May the 4’s be with you
Good morning Andi.
Ready for another wonderful day?
Jim goes back to school today so depending on how you look at it, it’s either a day to shroud everything in black or WOO HOO.
After working so hard all summer and then having to go back to school. The man is made of granite I tell ya. 🙂
oh come now, I may pick on Jim but even I wouldn’t say he has rocks for brains. 😉
As if I would say that either. 🙂
I was thinking earlier, it will be interesting this year to see what Jim has planned for his class. I remember last year, he told about the different projects he and his class did. I think that’s pretty cool.
Steered my way out that didn’t I. 😛
Good morning, Andi and FM.
It’s looking good out and not too hot.
Good morning ask.
It’s not too hot here but it continues to be very humid. If foggy mornings in August really mean number of snows in winter, we’re in it.
Good morning everyone. I’m taking Number 13 to college today – the girl in pink began her senior year (college) yesterday and the only one left at home is the fat thanksgiving turkey she’s barely holding onto in this pix.
I may joke about it, but this is a sad day for me. 🙁
I’m sorry SN. It’s hard to let go.
You should take heart in that you’ve prepared and are still preparing them well for life. Plus everybody always comes home to Mom.
It’s hard to go from every day interaction to just a phone call or email a couple times a week. I wish they’d all call me every day like you guys do FMom.
LOL FMom pounded that into our heads. Just threaten them with calling the police to check up on them a couple of times or have someone that knows them drop by and say your Mom called me since she couldn’t get in touch with you.
Enough times and they’ll start the habit of calling. 🙂
I’ve never been that kind of mother – but now I wish I had been. To me it was like telling someone they better buy you a birthday present or say I love you. As my kids got older and uncomfortable about saying I love you back to me I just started saying “you love me.” and they’d say, yeah yeah. 🙂
I remember when I first joined the military and was stationed across country in California. One day I get a call to go to the commanders office. I’m freaking, thinking what did I do? I get there and the commander tells me he got a call from my mother saying she hadn’t heard from me. He told me to call my Mom.
I call and I’m really upset, but FMom tells me she was worried. However, she ends the conservation with the fact she still has the commanders phone number. 🙂
I like her. Tell her I’m coming down there for lessons.
I forgot to mention that at that point in time, I was already in my late 20’s. Before I moved back here, the last time she did something like that, I was in my late 40’s.
I think the secret is perseverance. Let them know no matter what age or where they are, they had better call.
What FM said. From what I’ve seen of your boys, you’ve done a fantastic job preparing them to go out in the world and be fine. And I can also see why you’d miss them terribly. They’re great to have around.
(((SN)))
about once a week to check in with me and pass the latest family gossip…I used to bitch about it, but now I miss the calls. 🙁 sigh
Good morning, all — beautiful O-photo above…
Spouse heading out for his drug test (that got moved up to today); looking positive for him to get back to work shortly. Decided to get up and shower so I can get a really good start on some work; as soon as he clears out I can get the bed made and figure out what else I’m going to tackle in the couple of hours he’ll be gone. Possibly some laundry — he’s usually Designated Laundry God around here, but now that we don’t have to hike down two flights of steps like our old place, I really should do it myself more often.
Okay, he’s heading out the door, time for me to be domestic… 🙂
I need a Designated Laundry God…where do you get one? And could mine please fold and put away?
Glad to hear things are looking up re: spousal employment!
Glad to hear it’s going good Cali.
I need a Designated Ironing God. I hate that the worst out of doing laundry.
I’ll have a happy hour up in a sec.
