Last Monday, this citizen still felt like they were in a continuing six-year-long national political nightmare.
Today, it’s more like…pinch me…this is almost too good to be true. Please don’t wake me up, if that’s the case.
It’s been a long time since this American citizen has felt comfortable with the direction of this country. We’re not there yet. But, unlike a week ago, there sure seems to be some light at the end of this six-year-long dark political tunnel.
What the F**K do you mean a god damn flame war, you sub-moronic, one-celled, idiot????
I can’t effing believe you want a effing flame war, you left-end outlier in the IQ distribution.
YOU CAN’T HANDLE AN EFFING FLAME WAR !!!!!
Ah hell, I’m no good at this, I’m using asterisks and “effing” for god’s sake. Pass me a beer and let’s all join in a chorus of “Happy Days Are Here Again!” Omir? Got your harmonica ready? Somebody give FM some spoons. 1, 2, 3 “Happy Days are here again………
oh just getting ready to take the trash out (it’s 400 meters to the end of the drive) and waiting for an email from someone who slept the day away. 😉
Hey FM, I was at a bookstore this evening and I saw a daily journal made just for you … it had the word Slackers on the front … but our idea of a daily calendar w/ slackisms is much better … this one was blank on the inside.
you come out w/ them all the time … just need to have someone write them down — like me — and then one day we can count them up and we’ll have enough … 🙂
in between my two previous comments. The dogs of course missed me greatly and so greeted my return with boundless love and devotion (or they would have if they had noticed I was gone).
Hi, Olivia, the Red Wings have definitely been brought down to earth this year, but they’re still pretty good. What’s up with your boys? I haven’t been paying to much attention to the NHL, but I seem to remember the Sens being much better than 6-9-1.
Sounds like what the Sens are going through … and yes, they’re doing very bad so far this year … worst season they’ve had. They’re playing tonight against the Habs … we shall see … 🙂
Doing okay. Shaken but not stirred. Had a run in with an alleged Marine this afternoon who just loooooooooooves Bush. He saw me in my coffee shop and I said nothing to him but I guess my NO WAR pin was too much freedom of speech for him to bear so he had to verbally come after me. Thank dawg the coffee shop owner knows me and is a 6’7″ big guy.
is it w/ those jerks that they feel the right to get up in ppl’s faces like that … I don’t get it. You be careful! I wouldn’t put it past them to follow you out of the coffee shop or something!
Heh, you could hide them in breakfast and let George serve them to the family.
I have been better than usual (physically, anyway), which is why I’ve not really been around here much lately. Whenever this damn disease gives me a break, I try to do loads of things that I don’t get to do otherwise so that the next time it cranks up and I’m stuck home and down so much, I can handle it psychologically. I’m starting to crash again now but I never know how long it will go on; it’s like a rollercoaster in the dark but not as much fun.
I saw over at your b that FMom gave you quite a scare recently. I sure hope she’s feeling better and I sure hope you’re feeling better, too. 🙂
Well you know you’ve got my thoughts with you. I’m glad you’ve been able to do a lot of things.
Yep FMom and I are back to normal right now. These last couple of months have been fairly rough. The way it has been going, I feel like I’m just waiting for the next thing to happen.
Writing’s been chaotic but good. Family is crazy but quiet. And politics is fan-damn-tastic! So, all in all, pretty good, even if I’m a little under the weather today. How about you? Do you have a home full of house guests again? Or are things back to slacktacular?
Thanks for the concern. I plan on sleeping late and slacking off tomorrow. Hopefully that’ll cure it. Have a good dinner, I’ve got to go do that myself in few minutes.
Hate to drink and run, but I’ve got to go to pharmacy and get some steroids for Sophie’s eye. Sophie is one of our senior cats. I’ll get the next round when I get back.
I had a little mishap involving a 50lb dog tangled in all of the cords in the back of the CPU, a couple of burned out lightbulbs in the ceiling fixture and inability to find a flashlight with live batteries. All is cool now.
I was strangely fascinated by William Frawley. He seemed liked a mean old fat bastard. What the hell was he doing hanging around with a Cuban bandleader? He was also the last great pants-up-to armpits TV character.
I’m troubled that you could pull his name out of a hat – but you know, I always wondered that same thing. They seemed unlikely friends. He’s got some splainin to do.
I didn’t remember that Fred was the landlord. But back then, heck even today, they pair young pretty women with old fat bastards. Look at Jim Belushi and that little blonde that plays his wife.
I saw this program on TV about Lucy and it said Fred almost didn’t get the job because of his drinking and it was in her contract that Ethel had to look frompy and dress accordingly. I think Vivian Vance and Lucy were about the same age.
No pushing. Please tip generously.
Pinch me…I must be dreaming…

Bottoms up.
I know precisely what you mean. What is this strange feeling? Could it be…..hope?
Anyone else find it easier to find things to Blog about now that they don’t have to be so “election specific” in the purpose?
I have no real direction and I am lovin’ it! lol
Maybe we could get into a flame war, just for old time’s sake. Nah, I’m too damn happy and optimistic.
What the F**K do you mean a god damn flame war, you sub-moronic, one-celled, idiot????

