Yep, you went to bed right before I arrived 🙁
Psi tried to make it up to me by being entertaining, and he was VERY entertaining — but of course he’s not you …
My day was good. Lots of little stuff to get down, mutliple trips to Target, lots of laundry. Not too exciting. But this is the first weekend in months that I could just hang out and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I’m imagining you putting the costume head on and off as you answer. Or maybe it’s more like you with a frog puppet (like Kermit) on your lap, and sometimes your you and sometimes you’re froggy bottom.
Partly I kept forgetting things and partly I realized I needed a couple of things when I checked the TSA site and the Heathrow Airport site to see what I could carry on and what I could check.
I’d take off the frog suit but I’m naked underneath. And I just read on another site that I’m sanctimonious and utterly hypocritical, so I decided to switch identities.
Do you need a froggybottom posse to be sent out to beat up whoever this … person … was who called you names? Or can we just stay here and enjoy the fact that he/she isn’t?
This is way too confusing and I think I haven’t been around here enough to understand whatever you two (?) are talking about so I’m just going to go visit with Psi.
They’re killing me. I walked some very long stretches today, even worse than some of the things I did in CT. I’ve been trying to move as little as possible since I got back.
Do you put extra mayo on yours like Mr. Nature does? He says it’s a “bread sealer”. Pfft…you don’t need to seal the bread against leakage if you snarf the sandwich up in 22 seconds like he does.
I think I created a monster. My s-i-l has gotten on the really slow computer with linux and she doesn’t know anything about computers. I’m having to run back and forth to show her how to do thing.
oh I was offered and I accepted a sweet job last week. I had been in the place and got to talking with the boss. When I left she decided that she needed someone just like me. Few weeks later, I went back in – stopped outside to pet a pound puppy “Puggle – part pug part beagle part grateful dog – and she came running out to offer me the job.
Always stop to pet the Puggles.
Oh.. it’s at a ritzy-fine bakery. The boss needs me to establish a returning customer base. It’s an offshoot of a bakery here that’s been around for 81 years. It has cakes, bread, Italian desserts, individual treats, cookies, donuts (doughnuts)… (No cockies) and a little coffee cafe.
Bosslayd will be traveling overseas a bit so needs me to help with maintaining the store, doing inventory and being “high energy”…
And.. the yummies are SOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOD
and it’s not even a mile from my house.
just been a busy week with special ed stuff, getting stuff ready for both kid’s school and I took one day off from it all to flake out and read one of Kansas’ books all afternoon.
Hola ((((Mary))) I start Wed and already she’s had me take stuff home 😉 She’s very sweet. Same age as I am but really shy and ESL. But… she is an artist so her and I really clicked.
English as a Second Language. She’s Korean and wants me to be her assistant.
She says it’s really weird but some people assume that if you can speak 3 languages (like she does) that you are somehow inferior… sad commentary but I see the stereotype she’s mentioning alot.
People in this country are weird about language. But of course in most people’s minds the key to talking to anyone who has the slightest accent is to TALK REALLY LOUD because then they’ll understand you better 🙂
I can’t wait for the first time you say — hey, we’re not deaf here you know!
I used to know people who were deaf… and I swear people would just holler LOUDER at them… DOH!
She was so happy had some secretarial skills and had been the assistant for a Japanese man… meaning being the one who did all the “translating” for the Americans LOL So it’s not just sales… she wants me to be able to do things when she’s out of the country.
And yeah… bringing home day old yummies is just fine with the kidlets here 🙂
I told her we should make up a box or two of the day olds for Wayne to take into his work to get the addiction going on his co-workers. 🙂 She liked that idea 🙂 We both have “evil” grins my husband noticed.
Thank you Family Man (((XOXO)))) it’s super close, low stress and I’m really good at sales, and decorating and enticing people to try new desserts. 🙂 While she’s in the states I do 12-6 so I get to get the kids off to school and am home at a reasonable hour.
Last week I really got down about a job. Schedules are SO not conduscive to anyone with kids or a kid who has some issues with school. I made as many “sacrifices” to stay at home… but this is nice as it’s not a commute from hell or high stress and the first time I saw the bakery/cafe – I said, “I’d love to work there or own one just like that one day” 🙂
It’s a nice, fun job. Lotsa smiles and confectionary sugar in the air. 🙂 You walk into it and feel like you’re in Italy. but… I’ve never been to Italy so I wouldn’t know… but it’s very cool.
