   and they have a prepared statement which they are supposed to read.  They actually use the phrase that Salazar is “disappointed in the outcome” of the primary and that Leiberman walks above partisan poison.

   I then asked if Salazar was planning to switch parties.  She didn’t know.

   So when we’re counting on a certain number of Democratic Senators, don’t include Sellout Salazar.

     Will he further the Colorado switch-horse tradition?  Long time residents (we’re relative newcomers) were worried from day one that he was a DINO or a party switcher.

     I’ve seen him a number of times in person and he comes across as a dull, dull hack.  Go along, get along type.

     We FAXed a polite (barely), blistering letter.

       Let’s just say she didn’t sound terribly enthused about her job or Salazar.

   I’m not sure who or how it is decided that a particular Congressional race is “in play.”  But seeing this is a time when many safe Republican seats may be up for grabs, I am wondering what it takes to get some of you folks helping Danny Stover to unseat Rep John Shimkus in the Illinois 19th CD.

   The United Auto Workers have announced that they are endorsing Mr. Stover.

   Here is a blurb from his website:  stoverforcongress.us

   I live in the IL 19th CD and will be doing all I can to elect Mr. Stover to Congress this November.

     are there any blogs dedicated to the race?  Would you be interested in setting one up and just adding info on the race from time to time?  

     Kid Oakland and I are working on a project for local races connected to local blogs and hopefully, RSS feeds.

       Interested?  Quite possibly.  I don’t have a clue as to how to do all the fancy ‘html’ stuff.

   I was taking a look at the U.S.’s global troop deployments (the link to the spreadsheet is on this page, from the Heritage Foundation), and noticed that there are a ton of countries where we have between 5 and 30 troops deployed to.  

   So my question is, what are they doing there?  It doesn’t seem like enough to keep an active base.  Are they troops that are stationed at our embassies?

     Typically, U.S. embassies have a small contingent of U.S. Marines to provide security.

   Excerpt from current post at Howard-Empowered People, about how George Bush narrowed the gap in 2000 among Muslims, receiving only 10% less of the Muslim vote than Gore. (Whereas Dole received 50% less than Clinton).

   “How he did that was basically, again, the Republicans were able to build a faith-based alliance with the Muslims. Also, I remember watching this debate in 2000. It was the second debate, and they asked a question about racial profiling of African Americans. And Bush talked about that and then he said Arab Americans are racially profiled in what’s called “secret evidence”. People are stopped, and we have to do something about that. So Bush spoke up against racial profiling in the debate, and supposedly this was a reason that a lot of Muslims went over to the Republican side, because Bush brought up the issue of racial profiling and he spoke against it.”

   Hard to imagine that now, huh?
