Why the US really wants war with Iran:
BBC NEWS | Business | Dollar dropped in Iran asset move:
“Iran is to shift its foreign currency reserves from dollar to euro and use the euro for oil deals in response to US-led pressure on its economy. In a widely expected move, Tehran said it would use the euro for all future commercial transactions overseas.”
The last country that tried to switch to selling their oil in Euros? Iraq… Not long before they were illegally invaded under the bogus threat of impending mushroom clouds.
Cue the drumbeat of war…
Sound familiar? Yes. We all saw this coming.

Merry, Merry and all that shit that doesn’t blow up and die.

When the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (AIOC) finally offered fifty-fifty profit-sharing in February 1951, sentiment for nationalization of the oil industry had become widespread. Razmara advised against nationalization on technical grounds and was assassinated in March 1951 by Khalil Tahmasebi, a member of the militant Fadayan-e Islam. In April the shah yielded to Majlis pressure and demonstrations in the streets by naming Mosaddeq prime minister.
Oil production came to a virtual standstill as British technicians left the country, and Britain imposed a worldwide embargo on the purchase of Iranian oil. In September 1951, Britain froze Iran’s sterling assets and banned export of goods to Iran. It challenged the legality of the oil nationalization and took its case against Iran to the International Court of Justice at The Hague. The court found in Iran’s favour, but the dispute between Iran and the AIOC remained unsettled.
In June 1953, the Eisenhower administration approved a British proposal for a joint Anglo-American operation, code-named Operation Ajax, to overthrow Mosaddeq. Kermit Roosevelt of the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) traveled secretly to Iran to coordinate plans with the shah and the Iranian military, which was led by General Fazlollah Zahedi.
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
It becomes increasingly clear that the people in charge haven’t a clue and are incapable of governance, diplomacy, or even a basic understanding of, and an appreciation for, the complexities of the world in which they are expected to function.
Good to see you back and posting again Oui…Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I know that Jerome a Paris has said that the switch by Iran is irrelevant because the rest of the world will still figure out Euro payments against the value of the US petro dollar. BUT what happens IF and when all of OPEC goes Euro? Add that to Venezuala, etc., eventually Europe and the USA must lose some control over the US based petro dollar, YES? NO? This has got to be an unstable situation.
I’m not sure of the practical aspects of how Iran changing to the Euro will pan out but I know one thing we dont like our inferiors in the world giving us the finger and Iran has done that by snubbing that God the dollar. No doubt they will have to be taught a severe lesson and one that others will take note of. After all just look what happened to saddam after he gave the Bush’s the finger by having that picture of Daddy’s face put on the floor outside some hotel for all and sundry to walk over.