My aunt used to tell everyone that she was 10 years OLDER than she was. She said then people would give her compliments all the time on how young she looked.
It’s a express (off shoot) of an existing bakery that’s been around for 81 years. Great goods and reputation. Some just aren’t away of this little joint. So that’s part of my job 🙂
Yup, a working girl 🙂 This way, too I’ll get to go to vigils, do CodePink stuff AND be able to take classes.
Of course, all this means you’ll have even less time for us but we’ll put on a brave face and pretend we can deal with it because, well, we’re all just too noble for words. 😉
Speaking of b-days… my son CAN NOT keep a secret when it pertains to me, Mom.
He has already told me that since I won’t be working “far away” that Dad is going to take me shopping for a guitar to re-learn on.
I was so hoping for this one job with Dark Horse Comics… but the stress and schedule of it… kept me awake at night thinking how would I manage it all. School, classes, kids, protests and a “straight 9-5 er”
It would have been a secretarial/receptionist job. I put in for it though. Got a resume and all that stuff done last week. (Another reason I’ve been “silent” on the blogs)
Hmmmm I have lots of liberal arts stuff from theater work… that would be as Andi says a door in to getting me “unclustermucked” in the head about classes 🙂 Good idea Mary!! Thanks!!!
You need to get a transcript from your former school and make an appointment with an academic advisor.
But my advice is to find a class that interests you without worrying about how it applies. It will make it a lot easier to work yourself back into a “school” mode if you are taking something that you will enjoy.
Good idea — refresh your brain before you go drowning it in fine Italian wines; better chance you won’t wipe out all the brain cells that carry that specific knowledge.
money has been an issue these past few months, though. So had to get a job much sooner. (never not be around when inspectors are inspecting your house that you are selling …)
At least I got a fun one and one that I think will have many plusses.
Just been hella busy with so much. I’m actually turning some CP stuff down cause I can’t do it all. But this month is uber busy though anyways for CP.
But I put the fire that was on my head out and figured.. one week at a time. 🙂 (((Andi))))
Is everyone busy camping, grilling, doing yard work, and otherwise trying to stretch the last weekend of summer?
I sure could use a drink.
Nah…I spent today canvassing for Patrick Murphy. Just did a write-up on it, right below this Cafe.
How’s everyone else doing?
I knew you couldn’t stay away from us, PF. Let me go read it, but I’ll bet it’s as good as all your other stuff.
Hello Psi and Froggy.
Today I did the whole lawn, painted the house, built a new car and got a nap in there.
Ya buying any of that?
At last — we’re here at the same time!
Hi Mary. I saw I missed you last night.
How’s your day been going?
Yep, you went to bed right before I arrived 🙁
Psi tried to make it up to me by being entertaining, and he was VERY entertaining — but of course he’s not you …
My day was good. Lots of little stuff to get down, mutliple trips to Target, lots of laundry. Not too exciting. But this is the first weekend in months that I could just hang out and I enjoyed every minute of it.
How was your day?
Why multiple trips? And I know I’m froggybottom but I like the mystery.
Don’t forget your 4 oz. of lube.
damn, now I have to go back …
I’m glad to hear you’ve had some slack time.
My day has been mostly slackerly. Just computer stuff.
Simultaneous blogasms…my favorite!
Who is the mysterious Froggy Bottom?
I’ve got an idea. 🙂
You’re having a little too much fun for your own good, FM.
Someone has too. 🙁
I thought it was you on your other computer
Now would I use the term Simultaneous blogasms?
Only one person I know of. 🙂
I’d take off the frog suit but I’m naked underneath. And I just read on another site that I’m sanctimonious and utterly hypocritical, so I decided to switch identities.
We love ya anyway froggy. 🙂
Even in all of my sanctimoniosity?
I’ll say yes, because I don’t know what it means.
That’s because I just made it up. Sanctimonious people are allowed to make up their own words and everyone must accept them.
sanctimonious … you’ve been talking to Markos?
Not likely, but I was sort of proud that I was called sanctimonious for the second time in my life.
Hell I would have just said pharisaical.
