Now the left wing bloggers are beginning to turn on old Neddie. First, it was Daily Kos, and now Arianna. But instead of me telling you, lets let her do the talking from her website. God, I couldn’t have scripted this better if I tried.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/arianna-huffington/help-save-ned-lamont-wri_b_31755.html
excited over Ned. He has always ben centrist but got mischaracterised becuse of opposition to Iraq. Also being up aginst Joe would automatically put you to the left, but then again there ar eplenty of Repubs who outleft Joe.
They are slamming Ned because he’s losing to a man who the left strongly believed was Adolf Hitler, minus the funny little mustache. And by the way, Lamont is no centrist, if that were true, he’d be Lieberman.
it just shows how far the country has shifted to the right since I left it.
of this paragraph from the FAQ:
You’re a moron. The article is meant to give Lamont tips.
Of course, these are things the blogosphere has been saying for a few weeks now. It’s nothing new, and you’re still a few days late and a couple hundred dollars short upstairs when it comes to this race.
Really, read the title of her opinion, that about says it all, brainiac!!!
this is a sad effort at a diary. Diaries are not just giving us a link, that is what the open threads are for.
At what point does enforcement of the “Don’t be a prick” rule come into effect?
Don’t you just want to brush his hair? A little?
🙂
Thank you for pointing that out. I hadn’t noticed. 🙂
So, are we to infer from this pic that the eastboastrepublican troll is really your corkscrew puppet? I don’t get it, please explain it to me.
Read much?
You need to learn how to post a link. And to read.
Sorry I thought I was somewhere else when I hit robo-rater. 🙁
Boy, you guys can’t admit to the fact that the liberal bloggers are ripping into little Neddie can you. MyDD is doing it, Daily Kos is doing it, and now Arianna. Instread you have to blame me, call me all sorts of names, and act like little two year olds. Also people want me banned for speaking out. But there is a little thing called freedom of speech that allows me to do what I’m doing. Why is it alright for you to speak out, but not me?? Just because I have a different opinion on Lieberman that all of you, doesn’t mean I’m not entitled to speak out about it.
If so, here’s a challenge. So far you’ve been pretty good at posting links to polls, other blogs (sometimes taken out of context, as with HuffPo) and the like slamming Lamont. You have not given any of us here who don’t think the same way (which is to say, pretty much everyone here) a good reason to change our minds and support your man.
Well, here’s your chance. I am throwing down the challenge to you to write a logical, decently-written, wrll-crafted, potentially persuasive diary telling us, in your own words and without using cut-and-pasted talking points from either side, exactly why we should support Lieberman’s candidacy.
It’s entirely possible to do this and go against the grain. For instance there are members who think Bob Casey is just as bad as Rick Santorum and doesn’t deserve our support. There are others who argue the opposite for a variety of reasons. Suppotters of both sides can make their cases without calling each other names or resorting to ad hominem attacks. In fact that is one of the best things about Booman Tribune.
You want to be treated as something other than a troll? Then show us what you got. Or go back under the bridge.
Your choice.
I rated up ECM’s latest comment. It was at 0.50, and I doubt he (?) is a TU who can read hidden threads. Now, he should be able to see your comment – one with which I agree, BTW.
Thanks, I thought of that after I posted the comment as I was on my way to a meeting.
As I said to Omir in another comment in this thread, eastboastrepublican won’t respond to any challenge to engage in substantive discourse. This approach has been tried at least half a dozen times before, and the prick-troll continues to taunt and hide from any meaningful conversation. Which is why I will shortly mega-troll rate this thread back into oblivion, unless Omir asks otherwise.
Hi blueneck,
I think you’re right – he won’t take the challenge. I have no problems with the 0-ratings (and have handed out a couple myself to this user).
Omir, the gauntlet has been thrown down at least a half dozen times now, with no substantive reply from the troll. It’s useless to try to engage this childish prick in any political discourse whatsoever. All he does is taunt and scream. Which is why I will shortly megatroll this thread into oblivion (again), unless you reply with a strong desire for me to refrain.
Hm. I at least want him to be able to see it so he has no excuses for his behavior. But let’s consider this an experiment. If you want to troll-rate him in this thread go ahead, and I’ll see if I can link to the challenge later if he pokes his nose out again.
