Recently Glitterscale wrote a diary on Booman asking if we wanted to do a group project as follows:
I have been watching What the Bleep again. And I thought we might try an experiment, if you all are game. We have the internet and our connecting pcs that can act as conductors of our intentions.
We are all connected in this community with multifold desires – 1) to affect change in the world, 2) make that change peaceful, 3) speak truth to power.
I thought it a good idea and offered my help and Shirlstars did as well. Thinking of it for this past week, I have kind of refined it down to asking anyone who reads these words to offer a meditation, prayer, thought or whatever is most comfortable for you, directed towards Peace and a Change in this government and in the world.
I thought the easiest thing would be for readers to each day at 12:00 noon, wherever in the world you are, think of what the world could be like, how you would like it to be. Then project that thought outwards, to those in high place, those in government, through the keyboard into the internet and out to all, like little peacebots.
I know we are all concerned about the upcoming election, even if our votes will count or be counted, or counted correctly…from what we hear and know about the machines, that is looking less hopeful as we march up to election day and already we hear the stories from primaries about the malfunctions and incorrect counts. So maybe this is one thing that those of us unable to get out and do the various things required for an election, can do to positively effect change.
Let me know what you think of this plan, will you join in, will you be a part of it.
This following was added by Shirlstars:
Thoughts and intentions have energy, like energy attracts like energy. This works. Make this really simple, I think it would work best if just everyday at noon we each took a couple of minutes to focus on PEACE. If you wish to spend more time and imagine more details, that is up to you, but not necessary. Just feel peace, take a couple of deep breaths and feel peace. . .imagine it. Then breathe it out all over the world.
Peace. . . . . . .and so it is.
This only works if you keep the negative out of it. It needs to be positive. So think PEACE.
Hugs and Blessings of peace to all,
Shirl
Derek, saw this diary on Village Blue and posted the following, which I think ties in perfectly with this project.
Here you are Diane — a forwarded letter about a synchronized world peace meditation On Thursday:
Global Meditation 21 September, 2006 — International Day of Peace
I am very happy to announce that Findhorn will participate in a unique global ritual for peace 21 September, 2006 in honour of the International Day of Peace.
From 3.30-4.30 pm GMT, groups will gather in our sister community of Auroville (India), the Findhorn Community (Scotland), and the California Institute of Integral Studies (USA) for a sacred ceremony that will be linked via web-cam. The ceremony will also be broadcast live over the internet to a global audience who will be able to participate from their own homes.
The Gaiafield Meditation and Prayer Vigil 2006 is a pilot project to test the effectiveness of internet communication technologies to link groups around the world for global meditation events. The Gaiafield Project aims to support greater networking between the many existing groups that share the vision of bringing together hundreds of thousands of people for global meditation and prayer events.

So there you have it, please join us!!!! I have located this global time converter site here, which can be used to find local time.
Let me put my two pennies in here.

LOL! It never hurts to repeat yourself. . .something I do more often these days.
So I won’t apologize. I stand by my twice stated statement.
Hugs and Peace,
Shirl
Both of you: ShirlStars and Diane101 for paying attention and running with the idea. It is interesting that Findhorn is working on a similar idea isn’t it? And gaiafield net has a great piece of art, music and meditation just on its site without going further.
I live in the midwest so I am about 5 hours behind GMT So I believe it will be about 10:30 but that doesn’t jibe with the California time shown there. But I will ask them to include me and clue me into the process. I am excited about this. But I don’t believe that just one time will do it. It needs to be repeated over and over because the repetition will make the intention stronger. But I will take what I can get, right?
Thank you again for finding this. Love to you dear hearts.
meditation everyday at noon in addition to the Findhorn/Gaia meditation. Although I begin my work at noon, I will meditate at 11:00 and add the intention that my meditation will join with yours at the appropriate time.
Hi Jo, yes I was quite surprised when Derek posted the Findhorn info.
I thought I was slow getting this diary done, but now I think it is perfect timing. I will post something Wed. night to remind folks about Thurs.
I found this time converter
here which one can use to calculate local time where ever you are in the world.
Yes I agree that we, might want to do many meditations or thoughts for Peace, which is what I am planning for myself.
I don’t know if a can adhere to the schedule. I will commit to setting aside some time each day to meditate on peace.
I don’t know if I completely belive in this, but I don’t disbelieve either. I’m willing to try. My thoughts this morning have been anything but peaceful as I read and hear of the upcoming war with Iran.
Warm and wonderful thoughts to you all.
Hi Kahli, since I started working on this diary and idea a week ago, I have found myself just doing short little meditations on peace whenever I think about it, and I think that is fine, anytime or anywhere it is offered.
Who knows what works. I have seen several times where group meditation or thoughts have had an effect, once on the weather in florida during raging fires in that state. Of course acheiving peace will be a lot harder, but what can it hurt to try.
Warm thoughts to you too Kahli…
Thanks Diane. I’ll be there.
Good Alice, I hope many others will join us especially on Thurs.