Hi Teach. I can do spoons, but prefer a washboard. Hides the beer belly. 🙂
Pass me the spoons then. Anybody got a mouth harp or a washtub bass? It’s skiffle time!
Now Omir is the man for that.
That’s a good one! 😀
Hi Olivia.
OK past middle aged spread. 🙂
How are you doing tonight?
Things should be back to normal now … 🙂
Thank goodness for that. Been missing you.
Next time your job does this, tell them to talk to me. I’ll set them straight. 🙂
Let’s hope that this was an extreme anomaly … I don’t expect to have it happen again … working on the w/es was not part of the job description.
Hey, Olivia. That’s frabjous. Glad to hear it.
I’ve been really missing the cafe … need to take a week to get caught up on what’s up w/ everyone!
taking a life-is-too-hectic break?
I think things are back to normal …. I slept ’til 1:30pm today and got all caught up on the sleep I’ve been missing this past week and a half. 🙂
I’ll be a lot more impressed if you tell me you went to sleep at 10:00 p.m. the night before.
but, 12am … That’s pretty impressive, right? 🙂
I guess for you that almost counts as miraculous.
I could have stayed longer but I was hungry … lol
So what’s up w/ you?
oh just getting ready to take the trash out (it’s 400 meters to the end of the drive) and waiting for an email from someone who slept the day away. 😉
Go check now … I see an e/m in your immediate future … 🙂
that was amazing — I didn’t know you had precognition.
… 🙂
That’s not a trek, it’s a journey of great magnitude. Poor Andi.
for Andi that’s probably nothing … 😛
Hey FM, I was at a bookstore this evening and I saw a daily journal made just for you … it had the word Slackers on the front … but our idea of a daily calendar w/ slackisms is much better … this one was blank on the inside.
A slacker calendar??? Now that’s a bit more than just ironic 🙂
yeah, isn’t it great!
Not for a true slacker. Effort and work would be required. 🙂
Well don’t you see that would be the perfect slack book. A true slacker would be too lazy to put anything in it. 🙂
and putting calendar pages in it and stuff, then adding slackisms wouldn’t be that much more work … LOL
So I’d have to think up 365 slackisms. A lot of work.
you come out w/ them all the time … just need to have someone write them down — like me — and then one day we can count them up and we’ll have enough … 🙂
Oh in that case. Just as long as I have to do nothing. 🙂
I have to keep striving for the perfect slackdom.
in between my two previous comments. The dogs of course missed me greatly and so greeted my return with boundless love and devotion (or they would have if they had noticed I was gone).
With frequent rest stops, it would probably taken me until after midnight.
I take the car — there’s no way I’m dragging a big ole trash can over a 1/4 mile.

You can always watch the Sharks 🙂
I think I might have to … ’cause watching the Sens makes me cry … lol
How are you doing!?
Doing okay. Shaken but not stirred. Had a run in with an alleged Marine this afternoon who just loooooooooooves Bush. What Olivia said DJ. You be careful.
They all start with the same shit every time
“I sacrificed so some bitch like you can protest the war .. .blah blah”
When actually most of them… this is from my new experience with threat emails… have never served at all.
But they like to think they can beat up on any woman because they think it’s heroic to shoot and kill Iraqi women and children.
You gotta start carrying around a bottle of these, babe:
Maybe we can grind some up into a liquid form and load up some blowdarts you can deploy strategically, as needed. ::thwup:: Right in the ass. 😉
If I were to aim for their asses, that’d mean I have to shoot them right in their foreheads… 🙂
Gotta take the kidlets to the library.
but I like the idea of leaving them whole and dropping them in strategic locations.
Good, because I broke the thread with it. Sorry everyone!
You didn’t break the thread. It was already like that.
Hi Indy. I’ll take 100 to begin with. 🙂
Wow you must really like them — usually you only have 27. 🙂
Heck they’re not for me, but I do know a lot of people I’d like to prescribe them to. 🙂
I haven’t seen you in awhile. How have you been doing?
We’ll need to organize a trip to Canada and load up on those bad boys. There’s a lot of Repubs out there who’ll need a few dozen.
Heh, you could hide them in breakfast and let George serve them to the family.

