I’m planning my gardens for next year-I’m working towards all edible and medicinal and the least possible maintenance, what’s known around these parts as a food forest. Happy that it looks like I may have a date for Saturday. Still having some reality shifts from the inner work I’ve done in the past two weeks, some pleasant and some not. Plotting revenge on my fascist boss (as always).
Our local coffee shop spoken-word/poetry open mic hosts decided to bail so I’m taking over until I can help to form a group of some sort. It’s only once a month but a very friendly venue especially for first-time readers.
Was just going to do some more cleaning and then maybe poke around with some of the new tools we have at our disposal for digging stuff up on politicians after supper.
Another Rocket in Baghdad – 10.10.2006{Video Link, WMP}
Mortar and rocket attacks have become more and more common in Baghdad. They have even started to seem like the weapon of choice in the growing conflict between Iraq’s militias.
Today’s story is the second such event Alive in Baghdad has reported on in recent weeks. Um Basheer lives in a home near AiB correspondent Omar Abdullah. When her home was struck in the middle of the night, he rushed to the scene to bring you this story.

I’ve been chuckling about the Gas Wars going on over at Kos. For those who didn’t see, Kos has a Chevron ad promoting development of fossil fuel resources and there seems to be a never-ending series of people complaining about it. I wonder if we might see a few more people heading this way, I’ve seen a couple of threads where people have basically been told to take their crap over to BooTrib.
At the risk of sounding like a cold hearted and ungrateful SOB ,I’m all for a community pulling together and helping someone, but this is a little over the top.
is a really crappy candidate. I say this as an impartial observer — that is, I have never heard him speak as a candidate or as a congressman before. So on Sunday night I listened to C-span’s coverage of the debate and without even seeing him, he came off as way to animated and scripted and combative and unable to stay focused on a question as he he was more intent on disparaging Corker than being honest and open and CONVINCING about his own ideas.
So here I am watching another live debate with Corker and Ford and I stand by my observation. He comes off as a phony. He’s just over the top, or trying to hard, or simply has a bad coach. Does anyone else think this too?
I want every dem to beat ever repub, but I would sure hate to have to vote in Ten.
Now, Jon Tester? What a breath of fresh air. That’s the kind of candidate I appreciate. I watched that debate the other night too. That guy is simply as genuine as they come. I hope to God he wins, we will be a much better country with more folks like him.
Accident or sabotage?
A FIRE!?!?!? BBC coverage, and the base they identify: Rasheed AB [includes FOB Falcon] from GlobalSecurity.org.
It sounds like a bad accident, the kind that can happen when you’ve got lots of munitions stacked around. Let’s hope there aren’t a lot of casualties.

Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses…
Someone in your MM-MB diary at dKos last night called BT’rs Drama Queens, or domething to that effect.
Kind of ironic.

Reuters reporting N.Korea may have conducted a second test
I wonder if the Bush regime will allow the news media to report a dollar amount applied to the damage from this ammo dump thing.
