Hi Manny and Boo, I am here with you too, same problem.
Well if you are still up, check out my new diary it will no doubt send you off to sleep, just kidding, it won’t.
Diane, your diary captures my feelings about this week so very well. My classes started this week, and it has been awful to face them and get going. I dread this whole period between now and the election. Keep waking up thinking we are going to be at war with Iran at any moment.
ah, yes. The Newf Void. That so well describes my apartment. It is indeed suffering from the Newf Void.
I am somewhat amused at the prospect of someone trying to train their Newf to be an attack dog. I can’t think of a living creatue less suited to the purpose.
I think I may feign interest in obtaining another Newf in order to go play with a litter of newf puppies. Is that wrong?
then I’m guilty. Before Bud, I would do random trips to the pet shops or adoption centers to just be around dogs as I was still mourning the loss of my last childhood compadre. His name was Junior, he was an American Eskimo.
She slept through the night and she’s dozing off now. I think it’s more the pain medicine, which is good. I’m going to give her another hour or so and see how she feels and if she says yes, we’ll head home. If not, we’re here for another day.
I meant to sleep in today, but I’ve gotten three election phone calls already (two of which were pre-recordings) — I will be so glad when Tuesday’s primary is over! I’ve never seen so much campaign mail, or gotten so many calls.
This being Maryland (especially this part of Maryland, where Democrats outnumber Republicans two-to-one), it’s the primary election that’s the big one — November’s general will just be a formality. And stakes are high… a lot of incumbents are feeling some serious heat, and they’re not used to that, let me tell you…..
My ballot has something like eighteen — count ’em, EIGHTEEN — candidates trying to get Senator Paul Sarbanes’ US Senate seat. Only two of them really count, though, Kweisi Mfume and Ben Cardin. Their campaigns have been pretty mellow and polite — it’s the state and county races that have been the nasty ones.
Wish us luck, we have some really great progressive candidates this time around…. but still, every time the phone rings, I groan…
If you’re on the East Coast, use it to wake up.
If you’re on the Left Coast, use it to sober up.
π
How will this help with my insomnia?
I miss Newfs.
I’m a chronic insomniac so can’t offer you any suggestions to battle it but here’s something that can maybe someday ease the Newf void.

Good morning Andi and everyone.
How’s Family Mom?
She slept through the night and she’s dozing off now. I think it’s more the pain medicine, which is good. I’m going to give her another hour or so and see how she feels and if she says yes, we’ll head home. If not, we’re here for another day.
I just went over to your place and read the detailed description of your night — you must be exhausted.
Yes it’s been a rough last couple of days. I put my no coffee drink rule by the wayside and have actually been wired. π
Maybe waiting a day to drive back so you can get some rest wouldn’t be such a bad idea.
It’s all up to FMom. If she wants to go today, then we go. If she doesn’t feel well enough, then we stay.
Actually it’s not that bad of a drive, and I don’t plan on getting lost this time. π
I’ve got to get cleaned up and ready for the day, so I’ll talk to everyone later.
Have a good day in the pond.
I just read what happened over at your place. I hope FMom is feeling better this morning, and you be careful driving back.
Just posted a comment on your blog but you know I am sending warm thoughts of Love & Healing to you and Fmom and everyone else!!!!
I hope everyone had a great nights sleep and is all ready for a fabulous weekend!!!!!
Tired of Bush’s & The Repugnants Lies?
The weather is gorgeous and not hellishly hot. The boy and I are headed here for the day.
Be thinking about FM and his mom today – hope you get back home safe and sound.
I am envious of your plans for the day…have fun!
I use to go there all the time many years ago when I lived in NC. Have a great day!!!!!!
Good morning, everyone…. oooh, COFFEE!

Tha is why I am glad I only have a cell phone. Most of them don’t have my number. LOL
