Democrats had a 23-point lead over Republicans in every group of people questioned — likely voters, registered voters and adults — on which party’s House candidate would get their vote. That’s double the lead Republicans had a month before they seized control of Congress in 1994 and the Democrats’ largest advantage among registered voters since 1978.
Nearly three in 10 registered voters said their representative doesn’t deserve re-election — the highest level since 1994. President Bush’s approval rating was 37% in the new poll, down from 44% in a Sept. 15-17 poll. And for the first time since the question was asked in 2002, Democrats did better than Republicans on who would best handle terrorism, 46%-41%.
“It’s hard to see how the climate is going to shift dramatically between now and Election Day,” said John Pitney, a former GOP aide on Capitol Hill who now teaches at Claremont-McKenna College in California. He said Iraq remains the biggest problem for Republicans: “People just don’t like inconclusive wars.”
Now, let’s count the votes correctly…
Just can’t seem to get that Stalin quote out of my mind, damn it.
The one thing that can guarantee our War Prezinint and his Rubberstamp Posse in Congress are still ridin’ tall in the saddle come November 8th is some more war.
The dangerous period begins from October 21st, when the war flotilla that sailed from Norfolk last Tuesday reaches the Gulf. If the carrier they are supposed to be replacing (the Enterprise) rotates home, fine and dandy. If it stays on station, look out.
It is an utterly irrational plan, attacking Iran. No sane group of people would do it. It’s crazy. It’s stupid. It’s stoopid stoopid. Absolutely right.
Now that we have that out of the way, this Administration is going to do it because they can no more turn away from their ‘vision thing’ of dominating the world through dominating the oil bearing nations than a grizzly bear can turn away from a picnic basket guarded by a Pekingese yap dog.
“I mean, it’s right there. Everyone will thank us afterwards. Those ragheads will overthrow their mullahs and toss flowers at our boys as they come marchin’ in.”
Yeah, yeah. Inside every Iranian is an American trying to get out, too.
My personal prediction is that Israel will start it by attacking Iran’s primary nuclear facilities. The moment Iran responds, in any way, Bush and Cheney and Rumsfeld will be on the American airwaves saying, “We have no choice in this dark hour but to support our dear friends . . .” and away we go.
Gulf of Ton Kin, Part Deux.

what’s heading Eastward, I wonder what’s going to be heading Westward, towards North Korea…
Nearly three in 10 registered voters said their representative doesn’t deserve re-election
Funny? It seems to me most of the polls I have seen put the number at closer to the 40% +/- level… (a little higher for GOP reps, a little lower for Dem reps when they broke the numbers down)
Doesn’t matter… (Most of) The cat is out of the bag. It is just those damned neocon rats hanging onto the tail as the cat uncontrolably scratches the last bit of life out of them… lol
