I just watched Rick Santorum’s concession speech. What a wonderful, bitter experience. Wonderful, because my commonwealth removed a filthy stain from the United States Senate. Bitter, because if there ever were an election cycle where we could have beaten Little Rick with a fire breathing liberal, this was it. We didn’t do that, and it’s really a shame. As Josh Marshall notes, Santorum’s concession was gracious. Sadly, his career in the Senate was anything but gracious.
or some other MSNBC talking head, Rick’s likely to spend the next four years rehabilitating his image in preparation for a run at the PA governor’s office when Rendell’s termed out.
Be afraid, Pennsylvanians…be very afraid…
I doubt he can. Santorum can be faulted for many things, but he say what he believes. It may be repellent, but you know were he stands.
He made a surprisingly gracious concession speech. I was surprised. Not being a Pennsylvanian, I expected him to do the usual rethug airhead act. But he performed well. I’m surprised. I’m happy he won, but I am surprised that a man who could concede defeat as gracefully as he did, was such a shit-head on things that count.
Something to ponder over more cognac and port. We don’t know all the answers to the human condition.
correction. happy he lost. I’m deep into my cups after the Dem win of the House.
