Not quite finals week, but I’d much rather that it would be, as I only have 1 exam during that period. I am incredibly stressed out and pulling odd hours, as you can tell…
I might have nightmares too if I had to take exams in another “alphabet” (that isn’t the right term but it’s too early to try to figure out what I should use).
Not so much an actual nightmare as it was about an hour of not being able to tell if I was asleep or awake, all the while with power metal playing in the background making things even more unclear to my sleep-deprived mind.
All weekends go by fast unless you are a dog or retired, in which case everyday is Saturday. My husband keeps insisting we’ll never be able to retire so I’m thinking about looking into species re-assignment.
Morning, group. For what it’s worth it’s 22 degrees here.
I’ve finished maryb’s backstory. If anyone is curious, follow the link in my signature place.
I’ll pass the word along. Mostly I’m a little scattered from flying in and out of DC in a a 36 hours. I’m also getting more involved in writing a longer piece and I’d like time to work on it.
Got to throw a lunch together and hit the road. Enjoy the day, peoples.
Had a free moment and thought I’d stop in and say hi. Still buried, so I probably won’t respond to any hellos right away, but I’ll stop back periodically. It’s 18 degrees here at the moment. Today’s tea was an Earl Grayer, though we got a nice sample pack from Tea Source for Dr.Mc’s birthday, so I’ll have a chance to try some of the new and exotic soon. I’m really looking forward to Precious Eyebrows, it’s supposed to be lovely. Woke up early this morning after having a round of the actor’s nightmare. Weird. I haven’t been on stage in fifteen years and I haven’t had that particular dream in at least ten. Maybe it means I need to really bust my butt on the current novel for a bit. I don’t get the writer’s version with a blank page, perhaps because I see a blank page as a good thing, an opportunity to fill it with stories. Anywho, as soon as I pry the cat off my lap and finish with the morning news skim, I have to dig in. Also have to go make Seattle hotel reservations for the January trip. Got the plane tix, but then spaced hotel. Sigh.
Unfortunately, it looks like it’ll be a couple of hours before I’m fully in gear. Just discovered we have a kitty with a bladder infection (probably) and I have to run her off to the vet in twenty minutes. She’s a dear and I don’t grudge her my time, but sighing nonetheless. At least I got all my major deadline writing done last month.
I don’t think we’ve been introduced–I’ve been mostly lurking of late because of books on deadline–some mine, some my editor’s. Welcome (I’m guessing much belated) to the pond and the cafe. I love the Earl Grayer too, but my true favorite for loose leaf is the Empire Kemun. Hope you get back off the hard stuff soon. Coffee…shudders. Ocassionally my caffiene jones misses it, but my stomach doesn’t. Not even a little bit.
I couldn’t find a place to take the shot where my shadow wasn’t in it. So I tried to stand so I didn’t look like a person — looks like I succeeded. 🙂
is very dark — it’s an old one — and it’s hard to see things (that’s my excuse). Maybe it’s clearer for others … 🙂 At first I thought maybe your reflection could be seen in the water, so I was peering an inch away from the screen lol.
The results for the Cdn Blog Awards came out yesterday, and p o came in 5/5 … I want to thank everyone here for voting, but most of all for supporting and encouraging me. Thank you guys!
Looks like a simple bladder infection, and kitty’s in love with the pill pockets kitty treats so even the antibiotics shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
Cool bonus–I got to watch them give her an ultrasound. I love that stuff. Dr.Mc’s MD has suggest that I would have made a good doctor since the messy stuff interests rather than disturbs me.
Hope you’re having a slacktackular day. I’m just about to plunge out into the cold for my second set of errands–Seattle hotel and lunch with Dr.Mc, which means I’ll get my exercise in the frozen outdoors instead of on the treadmill. Yay, I think.
Hitting the road in a couple of hours, but wanted to stop by and say howdy. Also taking care of some last minute tasks — mainly need to type up instructions on how to fix the Internets if the spouse has trouble while I’m gone (reset modem, reset Airport Base Station, try again). Then again, if he can’t get on the computer he actually might get to bed at a reasonable time while I’m gone…
Today’s “Quote of the Day” from my Google Home Page seems particularly apropos for this group, so I leave it for your pleasure.
Books to the ceiling,
Books to the sky
My pile of books is a mile high.
How I love them! How I need them!
I’ll have a long beard by the time I read them.