Aren’t online dictionaries wonderful. 🙂
Do you need a froggybottom posse to be sent out to beat up whoever this … person … was who called you names? Or can we just stay here and enjoy the fact that he/she isn’t?
We’re halfway to a posse now…but it is nice hanging out here instead…
This is way too confusing and I think I haven’t been around here enough to understand whatever you two (?) are talking about so I’m just going to go visit with Psi.
Pfft…just consider the source. What do you expect from people mobetta than you?
:::sniff::: I love you, froggybottomtoo!
Yes…you folks are having too much fun now.
You actually did one of those things, let alone all of them? I’d be very surprised. 😛
Well Psi, I would be too. 🙂
Basically I’ve been trying to get linux installed on an old computer all day.
I didn’t ask in your diary — but are your feet tired?
They’re killing me. I walked some very long stretches today, even worse than some of the things I did in CT. I’ve been trying to move as little as possible since I got back.
You need a beer. Oh THAT’s right — you’re too young to buy one 🙂
Allow me to corrupt you
for shame…
Oh, you just want one too. You have nothing against me corrupting the young.
here
Normal going ons at the froggy bottom.
Oh, be quiet, Booman! You’re ruining all the fun.
That’s it. You tell him. No more rock star treatment for you BooMan 🙂
Thanks for doing the footwork that I’m too lazy and preoccupied to do. I owe you a footrub.
I’m very bored.
hmm…
no more deep double cover?
I’ve been puzzling over the front page story On Blackheads. I was expecting tips on acne prevention and such.
Must wear reading glasses.
I’m not even that blind.
Your eyes are the second thing to go, as you know.
I’m good then cause I’ve still got all my hair. 😛
Hi SN. How’s it going. 🙂
Hello back. Did you char some brontosaurus ribs on the grill?
Are you kidding? Bar-b-queing is work.
It was pimento cheese sandwiches for everyone today.
Do you put extra mayo on yours like Mr. Nature does? He says it’s a “bread sealer”. Pfft…you don’t need to seal the bread against leakage if you snarf the sandwich up in 22 seconds like he does.
Extra Miracle Whip, yep. Occasionally I like pineapple slices on mine. Sort of gives it that down home tropical flare. 🙂
My god, the only thing missing is….Spam!
Not even I’ll go there.
Although I hear it’s really big in Hawaii.
Hey, where you been?
I’m not bored, but I could go for a martini. Any of your kids around this weekend, SN?
Ry just went back to school after 2 days at home. Colin is home for the weekend and of course the little dude is here.
Are the CBs ready for school?
They’re getting ready…definitely not as ready as I am, though.
7 hours of blissful quiet on Tuesday. Can’t wait.
Did Ernesto hit you pretty hard? We finally had a sunny day today and went for a 6 mile walk.
He completely bypassed us. Less than an inch of rain and just some pleasant wind for a few hours. Cooled things down a bit.
We had a rainy couple of days, but it wasn’t too bad (once I got over my hissy-ness at the prospect of being stuck indoors for days).
I think I created a monster. My s-i-l has gotten on the really slow computer with linux and she doesn’t know anything about computers. I’m having to run back and forth to show her how to do thing.
Yes Psi, I’m really walking. 😛
Be careful out there, FM. Running is even worse for your heart than smoking.
Well I do stop every ten feet to get my breath. 😛
No you’re not. You’re probably moving yourself via a rolling chair. 😛
Trust me, if I could I would.
oh I was offered and I accepted a sweet job last week. I had been in the place and got to talking with the boss. When I left she decided that she needed someone just like me. Congrats on the job! Do you get to bring leftovers home at the end of the day?
Hola ((((Mary))) I start Wed and already she’s had me take stuff home 😉 She’s very sweet. Same age as I am but really shy and ESL. But… she is an artist so her and I really clicked.
although I don’t think I know what ESL means … but I assume it’s good?
English as a Second Language. She’s Korean and wants me to be her assistant.
She says it’s really weird but some people assume that if you can speak 3 languages (like she does) that you are somehow inferior… sad commentary but I see the stereotype she’s mentioning alot.

Happy birthday Wesley!
And good luck with the new school year.
OMG on the job…I’d gain a trillion pounds.