I respect your attempt, it’s just that I’m telling you this user is now a bonified certified troll in my mind, and has been since the first post he/she made. I have troll-rated many of the most prickish comments into oblivion, with help from various other TUs along the way. I consider it my duty at this point to do so. The comment that started this thread is by no means his worst example, but the pattern is very very very clear that he is here to taunt us and smear us, not to offer any anything of worth whatsoever.
I can’t understand why BooMan isn’t doing anything about it, unless it’s his idea of a joke, or something.
Man oh man Omir, if I could give you 100 4s I would. The problem is that whenever he is directly confronted or asked to engage in a debate he retreats. Good luck.
Here’s the link to the challenge:

I suggest that anytime ecm pops his little head out of the burrow, we don’t reply to his post, we don’t try to engage him in debate, we just respond with a title something like “Take the Challenge” and the only thing in the reply is the link to that challenge. Eventually maybe he’ll get the hint.
I fully expect him to do like blueneck says and dodge the question. Well, we can show him that he can run but he can’t hide. If he takes me up on it I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
The biggest mistake we all make is taking the bait and posting any response to anything he writes. Children will usually take their ball and go home pouting when no one will play with them. I am probabaly the guiltiest one. Let’s all quit the game.
😉
Is that wine you are pouring me? You really want me to have wine after 25 years sobriety? LOL You’ll be sorry!
white port. Even better.
Ah…now I remember that is what you winos were drinking at my pad. Hey, speaking of that shall we start now and get another meetup going for socal after the first of the year?
definitely game for another meetup, lets start planning a rough outline after the election insanity subsides in a few weeks.
to go with it:
Technically both are off limits for me right now, but I’d be tempted to make an exception…
Who knows what “wine spo-dee-o-di” is? It’s a bartender stumper. Your only hint is that it involves port wine….
extra points for a literary reference….
remember, no internet search engines allowed….
Heck if I know, but the literary reference is to that great lyric poet of our time, Jerry Lee Lewis. (Although off the top of my head I have no idea who actually wrote the song, or if it’s out of the public domain.)
Now off to go look.
Wine spo-dee-o-di is a set of three shots. First, a shot of port, second a shot of whiskey, followed by another shot of port. Preferrably of course the whiskey is cheap and nasty and the port is at least slightly better. It’s a way to consume vast quantities of bad whiskey and get very very sick.
As for the literary reference, Jack Kerouac mentions it in “On the Road”.
P.S. I didn’t remember the Jerry Lee Lewis song, though now that you mention it I think I might have heard it. It seems vaguely familiar.
It’s an old rockabilly standard, apparently written (so a bit of googling tell ms) by a guy named Sticks McGhee. It’s the sort of thing that I’d be surprised if a person with a reasonably wide musical education hadn’t heard at least once.
The bit about Kerouac surprises me not at all.
well, now that I’ve googled it myself, I recall that there are two common spellings, which I happily mixed together.
spodiodi (Kerouac) or spo-dee-o-dee (Sticks McGhee, who was supposedly Brownie McGhee’s little brother. I have a copy of all of the Brownie and Sonny LP’s ever pressed. That’s Brownie on guitar and singing, with Sonny Terry, the blind harmonica player – that’s some serious blues for ya, fer sure.)
And seein’ as how Jerry Lee was a Mississippi boy like me and his cousin Elvis, I am positive I have heard the song, but can’t recall the tune…
Not that anybody but you is going to see this at this point, but I got to looking through my music collection last night, and it turns out I have a copy of McGhee’s version of “Drinking Wine, Spo-de-oh-dee.” It’s on a collection of jukebox favorites from 1949.
Here’s a link to a page about McGhee. At the bottom you’ll find a link to the first minute of “Drinkin’ Wine, Spo-de-oh-dee.”
THANKS!
Yes, I suppose you’re right. I’m just nice enough to give the guy the benefit of the doubt (to a certain point), and if he gets kicked off the site for violating The Rule, I don’t want him to be able to go crying and saying those mean Bootribbers didn’t give him a chance.
Hey Manny, I want some cheese with that wine.
He has to hit and run because he can’t stay around long enough for someone to figure out his IP address. Of course, I think Booman could get that very easily if he wanted to. The only way I know of is to use the sitemeter link and that doesn’t give you the whole address.
It’s not hard to find someone’s IP address, although it’s not necessarily useful. There are plenty of tricks trolls can use to obfuscate IP addresses, open proxies and library computers being only two of them.