Well, some of us may not have long beards, unless we’ve hit menopause already… lol
Will be in touch off and on from Lost Wages…TTFN… 🙂
morning, that looks like my backyard, except for the woods. Basically, we’re just flooded.
The ground here is saturated but at the moment it’s also frozen.
We won’t have any of that for at least another month…probably. If global warming gets any worse we won’t see any freezing. : )
Mornin’ everyone. Just woke up from an hour of a half-awake, half-asleep nightmare…now it’s back to studying this time for a Japanese exam in 5 hours…
Is this your finals week already? Good luck today.
I guess it’s nice that there’s somebody in the cafe that looks forward to Mondays.
Glad to help in any way I can… 🙂
I’ll be doing a happy dance in about a half-hour. Woo-hoo! House to myself! Well, self and dogs.
Not quite finals week, but I’d much rather that it would be, as I only have 1 exam during that period. I am incredibly stressed out and pulling odd hours, as you can tell…
Just think though, another week or two, and you get a month break, right?
Sort of…I’ll be writing a bunch of cover letters during break and studying for the upcoming interviews…yes, we study for them. Quite pitiful, eh? 🙂
I might have nightmares too if I had to take exams in another “alphabet” (that isn’t the right term but it’s too early to try to figure out what I should use).

検査のよい運 (Translation Good Luck on the Exam!!!!)
to be multilingual this early in the morning. 🙂
Good morning all. Back to work. The weekend flew by.
All weekends go by fast unless you are a dog or retired, in which case everyday is Saturday. My husband keeps insisting we’ll never be able to retire so I’m thinking about looking into species re-assignment.
Like I said retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Then again, it is better than work. 🙂
Good morning everyone. I think I’m awake.
Good luck on the exam Psi.
I guess you must have left a little sleep for me after all — I got a good six hours in.
Damn didn’t mean to leave that much. It’s cold down here. We’re in the 20’s, but no snow.
Cheer up — it’s 11 here.
Damn, I’m happy at 39 degrees.
I’ll never understand temps. It’s 39 up there and 29 down here.
we’re not going to see 39 as a high this week but this is as low at is going to go.
I think we are looking at 60-degree temps by the weekend again. Bizarre.
Global warming? I hope not.
Oh the cold doesn’t bother me. I actually prefer it to the summer. Just as long as I’ve got a warm house, I’m fine.
Mornin’, slacker. How goes it? 🙂
Going fine for a Monday, cold though.
Morning, group. For what it’s worth it’s 22 degrees here.

Morning Teach.
I’ll be reading it shortly. Hope all is well.
KS is still struggling a bit with bronchitis, but other than that, it’s just another week.
Tell KS I hope she feels better. I’m over mine and if I could just get my sinuses working right……
Just another week. Sounds like you need a vacation.

As much as I don’t want to, George wants to go outside.
See ya’ll later.

Hope you have a lovely day.
Earl Grayer is my favorite tea in that line. Although, I am once again back on coffee. sigh. Was doing so well for so long.
Good writing.

Morning Kelly. Afternoon now I guess. I’ve been hopping around for some time, but have settled in more recently.
I had to make three trips back to the house for things the kids and I forgot this morning. Then, I rush in and my meeting has been canceled.
Beautiful photo Andi … as always!
I’m in the picture — didja notice? 🙂
LOL … I just looked again, but I can’t see you.

wearing sunglasses, a hooded robe, and may have gained some weight…interesting…:{)
It’s just that I have bad posture.
Here’s to Monday morning … ugh 🙂
The results for the Cdn Blog Awards came out yesterday, and p o came in 5/5 … I want to thank everyone here for voting, but most of all for supporting and encouraging me. Thank you guys!
Well you’ll have to forgive me Olivia, but the Cdn Blog Awards are wrong, wrong, wrong! At least as far as photo/art blogs are concerned.
I and everybody here knows who is the best. If I didn’t know better, I would think people had been od’ing on poutine up there. 🙂
Congrats on coming in the top five, but IMO p.o. should have been 1st.
Now if you’ll forgive me again, I’m going to go and sulk. :~)
od-ing on poutine … that’s funny.
It’s good to see you about!
the photoblog voting was the tightest spread of all the categories too…you’ll get ’em next time.
Congrats! anyway…you were in good company….w/ the exception of Walk this Way…wtf?????…it’s not even a cdn blog…and lame to boot.
no prejudice here, nope, no way…:{)
Thanks d … your prejud err, I mean support means the world … 🙂
Hi to Olivia, FM, Andi, CG, Robert, Boran, Psi, Teach, and all you lurkers.
Gotta go get a cat repaired now. TTFN.
Hi Kelly, good to see ya. Hope the cat does OK.
Looks like a simple bladder infection, and kitty’s in love with the pill pockets kitty treats so even the antibiotics shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Gotta run.