Thanks for the good wishes, and right backatcha, as always.
If beer is what’s for dinner, I’ll take 27 entrees please.
I’m in the mood for something tropical in the drinks department with fruit and funny colors and too many ingredients, you know, a celebratory drink.
Hi Kelly. I could take 27 of those too.
How have you been doing?
Writing’s been chaotic but good. Family is crazy but quiet. And politics is fan-damn-tastic! So, all in all, pretty good, even if I’m a little under the weather today. How about you? Do you have a home full of house guests again? Or are things back to slacktacular?
Relatives left yesterday so it’s back to slacktacular. 🙂
Hope you’re not coming down with a cold or the flu.
I suspect that I am, which means I need to put off having my flu shot for a couple more days, sigh. Glad to hear that peace has returned to FM land.
Thanks, but hate to hear you aren’t feeling well.
Definitely don’t want a flu shot even if you’ve got a slight cold.
Thanks for the concern. I plan on sleeping late and slacking off tomorrow. Hopefully that’ll cure it. Have a good dinner, I’ve got to go do that myself in few minutes.
TTFN
Hate to drink and run, but I’ve got to go to pharmacy and get some steroids for Sophie’s eye. Sophie is one of our senior cats. I’ll get the next round when I get back.
See ya in awhile.
I’ve got to start dinner, so I’ll be back in a minute.
Hello MM. Hope today is finding you well.
You’re starting to amaze me with all the different frog pictures. 🙂
Some people will do anything for attention! (Ribbett!)
Even without the “ribbit” pictures, I would be glad to see ya. How’s the CTS acting today?
CTS is being pampered.
That’s either a very big frog or a very small tire. I’m going for the very big frog.
I’m going for a giant, metal eating toad. It started chomping on a Humvee and all that’s left is the tire.
I think it’s asking… are these things worth the cost to the planet.
Wow! I’m living in duck and frog weather here in Portland Oregon. It won’t stop raining! But it sure is lovely here 🙂

Well, aren’t we chatty tonight.
I had a little mishap involving a 50lb dog tangled in all of the cords in the back of the CPU, a couple of burned out lightbulbs in the ceiling fixture and inability to find a flashlight with live batteries. All is cool now.
Hee hee. Have you started hollering and demanding to know whose damn bright idea it was to get a dog in the first place yet?
The problem is it was my idea – but I’ll blame it on Andi. Her dogs are so damn cute.
Hey she’s young. Give her six or seven years and she’ll calm down. 🙂
Oh, well, you’ll be needing this, then.
How luscious your breasts are?
I made them tonight and they are fabulous. Tender, juicy, succulent and tasty, with just the right mouthfeel.
Oh my. Well, I’m so glad you liked them. My breasts aim to please. 😀
Good aim.
And I think we sent Family Man hobbling off somewhere.
Oh riiight. Effexor.
? :/
Niiiiiice.
Didn’t I see all this on an “I Love Lucy” episode?
Well, I was stomping grapes and stuffing chocolates into my mouth while I tried to untangle the cords.
So another normal night at the Nature house?
Never a dull moment. Well, other than the dull moments, that is.
I like to think of the dull moments as mundane moments. 🙂
I thought it might be the Vegamitamin.
You forgot the meat. Vitameatavegemin.
Thanks. I knew something was missing, but I couldn’t remember what.
My daughter looooved old Lucy reruns, so we would watch them together. I liked Ricky myself.
Fred was the landlord. I kept wondering about Ethel though. She must have had a father complex thing going.
I didn’t remember that Fred was the landlord. But back then, heck even today, they pair young pretty women with old fat bastards. Look at Jim Belushi and that little blonde that plays his wife.
Yep Fred and Ethel owned the building.
The pairing is kind of odd. I guess TV is just trying to tell old fat bastards there is hope. 🙂
Or they’re trying to tell young pretty things that there is NO hope.
I never thought that Ethel was a pretty or young. But she deserved better than Fred.
I saw this program on TV about Lucy and it said Fred almost didn’t get the job because of his drinking and it was in her contract that Ethel had to look frompy and dress accordingly. I think Vivian Vance and Lucy were about the same age.
Makes sense to me. Lucy was the star and she couldn’t be upstaged.
Pretend this is a link to it.
I see a new step in slacking has appeared.
I learned from the best.
