I don’t think Luna was quite who Darwin had in mind.
I did two days of plumbing back to back this week, and got the copper is completely done, which allowed the bathroom walls to finally be skinned. The shower base went in and the laundry tub only needs the waste pipe and flex hoses attached after the wall behind it has been re-rendered over the pipes (I told them not to cover the pipes until I could pressure check all the joints, but no one listens to me). I’ll probably go down again and finish framing the kitchen sink, so that I can do the final connections for it and the other fixtures.
They hope to move into the house in a month or so, and should be able to even if there are still some things that need finishing up.
Hi Teach. I’m just doing that now. Usually about this time I’m just winding down and in an hour I would be ready for bed. Right now, I feel like I’m getting my second wind and won’t slow down for awhile.
The Half-day was yesterday, and I’m afraid I didn’t slack off nearly enough. I got home around 12:30 pm and cruised the blogs while eating lunch. This whole Dump Dean thing has me so pissed, that I posted several comments several places and had multiple arguments going at once. I finally quit in disgust about 3:30 and took a nap.
Now I remember you saying something about an argument with someone over at the orange place. But even with disgust, you can’t go wrong with a nap. 🙂
I grew up with well water also. It’s funny how after drinking well water all that time and then moving to the city with treated water what a water snob I became. There’s is really a different taste between the two.
Even with the well water around here there’s a difference. I had some friends that lived about 20 miles away and their well water was so heavy with sulfur that I could hardly drink it. At our house it was pretty much devoid of all of that and the taste was so much better to me.
I’m sure with the dentures we’ll be going back a few time, but I’m just glad she got her new ones.
I’ve been meaning to ask. How are you doing on the ranking for blogs? I looked, but I can’t understand how they have it set up.
Our public school had that water and the fountains would stink!
You know what, I have no idea about the blog vote thing. They don’t have the names posted, so I guess it’s all secret. I think only the top 5 make it to the Round 2. We’ll find out on the 23rd.
I do think it’s weird that we have to vote every day though … very odd. 🙂
Well I’m voting every day they will give me, and I wish I could stuff the ballot box. I think I read something over at catnip’s b about the voting and she knows in which place she is. As far as the number thing goes, it doesn’t make sense to me at all.
I just went and looked, but I can’t find it at the moment. I know it’s there and I’m probably passing it over, but once I find it again, I’ll let you know.
… at the blog vote site: Note: As this is a hidden vote, the order listed on the results page does not correspond to the order listed on the voting page. Good luck to all nominees.
Doesn’t make sense to me at all. I going to try and figure out how to go world wide for you. Sort of like the low-key worldwide B’day party we threw for you. 🙂
Ever heard the Peter Cook and Dudley Moore routine about the French restaurant, The Frog and Peach.
Dudley Moore: Who does the cooking?
Peter Cook: My wife does the cooking and, luckily, she does the eating as well. An amazing creature. Of course, she’s not a well woman.
Dudley Moore: No.
Peter Cook: Not a well woman at all, so she very much resents having to go down the well every morning to sprinkle “Swoop” on the toads. An amazing creature, my wife, an amazing creature.
You really have to hear Peter Cook’s delivery to get the whole effect.
Yeah, I read it after I posted it and it doesn’t quite come of. Peter Cook is one of my comedy heroes. His delivery and his physical presence were crucial to his humor.
I tried to find it on YouTube. I used to have on a record. You know those wax kind with grooves? Probably vinyl, on second thought. God only knows where I shed that bit of skin.
I agree about that. I’ve got plenty of albums I’d like to make into mp3 format. Did it once a while back, but ended up erasing everying. The ION TT makes it look like it would make it a lot easier.
The trip to the dentist went fine. She got a new pair of dentures. She told the dentist they felt fine and half way home she started saying they didn’t feel fine. So I turned around to go back and get adjustments. It’s 50 miles one way to the dentist, so I’ve been on the road and in the doctor’s office most of the day.
I’m home now and I’m not getting out of this chair for anything.
Temporary lounge until Family Man and George wake the hell up.
to be the permanent Thursday 11/16 lounge.
FM had to take FMom to the doctor and must be running late.
Hello happy Froggies!
The dog blog is up (and may be unsuitable for vegetarians).
Hey, wait, I’m vegetarian.
red in tooth and claw, dontcha know.
How’s the plumbing coming along?
I don’t think Luna was quite who Darwin had in mind.

It’s been an education.
Sooooo, have you picked out the welding equipment you have so obviously earned. 😉
But I have picked out a bench-top combination belt and disc sander that I’ll probably get with my pooled birthday cash.
I’d say that sounds nice but I hate sanders (vibration, noise, and dust — the unholy trinity). Then again, my weakness is for hand tools.
Yeah, Andy, you came to the rescue! I hope things are ok with FM & FMom. How’s the power?
I saw your comment and was going to open the lounge when I saw there was already one.
I got the power, man.
I posted one at the same time the mystery frog did and had to delete it.
Who’s the lurker?
I’m going for Manny in the center.
’twas not I!
It tweren’t. So we have a mystery froggybottom I see. 🙂
On a serious note, it says a lot about this community that so many people step up and help out when something needs doing.
I was mostly worried what would happen to Omir without his Elephant Tranquilizer.
Hey, thanks for handling the stuff you do. Glad to hear about the power. Are power outages much of a problem?
when you live in a place with a lotta trees.
So it’s a downed wire to your house. Here in the Big Wicked City, it’s usually a problem at the substations or with transformers.
It’s mostly tree limbs (in which case we’ll get the power back in about a couple of hours) and some times trees (in which case it will take longer).
But seeing the pictures from your walks, it looks like it’s worth the occasional problem.
since after 27 years I’m still here putting up with it.
What’s a little non-electrical days. Just makes you appreciate the power flowing that much more.
Yeah and when we lose the water (which also happens way too often), I realize how much worse that is than losing the electricity.
I completely agree about the water. I can do without a computer, microwave or TV, but a toilet is not something to be without.
Had time to catch your breath, FM?
Hi Teach. I’m just doing that now. Usually about this time I’m just winding down and in an hour I would be ready for bed. Right now, I feel like I’m getting my second wind and won’t slow down for awhile.
How did you enjoy your half day today?

