After the passing of the late, great Buck O’Neil, the following story was told:
Buck O’Neil was walking down the street with some friends. The group entered a building, only to find that Buck had somehow disappeared. One of them went outside to see him down the block, talking animatedly to a young woman in a red dress.
Tipping his cap to her, he headed for the building to join his friends. “Was that someone you know, Buck?” one of them asked.
“Never met her before,” O’Neil replied…adding with a wink, “but I know one thing — life’s too short not to stop and talk with a pretty woman in a red dress.”
Partial to purple here…but if I ever get skinny, I’m going to buy myself a red dress in honor of Buck…

You forgot to tell us to grab a box of tissues on the way over. Heart wrenching but award winning. Everyone should see this folks. SOmeone send to George and Dick. Not that they would care or anything. Like Snowe said “its just a number” to them.
I was on a business trip last week and finally got around to reading the dairy and seeing the slide show. It was so touching to see the care and thoughtfulness. I just wished that the Bush Administration would have been as thoughtful prior to engaging this country into a cycle of war and death. Thanks for the link and an opportunity for me to once again allow my heart to cry for these men and women who are giving their lives for a group of narrow-sighted leaders.
Orange. (As a color, not a cyber site.) But I like green, too. (As both)
Black and orange this fall. Go Bears, 6-0!! Not that they really deserved to win last night but a win is a win and I am looking forward to a season like ’85!! Can you sing the SuperBowl Shuffle?