Hey Second 🙂 How’s Ryan?!?!
On the job, I’ve worked in ice cream joints (don’t tell Family Man :D) before and have lost weight. I’m looking forward to a new schedule 🙂
Got him a Bailey’s & Cream cake… that’s what I went back in to get.. order a cake for him. No alcohol in it… he just likes that flavor 🙂
OMG 14!!!!
Happy B’day to Wesley and congrat’s on the job.
It sounds wonderful and just right for you.
Thank you Family Man (((XOXO)))) it’s super close, low stress and I’m really good at sales, and decorating and enticing people to try new desserts. 🙂 While she’s in the states I do 12-6 so I get to get the kids off to school and am home at a reasonable hour.

I’m really happy for you DJ. This sound like a dream job for you.
BTW I saw the ice cream remark. 🙂
It’s a nice, fun job. Lotsa smiles and confectionary sugar in the air. 🙂 You walk into it and feel like you’re in Italy. but… I’ve never been to Italy so I wouldn’t know… but it’s very cool.
I could live with that. 🙂
Happy B-day to Wes! CBtE just had his 14th last Sunday.
And congrats on the job.
14… GACKKK… he’s starting HIGH SCHOOL this Tuesday.. OMG! Happy Belated Bday to your BellyButtonBoy, too.
We’re awaiting Dad to get home. He works Sundays. Wes is acting like it’s the end of the world to have to wait. 🙂
You know, there is just NO way that either one of us is old enought to have 14 year olds, is there? 😉
I should start lying and telling people I had my first baby when I was, like, 9 instead of 24 🙂
My aunt used to tell everyone that she was 10 years OLDER than she was. She said then people would give her compliments all the time on how young she looked.
Age is in the mind anyway, if your healthy.
Age is in the mind anyway – My exact thought.
I’m around 72.
That is a splendid IDEA!!! I look fantastic for someone who is… 46 🙂
on becoming a working slob. And at a bakery — have you checked out whether the pornography laws cover cookies?
It’s a express (off shoot) of an existing bakery that’s been around for 81 years. Great goods and reputation. Some just aren’t away of this little joint. So that’s part of my job 🙂

Always time for friends. Always. But something along the lines of Quality vs Quantity… but every kid can tell you they’d rather have both times. 🙂
What classes are you going to take?
No Idea. That’s what always prevents me from going in I think. well,… that and lately we’ve been trying to figure things out here at home/school.
Portland Community College is just down the road. Others who work there go, too.
But really I just need to figure out what credits I already have. I did go before for 2 years. General studies and some liberal arts…
How about a class “How to Get Paid for Working for CodePink WITHOUT Going to DC or Beirut!” :0)
LOL
That topic is waaay too specific and practical for a school subject 🙂
Good luck figuring it out — I always figure that half the battle is just forcing yourself to register.
But we’ll all stand by to be your study buddies — for when you need that study break!
School, classes, kids, protests and a “straight 9-5 er”
um … maybe you need a fine arts credit and you can take guitar?
What would the job at the comics place have been like? Would it have been better at the bakery?
It would have been a secretarial/receptionist job. I put in for it though. Got a resume and all that stuff done last week. (Another reason I’ve been “silent” on the blogs)
Hmmmm I have lots of liberal arts stuff from theater work… that would be as Andi says a door in to getting me “unclustermucked” in the head about classes 🙂 Good idea Mary!! Thanks!!!
let the teacher think I have no background to guitar and they can tell me how much of a natural I am 🙂
You need to get a transcript from your former school and make an appointment with an academic advisor.
But my advice is to find a class that interests you without worrying about how it applies. It will make it a lot easier to work yourself back into a “school” mode if you are taking something that you will enjoy.
Do you want me to open the next cafe? I haven’t done it much lately so I probably owe one.
Good idea — refresh your brain before you go drowning it in fine Italian wines; better chance you won’t wipe out all the brain cells that carry that specific knowledge.

That’s a very good plan, DJ — I like it a lot.
it’s AN express bakery from the main one.
And some aren’t AWARE of it… yet.
Sorry, long week and longer day.
It’s bad when even I can’t read my own posts 🙂
Froggy Bottom announces that he has recovered from his split personality and a new LOUNGE is open. Come on over.
