And bacon would go so well with my cappuccino this morning….How are you today, recent birthday girl? Was Santa good to everyone at your place? (My laptop power cord died, so I haven’t been keeping up with everything in the cafe lately – but UPS is supposed to bring the new one today!)
That’s what I thought, too. But I was so blitzed reading my e-mail last night I wasn’t certain. We’ve totally lost track of what day it is. Excepting, of course, your birthday, SN.
Yes, well, he got that on Hardball, too, pretty much. And I’m sure he stuck another knife in that dead horse just as he already has. My God – running with Hillary!
Tony Blair is vacationing at the Bee Gee mansion in Miami Beach. IS that news? Universal Studios has eliminated trans fats from the theme park food offerings…the Dow closed over 12,500, and some woman who wrote about her DC sexcapades on her blog is heading to court to defend herself for kissing and telling.
Trying to get rid of me, eh? You’re going to succeed since I am going pretty soon and then I’m going to meet some old friends for lunch in the nearby biggish city (it’s only 60K but it has a big university with 30K students so has many, many great place to eat).
I’m just jealous of your vacation till the 8th. The boys go back on the 2nd, so that’s when my life begins again (although I have a little work to do between now and then).
Have a great lunch with your friends. I need to start getting dressed for my morning walk with the fur children (plus Cabin the Elder for the first mile).
Found turkey sausage patties at the store last week, and picked them up to try with my breakfast sandwich (whole wheat English muffin, egg substitute, and a slice of low-fat cheese — adding the patty for extra protein).
Got to get moving here — we’ve both been spudding on the computer a bit much today. Did get my new Toastation (combination toaster/toaster oven) set up — got that with part of my Christmas money, which enabled me to donate two appliances (our old toaster oven took up way too much space anyway).
Hanging local tonight — got Cal playing in their bowl game at 5pm, and then the Sharks at 7 or so, so it’s TV night in the household… 🙂
It’s always so nice to sleep in your own bed, isn’t it?
Speaking of John Edwards (we were, weren’t we?) I was just looking at his website and this was one of Elizabeth’s favorite links. That’s why I love her.
Yes. I finally read it in the waiting room while my daughter was having her surgery. It’s horrible and beautiful at the same time – very difficult to read as a mother. But ultimately it’s hopeful.
While I was flipping through before I wrapped it, I read the part about taking the younger kids on the campaign bus with them, and really admired her (and John) for doing that so they wouldn’t have to be separated for long periods of time.
Yes (to sleeping in one’s own bed). Especially when parent thinks her old bed is “just wonderful”. I literally fell out of the bed every single night, and ended up roaming the house in the middle of the night until T rolled back over. It’ll be a good story – some day, after my hip bruises are well-healed.
I want her as First Lady just from seeing the ABC Cookie Cutters (already been chewed).
I got a USB Massager (it’s a disk-shaped vibrator that plugs into the USB port) as a gag prize in the Headline Contest on my hockey forum…looked to see if they had it there, but of course the site’s for entertaining the inner child, not the inner pervert… lol
Oops, the livestock are restless. They are in full punishment phase at being left behind for 5 days. I gotta run and see what they have knocked off the counter in the kitchen.
Hi Knucklehead, I was just browsing and noticed this comment, we are having no winds at this moment, yesterday was pretty bad, but not by far the biggest we have had lately.
Did you get much rain yesterday….it rained pretty hard here for a couple of hours but we ususally don’t get as much as you do up there.
Thanks for thinking of me!!!! 🙂
Hey Diane, We had only a little rain yesterday, but right now the wind is howling. The reports say “hurricane strength” winds.
I just went out side & noticed a neighbors rider mower was out in the middle of the field. The wind had pushed it away from their house & down into the field. A lot of big surf also. A few days ago, a man jumped into the surf to rescue a child that had been swept away. Thankfully he saved her, but he then got washed away & drowned.
Where’s the beef? ;o)
this is a sausage-free zone
Not even bacon?
And bacon would go so well with my cappuccino this morning….How are you today, recent birthday girl? Was Santa good to everyone at your place? (My laptop power cord died, so I haven’t been keeping up with everything in the cafe lately – but UPS is supposed to bring the new one today!)
so a little froggie told you that you needed to show up in cafe last night to make sure who you were kissing? 😉
I’m using my big computer this morning, just like last night. And still pining for my laptop. :::sniff:::
Aren’t those dogs bothering you for a walk yet? 😉
And does anyone think there’s enough news to warrant a news bucket today?
Well, besides “all Ford, all the time”, John Edwards is supposed to be announcing his candidacy today. Or is it tomorrow?
It’s sometime this morning.
That’s what I thought, too. But I was so blitzed reading my e-mail last night I wasn’t certain. We’ve totally lost track of what day it is. Excepting, of course, your birthday, SN.
And Matt Lauer already asked him if he would accept the vice-presidential slot on the Hillary ticket this morning. What a jerk.
Yes, well, he got that on Hardball, too, pretty much. And I’m sure he stuck another knife in that dead horse just as he already has. My God – running with Hillary!
I’m just waiting for one of them to ask Hillary a similar question.
As if anyone would dare.
Hey, I’d be totally cheering them on! Show some cojones, reporters!
But you’re right. They’ve been told that Hillary is the nominee, and not to let on that anything else is even remotely possible. And they obey.

So you’re going to have Doritos and an energy drink? Maybe some ramen noodles?
like all that pastrami we gobbled down.
Here’s the menu (pdf) where we’re going.
MMM. Creme brulee french toast.
You can pick up calories just reading that aloud. 🙂
Ah, the lure of the University town…

but I wouldn’t go out of my way to have it either. Blame my kosher childhood.

Morning, Andi, Cabingirl, SecondNature. Fully recovered from the holidays?
Hey ks, are you back home?
We are, at last, as of late last night.
It’s always so nice to sleep in your own bed, isn’t it?
Speaking of John Edwards (we were, weren’t we?) I was just looking at his website and this was one of Elizabeth’s favorite links. That’s why I love her.
That’s hysterical. I really like that knife set…is that wrong?
I got my mom her book for Christmas, and I can’t wait to borrow it. Did you read the losing Wade section yet?
Yes. I finally read it in the waiting room while my daughter was having her surgery. It’s horrible and beautiful at the same time – very difficult to read as a mother. But ultimately it’s hopeful.

and goodbye. Remember, if the destruction is amusing, we want a picture. 🙂
Major winds here in Malibu. Hope Diane is OK
