal instead of backing off on the liquid, which consisted of a cup of milk and 1/4 cup of honey (subbing for the sugar as well).
It smells really good, though.
than the smell of fresh-baked bread. I’ve never understood why people bother with perfumes when there are smells like that (or sauteed garlic).
I’ve heard that unscrupulous real-estate agents will often bake a batch of cookies before showing a house to potential buyers. The aroma of fresh baked cookies is apparently a . . . well it’s not an aphrodisiac, which has to do with sex, but it’s a something-disiac that entices potential buyers to part with their money.
One of these days I’m going to make up some garlic butter. Or maybe I won’t, since if I do I’ll eat an entire loaf of bread all by myself. I’m exercising remarkable control by waiting until my wife comes home to break into this loaf, but it’s just a matter of time.
You can actually buy cans of “bread” or “cookie” smell for just such purposes. No need to actually mess up the kitchen.
Apparently men like the smell of cinnamon better than anything else, and for women it’s vanilla.
I’ve also heard you can buy cans of “new car smell.” And to think they paid someone to come up with that.
Probably the same person who makes movie popcorn smell so good.
actually i like the smell of fresh paint..
