I’m so happy to see an Open Thread. I’ve been wondering all morning where to put a question I have.
Watching CNN this am, their lead news item has been the video of two 9/11 hijackers laughing it up at a supposed training camp in Afganistan years ago. Will someone tell me why this is such breaking news?!! Oh yeah, election coming up – never forget to pump the 9/11 fear and anger.
But Chris Dodd had a wonderful come-back to Wolfie when he was presented with the video. He used it as an opportunity to talk about, according to the NIE report, there are many more terrists whopping it up with Osama these days as a result of our occupation of Iraq (a little editorializing from me, but that was basically his point).
Good for Dodd…

As usual, the real story has been missed by the MSM. Why wasn’t the video been made public long ago? Why is it being made public now? And forgive my ignorance, but I don’t know who released the video to begin with, nor how it was acquired. Ignorance comes from not having read stories on this, since I foolishly didn’t consider laughing dead guys newsworthy.
I just wanted to let everyone who responded to my diary about showing support for KO in the wake of the fake anthrax attack that I haven’t heard anything back from him or MSNBC yet.
I still think it was a good idea and thank everyone who particpated.
As the spouse was finishing up packing for our return home from our weekend away (had a great time, now I’ve got to get back to the damn homework), I listened to the “Dan Patrick Show” I downloaded just before we left Friday.
During “The Big Show” hour (when Keith Olbermann does the show with Dan, usually on a remote from NY when Dan’s in Bristol, CT), Dan made a comment about something and didn’t get an immediate response from Keith. When he queried Keith about what was going on, Keith made a remark like, “Sorry, I was distracted with some moving paperwork.” So, it looks like KO now has to move to his own version of the Cheney “undisclosed location” bunker, thanks to the sterling efforts of the NY Daily Spews.
That may be distracting him from responding to any fan mail (or anti-fan mail) right away — but I’m not too worried, he at least knows we’re behind him…
the NY Post that made the report, but “Daily Spews” is such a better name for them…
If I were a TV personality of any type I’d do what Steve McQueen used to do — have all my mail sent to my lawyer’s office. If I remember right Dustin Hoffman lives in an apartment with the name “Sanchez” on the mailbox or something like that.
There are definite drawbacks to fame. If ever anyone asks me whether I would rather be rich and famous, I’d choose rich ten times out of ten. I have no desire to be famous.

to keep positive thoughts…that she made it to a place of safety, but one without Internet access, or that she had to abandon all possessions including computer.