Growing up on a well … when the electricity would go that meant no water … and that is not good for a teenage girl! lol
Hi Olivia.
I grew up with well water also. It’s funny how after drinking well water all that time and then moving to the city with treated water what a water snob I became. There’s is really a different taste between the two.
How’re you doing tonight?
when I first moved to city water it smelled like chlorine … really awful … but I don’t even notice it anymore.
I’m doing okay … watching Grey’s Anatomy.
Good to hear that FMom got her dentures figured out.
Even with the well water around here there’s a difference. I had some friends that lived about 20 miles away and their well water was so heavy with sulfur that I could hardly drink it. At our house it was pretty much devoid of all of that and the taste was so much better to me.

can you remember which post was that in?
I just went and looked, but I can’t find it at the moment. I know it’s there and I’m probably passing it over, but once I find it again, I’ll let you know.

Just know that what goes around comes around … 😛
To late. My B’day was last month. 😛
Besides, I’ll just pick an honourary Cdn birthday for you. 😛
Just as long as there’s plenty of beer and hockey during this honourary Cdn B’day. 🙂
I’m going to open up a 24/7 just in case I start to nod off.
Back in a minute.
Ever heard the Peter Cook and Dudley Moore routine about the French restaurant, The Frog and Peach.

One of those you have to be there kind of thing? 🙂
Yeah, I read it after I posted it and it doesn’t quite come of. Peter Cook is one of my comedy heroes. His delivery and his physical presence were crucial to his humor.
I was just googling to see if I could find a clip online, but the only I found has an error connecting to the audio clip.
I tried to find it on YouTube. I used to have on a record. You know those wax kind with grooves? Probably vinyl, on second thought. God only knows where I shed that bit of skin.
I had records … albums … 🙂
I’ve still got them, but nothing to play them on. I hate outdated technology. 🙂
and a record player at my parents house … stored away somewhere and I’m sure I’ll never use it again.
these…ION TT…price has come down condierably…:{)
Hi dada.
I agree about that. I’ve got plenty of albums I’d like to make into mp3 format. Did it once a while back, but ended up erasing everying. The ION TT makes it look like it would make it a lot easier.
friend of mine has one…it’s too easy…the slacker’s solution…
back to cooking…dinner on the way
I love any technology that makes it easy to slack.
Enjoy your dinner.
Sadly, I cannot find “The Frog & Peach.”
This clip gives a sense of his deadpan delivery, inspired nonsense, and wonderful wordplay.
Someone on youtube wrote genius. I tend to agree.
Funny stuff!
So you were a dirty bird once-upon-a-time, eh?
I would stay home from school … 🙂
How ya doing otherwise?
sleepy. Making sentences is getting to be too hard.
Making sentences is hard for me regardless of what state of consciousness I’m in.
right?
is probably going to be a bit earlier tonight, given my extremely rude (and early) awakening.
I love it. Geezerdom as a high art form. 🙂
to bow out on. I’m not ready to go to bed but I’m tired of reading.
Night.
Thanks to you, CG and Manny for keeping an eye out for me today.
Sleep tight.
and you can sleep in ’til 6am! 😛
A hogshead of Old Elephant Tranquilizer, a spigot, a bench to put the barrel on and a cot to fit under the bench.
I admire a man with a well thought out system.
Omir I like your way better than mine of 27 at a time.
You order 27 of something you never know what you’re getting. It could be 27 shot glasses. A hogshead, though, you know what you’re getting.
A three-day coma and intensive therapy afterward, if you do it right.
I think my 27 and your hogshead are aiming at the same thing. Ah the ends we’ll go to just for a three-day coma. 🙂
Just walked into the house. Sorry I’m late and I agree with Andi about the permanent 11/16 lounge.
Now I’m gone for a minute because I’m going to run downtown and pick up something to eat instead of cooking. Should take no more than 30 minute.
Thanks again for opening the lounge.
So how did the trip to the doctor go?
Take your time, we weren’t nagging. How’s FMom?
The trip to the dentist went fine. She got a new pair of dentures. She told the dentist they felt fine and half way home she started saying they didn’t feel fine. How is everybody else doing tonight?
Hellooooooo MM.
How’re you doing tonight?
Good FM. Not too much slacking going on, but there is always hope! Still on the keystroke reduction program. (KRP)
Loving the froggie pix … 🙂
Glad to hear it’s going generally good, but not so glad about the CTP and KRP.
I think you ribbits express your general feelings. 🙂
Froggy Bottom 24/7 Cafe here
