How’s the plumbing coming along?
I don’t think Luna was quite who Darwin had in mind.
I did two days of plumbing back to back this week, and got the copper is completely done, which allowed the bathroom walls to finally be skinned. The shower base went in and the laundry tub only needs the waste pipe and flex hoses attached after the wall behind it has been re-rendered over the pipes (I told them not to cover the pipes until I could pressure check all the joints, but no one listens to me). I’ll probably go down again and finish framing the kitchen sink, so that I can do the final connections for it and the other fixtures.
They hope to move into the house in a month or so, and should be able to even if there are still some things that need finishing up.
It’s been an education.

But I have picked out a bench-top combination belt and disc sander that I’ll probably get with my pooled birthday cash.
I’d say that sounds nice but I hate sanders (vibration, noise, and dust — the unholy trinity). Then again, my weakness is for hand tools.

So it’s a downed wire to your house. Here in the Big Wicked City, it’s usually a problem at the substations or with transformers.
It’s mostly tree limbs (in which case we’ll get the power back in about a couple of hours) and some times trees (in which case it will take longer).
But seeing the pictures from your walks, it looks like it’s worth the occasional problem.
since after 27 years I’m still here putting up with it.
What’s a little non-electrical days. Just makes you appreciate the power flowing that much more.
Yeah and when we lose the water (which also happens way too often), I realize how much worse that is than losing the electricity.
I completely agree about the water. I can do without a computer, microwave or TV, but a toilet is not something to be without.

Hi Teach. I’m just doing that now. Usually about this time I’m just winding down and in an hour I would be ready for bed. Right now, I feel like I’m getting my second wind and won’t slow down for awhile.
How did you enjoy your half day today?
The Half-day was yesterday, and I’m afraid I didn’t slack off nearly enough. I got home around 12:30 pm and cruised the blogs while eating lunch. This whole Dump Dean thing has me so pissed, that I posted several comments several places and had multiple arguments going at once. I finally quit in disgust about 3:30 and took a nap.
Now I remember you saying something about an argument with someone over at the orange place. But even with disgust, you can’t go wrong with a nap. 🙂
Growing up on a well … when the electricity would go that meant no water … and that is not good for a teenage girl! lol

I grew up with well water also. It’s funny how after drinking well water all that time and then moving to the city with treated water what a water snob I became. There’s is really a different taste between the two.

when I first moved to city water it smelled like chlorine … really awful … but I don’t even notice it anymore.
I’m doing okay … watching Grey’s Anatomy.
Good to hear that FMom got her dentures figured out.
Even with the well water around here there’s a difference. I had some friends that lived about 20 miles away and their well water was so heavy with sulfur that I could hardly drink it. At our house it was pretty much devoid of all of that and the taste was so much better to me.
I’m sure with the dentures we’ll be going back a few time, but I’m just glad she got her new ones.
I’ve been meaning to ask. How are you doing on the ranking for blogs? I looked, but I can’t understand how they have it set up.
Our public school had that water and the fountains would stink!
You know what, I have no idea about the blog vote thing. They don’t have the names posted, so I guess it’s all secret. I think only the top 5 make it to the Round 2. We’ll find out on the 23rd.

Well I’m voting every day they will give me, and I wish I could stuff the ballot box. I think I read something over at catnip’s b about the voting and she knows in which place she is. As far as the number thing goes, it doesn’t make sense to me at all.

Yeah, I read it after I posted it and it doesn’t quite come of. Peter Cook is one of my comedy heroes. His delivery and his physical presence were crucial to his humor.

I tried to find it on YouTube. I used to have on a record. You know those wax kind with grooves? Probably vinyl, on second thought. God only knows where I shed that bit of skin.

The trip to the dentist went fine. She got a new pair of dentures. She told the dentist they felt fine and half way home she started saying they didn’t feel fine. So I turned around to go back and get adjustments. It’s 50 miles one way to the dentist, so I’ve been on the road and in the doctor’s office most of the day.
I’m home now and I’m not getting out of this chair for anything.
