Yeah I was thinking earlier that would probably cut into your morning walk routine. I look at it that we’ll get to see your woods in the afternoon light now. There’s always an up side. 🙂
I ‘spose but I really like starting my day off by getting my body moving, especially since there’s always a lag time between the body moving and the brain doing the same.
It seems to me my brain is working best first thing in the morning. From there is downhill for the rest of the day. I wonder if moving around more in the mornings would reverse the process? 🙂
Oh this one looks like it will be action-packed for sure. 2 projects due, a conference call today, orthodontist for CBtY this afternoon, more stuff on Wednesday, PP fundraiser on Thursday, and Chihuly in NYC Friday (if everything else gets done beforehand).
Relatives are here again for a week. So it will be a lot of cooking and cleaning up after everybody. Other than that, just squeezing in naps when I can. 🙂
I’m dreading that part. But at least I’ll get a couple of hours of work in first thing in the morning before I go for my walk, so I’ll feel more productive.
Mornings have always been my most productive part of the day. Before I retired I would always skip lunch because if I ate anything, I was totally useless for the rest of the day. Plus at about 4:00 pm I just started shutting down brain and body wise. After 4:00 pm all I could think of was getting home. 🙂
I know what you mean, my work day usually ends (for the most part) at 3, when the boys get off the bus; I take phone calls, and get organized for the next day, but usually don’t write too much late in the day unless I have a tight deadline. Like this morning, I already have 2 and a half hours in, and I’ve finished my outline that was due. Hopefully, I can run through my next project pretty quickly too.
It was the April change I didn’t like — I’m looking forward to ‘falling back’ since it will get light earlier. Maybe I can switch back to morning walks for awhile.
Well I’ve got to go and start cleaning on the kitchen. I think this morning I’ll make a breakfast casserole so I won’t be the acting short order cook when everybody get up.
I love those slightly foggy Autumn mornings. This was taken last week. It’s the old apple tree in my front yard… wild, hoary and twisted, and yet somehow beautiful.
It’s pretty simple really. Fry up some bulk sausage, take about 6-8 pieces of white bread and tear apart, about 10 eggs, a little milk and cheddar cheese.
Put the bread in the bottom of a casserole dish, cover with sausage and cheese and then pour the beaten eggs and milk over it. It’s best to let it sit in the refrigerator overnight, but you don’t have to. Salt and pepper to taste and any herbs you would like.
Hi, Andi. Thank you very much, but as long as you have to cough up so many beautiful pictures for the cafe almost daily, I figure that I can make the occasional sacrifice. Actually, I think everyone’s hoarding just a bit these days. Don’t you worry, I’ve got a few squirreled away. 😉
Probably only so-so color for the rest of fall — the high winds stripped off a lot of the leaves from the really colorful trees like the maples, dogwoods, and tulip poplars and what still has to turn is mostly beeches and oaks which often go brown really fast.
Things are very hectic at the Casa Damnit. Autism. School. Job. Halloween fun… etc etc.
Still busy protesting and such… but alot of it is supporting War Resister and complete withdrawal of ALL our troops from Iraq… so I just don’t have the energy to diary it.
Things are getting hella scary out there my friends. I anticipate violence to erupt soon. The Riot Police are getting just as nasty and misogynistic as the the Regime… but you won’t see it on the news. So it “didn’t happen at all”.
