I’m not interested. I like Gore, even more now that he has loosened up a bit. But he had his chance. We need a new person not a rerun. (BTW, Kerry’s dream to run again is pathetic.)
I agree about Edwards. I want to see some action from Obama before I get swept up in frenzy. Now that we have the Senate, let’s see him get some legislation through that corrects some of the GOP horror stories.
I like Edwards, but I question whether or not he has the necessary governmental experience. Personally, I think he should run for NC governor in 2008 when Easley’s term is up.
I’ve been a fan of Gore since I was a kid. I never really gave a damn about whether he was stiff or wooden; he came off as someone who was intellectually sharp and knew how to work in the government.
As for the 2008 Democratic contenders, only Feingold has the three qualities I think are the most important: ample time in elected government, a background in national security, and shares my policy views. But I like Gore more because the man represents everything about this next generation that will be important, and it’s only fitting that he is the one who leads us forward. I’d be damn glad with Feingold as his running mate, though.
Gore is brilliant. He knows his science inside and out. He visited some heavy duty science professor types friends of mine at Ohio State in the last few years and impressed the heck out of them.
However, I don’t think he could ever win an election for President. It doesn’t matter how bright or adept he is. Sorry, but that’s politics in the good old USA. You have to be a pretty face and a good talker…Mr/Ms Personality.
Obama? No. Too young. Too rash. And I don’t like youngsters who scold their elders in public when they’re they new kids on the block.
I think we need to keep an eye on James Webb. I kinda like the sound of him….but he’s too new to the arena also.
We NEED to have a democrat win and keep the congress as well.
What the heck! I’d like to draft Howard Dean. That’s how on-top of things I am. I really like the guy. The only feathers he’s ruffled needed to be ruffled.
Ruffled — absolutely!
Me, I’m unashamed to admit I was(?) a Deaniac for ’04; however, he’s just gotten started with the DNC. Let’s see what he can do.
😉
We have seasons here and my favorite is fall, but it’s been unusually warm. The colors are still beautiful though. In Cleveland the fall is about 8 days long and then the sun goes in until May.
That three hr. difference is a bummer in some ways, Puget, but except for Hawaii, we enjoy the end of the day last. It`s like everybody went to bed & you have the place to yourself. Here`s a hawkfish to keep you company. Note his tribal headress.
That is a coral. I was talking about all the little bows with the little white tips along it`s back. I take the pix in my reef tanks. Here`s a little fish I`ve had for years, but looks like he`ll never grow up. He`s got an infantile face & a little shyness to his smile.
Here`s one of my tanks lit only by the sun. I have installed a skylight above this tank & treat them to natural light whenever I think about it. Normally they get a lot more light than this with the Metal Halides bulbs I have.
It’s still Armistice Day here on the left coast. Yes, I know the name’s been changed and that’s okay too. Thank you to all Veterans for risking your lives to protect us.
A quick question for all BooTribbers:
How interested would any of you be in joining a movement to draft Al Gore?
If a person doesn’t want to run for an office, I’m not inclined to try to push them into it.
I’m not interested. I like Gore, even more now that he has loosened up a bit. But he had his chance. We need a new person not a rerun. (BTW, Kerry’s dream to run again is pathetic.)
I’d prefer to draft Feingold.
I’m liking Edwards more and more and think Obama is destined for greatness – the question is when.
I agree about Edwards, I haven’t yet warmed up to Obama.

I have a draft Feingold and some pretzels. Where George when we need him?
I’ll have a draft Feinold and some pretzels ………
Psi, why Gore instead of someone else? What’s his appeal to you?

Just thought I’d hop on over!
and you even brought over a brand new froggie!
I have lots of froggie friends and they all love the Froggie Bottom Cafe!
this one looks how I feel — sleepy and ready for bed.
ribbett! [yawn] ribbet!
You have froggie friends?
over here trailing clouds of glory.
I can clean those clouds of glory right up!
The new motto of the FBC: suck it up!
Sounds like a better name for the Lounge. Is Jim is doing healthy stuff?
Dunno — define “healthy stuff”.
Skating, Biking, I expect now he’s got the Pilates ball and is rolling around.
I can just picture it. hee hee.
Skating and biking (he’s got his bike on a stationary trainer), yes. Everything else, no.
It’s mid November. I’m not supposed to be sweaty after taking a night time walk with the dog. Where did fall go?
It was 44 today and is 38 now. Come to Michigan for a Midwest Fall experience. Most of my family lives in Dallas. I always missed the seasons.
We have seasons here and my favorite is fall, but it’s been unusually warm. The colors are still beautiful though. In Cleveland the fall is about 8 days long and then the sun goes in until May.
Of course, forgot that you are from Cleveland. You know the drill then.
Fall? What Fall? You’re in The South™.
The fall is gorgeous, mild, sunny and waaaay longer than I’m used to. And since it’s my favorite season that’s okay with me.
Now the summers are another hellish story altogether.
Night folks. Thanks for answering my call of desperation. 🙂 Carry on.
Sleep well.
have fun trashing the place.
Take it easy, Andy. I think I’ll wander off for a while and do some errands. I’ll check back later.
Oh you guys. You are ready to hang it up just when I’m getting online to get started. Darn this 3 hour difference anyway.
That three hr. difference is a bummer in some ways, Puget, but except for Hawaii, we enjoy the end of the day last. It`s like everybody went to bed & you have the place to yourself. Here`s a hawkfish to keep you company. Note his tribal headress.

Wow! Cool. You mean the yellow thing? I thought that was a piece of coral or something. How do you get all these wonderful fish photos?
That is a coral. I was talking about all the little bows with the little white tips along it`s back. I take the pix in my reef tanks. Here`s a little fish I`ve had for years, but looks like he`ll never grow up. He`s got an infantile face & a little shyness to his smile.

very sweet. What are your reef tanks like? They must be huge as well as healthy and happy.
Here`s one of my tanks lit only by the sun. I have installed a skylight above this tank & treat them to natural light whenever I think about it. Normally they get a lot more light than this with the Metal Halides bulbs I have.

Oh, how beautiful!! And only natural light on them. Exquisite. Thanks for sharing!!
Here`s a different aspect of the same Hawkfish. It should give you a little perspective on size. This is a small portion of one tank.

It just takes my breath away. Thank you!
It’s still Armistice Day here on the left coast. Yes, I know the name’s been changed and that’s okay too. Thank you to all Veterans for risking your lives to protect us.
.. or the strength of character to commit to doing so, regardless of what their commanders’ follies were meant to accomplish.
Alas, I’m just poppin’ in to say hello, bound for bed (not glory). Howdy, Puget4! Hope to catch you again soon.
Enjoy the night, pondlings.
