the New York Times don’t make the man.
I wish I were surprised by the timing of the delay.
My question would be why anyone thought the NY Times was on our side?
They have long been the spokesperson for the state, for the powers that be, and truth has often fallen by the wayside.
There used to be a very good publication called “Lies of Our Times” that was formed explicitly to bring this home to anyone following the media.
FAIR – Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting, has also taken the Times to task numerous times.
For all the right’s huffing and puffing over the “liberal media,” more often than not, when a story is spun, it’s spun to the right.
Over the last couple of years as my eyes have been opened by “News” I never saw on TV. I have had to come to the conclusion that there is no “free” press in this country. It is all bought and paid for.

Corporate media are our enemies; not our allies. Media has never been progressive in this country since by it’s very nature it requires concentration of capital.
This is why the ‘blogosphere’ is so important. It works on a ‘distributed’ model not a centralised one.
Sometimes I wonder if anybody ever studied any history or economics in this country.