Been reading “Get Fuzzy” toon books 🙂 and just picked up Chuck Palahniuk’s “Fugitives and Refugees” about Portland 🙂 I read about three pages and I wake up 5 hours later with a book jammed against the bridge of my nose.
Yeah, we’re watching our behinds out there. Last rally here in Portland it got nasty… and it seems it’s just gonna get nastier and nastier because they keep getting away with it.
Gotta get my dupa out and catch up on errands and groceries today.
Oh my brother is definitely coming out for a month in January to get ready for the big move back West from Boston. I really need him around and in the kid’s life. I miss him so much.
I was thinking of ya … {{{DJ}}} … and yeah, it must be hectic time for you all . Working in the new job is just the tip of the ice berg. You be careful out there — it sounds like it could become very dangerous (not that it isn’t already). And please check in when you get a chance so that we know you’re all okay.
Hey, I was thinking about you the other day. We were out walking around our neighborhood on Saturday doing some errands and there at the main intersection in our business district, there were protesters at all four corners. Some had “US OUT OF IRAQ” signs, a couple had pasted an “N” over the “Q.” Nobody that I saw was giving them any of the grief you are getting.
If I’d have had my banjo along I probably would have grabbed a milk crate and started belting out some songs. I might have to consider it if they’re there again in the future.
Well as long as he thinks it’s funny and not scary, I guess that’s OK. They both get some enjoyment out of it.
I remember reading a magazine article a while back about a study someone did to find out why dogs bark. Their conclusion boiled down to “Because they enjoy it.”
I hope you day is hopping along smoothly, comrade frogs!
I’ve recently been using an anxiety-relieving technique called EFT (I don’t remember what the acronym stands for). It’s pretty woo-woo and the developers make some wild claims for results but it certainly has brought my stress level down to manageable levels on more than one occasion. And they’re perfectly willing to give away the instructions for free. It basically involves tapping various acupuncture points-not a clue as to why it works for me.
It looks kinda woo-woo to me, as they say on Mythbusters, but what the heck. If it’s free and might have some good, why the heck not? I’m going to read it over and see if it might benefit my daughter (depression) or my wife (stress).
I just hope that being depressed and stressed is not a symptom of living in the same household with me. That part I don’t really want to fix.
Omir, it is indeed woowoo and I’m a pretty skeptical person but sometimes things work for other reasons-maybe the affirmation part or the acupressure stuff or something we don’t know about. A counselor I saw didn’t do the hand tapping other than the initial “karate chop” one and it works fine.
Living in this world as it is is enough to make people depressed and stressed; I’m for changing that instead of forcefeeding a society anti-depressants (no offence if they work for some of you froggies).
The Missouri Supreme Court just struck down the Missouri Voter ID law, finding that it violated the Equal Protection Clause of the US Constitution and the Mo. Constitution’s Right to Vote. Great news for Missouri and McCaskill.
It was a 6-1 decision. The dissenter was Judge Steven Limbaugh Jr. — Rush’s cousin.
Good morning Andi.
We’re finally getting some rain down here. How’s it looking up there?
Dark. 🙂
Yeah it’s the same here. I have to admit I like it getting dark earlier. Doesn’t make me feel so geezerly going to bed early. 🙂
that it’s staying dark so late in the mornings because I have to switch to walking at noon.
Yeah I was thinking earlier that would probably cut into your morning walk routine. I look at it that we’ll get to see your woods in the afternoon light now. There’s always an up side. 🙂

