The happiest of happy birthdays to the Chair of the DNC. Thank you for all of your hard work and persistence in implementing the 50-state, strategy, and for always remembering to thank the rest of us for all we do.
And thank you for setting an example of graciousness and maintaining an “eyes on the prize” mentality, in refusing to be sidetracked by the “inside the beltway silliness” of folks like James Carville.
Have some cake. ๐
Update: If you’d like to celebrate Howard Dean’s birthday with a donation to the DNC in his honor, you can do so here.
Hope he likes virtual German chocolate. ๐

is a 12-month bout of laryngitis for James Carville…
I’m feeling rather pacific at the moment. So I will wish enlightment rather than laryngitis to Carville.
I reserve the right to revise my wish later. : )
Carville is clueless.
I never gave money to a politician before Howard Dean.
I gave relatively little to the DNC this election cycle because I didn’t want the money going to the likes of Rahm, Joementum, Bean, etc.
I did give money to a number of individual candidates whom I considered to be progressive. Some won. Some did not. But I would NEVER have given money to any of them if Dean hadn’t taught me how important citizen driven politics is. I suspect I am not the only one so inspired. Dean’s fund raising ability reached far beyond what the DNC received.
Of course, the media talking heads could never figure this out. Carville, on the other hand, is probably well aware of it. His attacks on Dean are also attacks on the grassroots. Our power lessens his. He will not put up with that.
Happy Birthday, Howard! Thanks for the hope and empowerment you have brought to so many of us.
Happy Birthday Howard.
When those short-sighted folks who think we need to
spend all of our resources on one election cycle without any regard for the future well-being of the party and the country realize the rewards of the long-term investments made by Howard Dean, perhaps they will cool their jets. (Probably not. This whole argument just seems like a way for people who already don’t like Howard Dean for them to criticize him.)
The notion that some folks want to dump Howard Dean after he successfully laid the foundation for future
party growth even while successfully juggling short-term opportunities is ludicrous.
Under Howard Dean’s leadership, the Democratic Party won the House and Senate and began focusing on the long-term. He most certainly did not underperform.
So – the big daddy megabucks DC types are a little upset since they’ve obviously been upstaged. Tough! Maybe they should consider some retirement options.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HOWARD DEAN! You’re a winner!
Happy Birthday, Howard Dean and all the best.
Thanks for a Nov 7 to be proud of!!!