Dark here too. And it feels like it only took aout a week for the days to get really short this year.
I know what you mean about it not taking that long for it to get darker. Seems like it just sprang up.
So are you ready for another fun filled week?
Oh this one looks like it will be action-packed for sure. 2 projects due, a conference call today, orthodontist for CBtY this afternoon, more stuff on Wednesday, PP fundraiser on Thursday, and Chihuly in NYC Friday (if everything else gets done beforehand).
How about you?
Relatives are here again for a week. So it will be a lot of cooking and cleaning up after everybody. Other than that, just squeezing in naps when I can. 🙂
I only care about when it gets light so daylight savings time made the days seem shorter really early.
I always forget when the change occurs. That will be coming up soon won’t it?
Thanks. Now I have something else to look forward to. 🙂
I’m dreading that part. But at least I’ll get a couple of hours of work in first thing in the morning before I go for my walk, so I’ll feel more productive.

The getting dark earlier is my problem…and the light earlier part just doesn’t last long enough, IMO.
Speaking of walks, I better get going so I can squeeze one in before my conference call today.
Well I’ve got to go and start cleaning on the kitchen. I think this morning I’ll make a breakfast casserole so I won’t be the acting short order cook when everybody get up.
See ya’ll later and have a good day in the pond.
I love those slightly foggy Autumn mornings. This was taken last week. It’s the old apple tree in my front yard… wild, hoary and twisted, and yet somehow beautiful.
Oh, the tree. I thought you were describing me! 🙂
Obviously if I was talking about you I would have added stunningly, hauntingly beautiful. The tree isn’t THAT great.
I’m still giggling. 🙂
Oh my gosh – I’m going to print that out and frame it whenever I’m feeling old and hoary! 🙂
Now why would you ever feel that way?
I think you’ve got at least 25-30 years before you can even aspire to that. 🙂
As long as it’s not old and “whorey” I guess I can live with it
Good morning Nag and SN.
Beautiful picutre Nag and SN I thought she was talking about you too. 🙂
Mornin’, FM. Is that breakfast casserole ready yet? That made my mouth water.
Yep it’s ready and already been dug into. I’m sending you a big virtual plate full. 🙂
Yeah, FM … tell us what you put in your breakfast casserole … okra? 😉
Hi Olivia.
I need to be on the Food Channel. 🙂
Oh I forgot, you need to bake at about 350 degrees for about 20-30 minutes. I never much for the raw egg thing. 🙂
To your slack-a-day calendar … go look at your b and see the comment I left … 🙂
No okra? No pimento cheese? No spicy eggs? LOL
I saw over at the b. and nope it was just a mundane breakfast today. 🙂
so how come you didn’t save it for the photo fair? 😉
Hi, Andi. Thank you very much, but as long as you have to cough up so many beautiful pictures for the cafe almost daily, I figure that I can make the occasional sacrifice. Actually, I think everyone’s hoarding just a bit these days. Don’t you worry, I’ve got a few squirreled away. 😉
I hope some of them are of bella Bella. 🙂
That’s a gorgeous photo up top … Did you take it recenty — so that would be where you are at w/ the colour changing?
that was Saturday. The big orange tree is a hickory.
excellent for you and us … 🙂
Probably only so-so color for the rest of fall — the high winds stripped off a lot of the leaves from the really colorful trees like the maples, dogwoods, and tulip poplars and what still has to turn is mostly beeches and oaks which often go brown really fast.
Peeking in to say “HELLO!”
Things are very hectic at the Casa Damnit. Autism. School. Job. Halloween fun… etc etc.

((((Olivia)))) HOCKEY TIME!
Hi Janet! Nice to hear that things are frenetically normal for you. Please please watch your dupa out on those streets, K?
As for hockey, I just don’t get why they are ripping someone’s “faceoff” every few minutes. Jeeze, talk about violent. 😉
Hello Nag 🙂 I love hockey!
Yeah, we’re watching our behinds out there. Last rally here in Portland it got nasty… and it seems it’s just gonna get nastier and nastier because they keep getting away with it.

Oh my brother is definitely coming out for a month in January to get ready for the big move back West from Boston. I really need him around and in the kid’s life. I miss him so much.
Great news about your brother. You’ll have a whole month to just be together. It’ll also give you something to look forward to during winter.
Glad to hear from you, even the ‘bad stuff’.
Anyway, I hope all is well with you and your family and thatyour first Halloween in your new house is a grand one.
Be careful and let us know what’s going on.
Hang in there and watch out. The rats are finally figuring out that they’re cornered.

Well, here it is another Monday. Are we having fun yet?
Hellooooo Omir.
How your day going?
Oh, the usual round of tea parties and cotillions. How about you?
Not much, just listening to George barking his head off at a great nephew. The nephew is only three and he thinks it’s funny as can be.
Well as long as he thinks it’s funny and not scary, I guess that’s OK. They both get some enjoyment out of it.
I remember reading a magazine article a while back about a study someone did to find out why dogs bark. Their conclusion boiled down to “Because they enjoy it.”
“Because they enjoy it.”
In that case George has fun all the times. Can’t say I look at it the same way. 🙂
Sure Olivia, enjoy my pain. 🙂
I’m enjoying George’s joy … 😛
George thanks you very much. 🙂
…at my b — Looks like he’s going to give you a run in the hairy dept. 😀
Just went over and took a look. Good costume, but not hairy enough. 🙂
but he’s pretty close … 🙂
Well, they didn’t say we were going to enjoy it, just that the dogs apparently do.
As I said, George has been having a blast. 🙂
I hope you day is hopping along smoothly, comrade frogs!

Hi Soup. Glad you found something that works for you.
I’m taking a break to celebrate.
Pfft – what a surprise.
Come over to the new lounge.
Yay!!!
Take a break and lets get wild in Happy Hour Mary. 🙂
