Hanging around the house in pajamas is always a tough option to pass up. I just got back from an unplanned trip to replace the keyboard I broke this morning. I hope the Sens win to kick your year off the right way.
I think so. She was only going to stay until Tuesday but stayed until Wednesday. Unfortunately I had to go to work, plus I came down with a bad cold on Tuesday, so I wasn’t as much fun as I could have been. But the rest of the family was. And I saw her again in Wisconsin this weekend for my sister’s birthday bash. So I think everyone had a pretty good week.
Doing fine. I agree with Andi down below. You’re a wonder waltzing through hosting and family with a bad cold. I just usually tell everbody to leave me alone.
I always seem to get a cold at Christmas. I think it’s because I’m not usually around little kids during the year(human petrie dishes that they are) and then Christmas hits and …. I’m around LOTS of them. The week after Christmas is often one of our busiest weeks at work so I don’t have much choice about the work part. And both of my sisters have birthdays the week after christmas and LOVE to complain how much they hate that because no one ever wants to celebrate. So I would have to be on my death bed to not go to the celebrations.
Besides, my youngest sister turned 40 and sprung for us all to go to a spa. So as long as she was paying … I was willing to go no matter how bad I felt.
Good theory, but no one I know has real trees. Although the dust on the artificial ones could have something to do with it? But … they usually put them up weeks before Christmas.
No — I like to blame the cute little rug rats. Plus, since the end of the year is so busy at work, people come in no matter how sick they are. And there’s been a cold going around the office.
I am compelled to stop all people from doing housework for the ultimate good of the universe — think of all the chemicals that won’t be polluting us if we just stop doing all this foolish cleaning (this never worked with my mother but I’m counting on a slacker understanding my point completely).
yes. LOL Well I did work on designs. LOL You should know by now I am not one to do nothing. I spent some time chatting in the pond and then worked on designs.
aww…now…lower than Luefisk Chitlins?…perhaps not too far above them for most folks, but definitely not below…:{P…actually it’s very good…ya just don’t want to know how its made…:{)
Hey there, Teach! Happy, Happy Birthday!
Hope you’ve enjoyed your celebrations & you’re looking forward to your New Year.
A very happy New Year, as well, to any fellow froggie-ponders I missed last night. Here’s to all the blessings of renewal, new wisdom & change for 2007!
Clink!
Hope you’re all enjoying an excellent day. I’m only here briefly, alas — hope to be back later.
Sounds like you had a very nicely mellow night last night. Good for you! May the New Year take you to new heights of magical slacking (& perhaps offer you a bit of snowfall, too)!
Thank you, refinish!
Compliments on your latest designs, btw. The ‘affordability’ design is terrific! One of my favorites.
I do hope to access your podcasts very soon & treat myself to your salty language.
😉
Thank you very much for a wonderful New Year’s wish, Andi! Can’t imagine a better scenario for the coming year.
I wish you, Jim & the Pack a terrific year — full of new & delicious vistas, astounding treks, a gently wintry winter, much delicious food & minimal employment hassles.
Thank you so much, Olivia! You’ll be traveling with me there, for sure (as well as the entire pond!) — because I bring your continual good wishes & astounding observance of natural beauty with me.
Somebody closed the cafe on me as I was posting … 🙂
(apologies on closing up on you)
That’s okay about the cafe. It was getting big … and now I’m regretting posting that popping champagne bottle — it’s giving me motion sickness. LOL
Because you had too much champagne last night maybe?
Did you have a good night?
If you throw up remember to turn your head away from the computer. 🙂
I will remember … LOL
How’s George this morning … and has FMom gotten over her upset w/ your brother?
We’re all fine. She did mentioned it again a little while ago, but she’s not mad anymore.
How was your night last night?
And it was FM approved … I did absolutely nothing.
After the guests left, I luxuriated in the stillness … 🙂
I knew you had slacking potential. 🙂
obviously paid off … and it wasn’t even any work. Sort of like osmosis only thru the ether … like etherosis. 🙂
Hah! The plan keeps working. 🙂
I’m feeling guilty shirking my cafe duties – but I was going to post one before too long. :/
You can take over tonight. Anyway, I forgot about this being Monday.
Me too. I’ve thought every day for the past 2 weeks was Sunday.
I’ve been feeling that way for the last couple of years.
I love it when I lose track of the days — it means that I’m fully on vacation. Unfortunately, it doesn’t happen very often and it never lasts.
Thanks and Happy New Year, Olivia! I hope you are enjoying the Sens game right now.
I’m not leaving the house for anything today … it’s a day to bum around in PJs and drink hot chocolate w/ Baileys. 🙂
Hope you’re having a good day!
Hanging around the house in pajamas is always a tough option to pass up. I just got back from an unplanned trip to replace the keyboard I broke this morning. I hope the Sens win to kick your year off the right way.
now you won’t have to type your (y-1) …
How are you enjoying your iPod?
That sounds good, if you substitute coffee for the hot chocolate.
we’re on to lunch now.
I’m still in PJ’s too. But I didn’t think about the hot chocolate and baileys …
I have to get dressed soon though to go to a New Year Day’s dinner.
There are times when being a pajama-blogger is a good thing … 😉
But you know we loves ya anyway. LOL
Hope your work day goes quickly and isn’t too hectic refinish! 🙂
Happy Birthday Teach! Happy New Year everyone else.
Happy New Years to you Mary.
Hi FM, Happy New Year’s to you and FMom and George.
I hope you had an excellent Christmas, a fine new year’s eve and a great new year’s day.
I did. Did you go to Dayton yet?
No, we’re planning on going on Wednesday.
Did you cousin enjoy her substitue Christmas in St. Louis?
Are you over your cold yet?
no, I still have some sniffles. Being on airplanes probably didn’t help. But at least my ears didn’t get clogged up 🙂
How are you?
If somebody was paying I might even go to a spa. 🙂
Have you ever considered that annual christmas colds may be an allergy to Christmas Trees or the mold and other organisms on them?
Good theory, but no one I know has real trees. Although the dust on the artificial ones could have something to do with it? But … they usually put them up weeks before Christmas.
No — I like to blame the cute little rug rats. Plus, since the end of the year is so busy at work, people come in no matter how sick they are. And there’s been a cold going around the office.
Wow, a bad cold and you still waltz through guests, work, and wall-to-wall celebrations — you are wonderwoman incarnate.
I am not worthy. I’ll just get back to scrubbing the toilets. Sigh.
Hi Cinderella. When you finish with the toilets there are always the bathtubs 🙂
Bathtubs? People clean bathtubs? I thought that taking a shower with soap was considered cleaning the tub.
sorry, just put the ugly thought of bathtub cleaning out of your pretty little mind.
on how to weclome in the new year are a bit warped and, for once, not in a good way.
Besides, it will be a character-building experience for Ben to scrub the toilets.
Don’t talk her out of it. Hopefully she loves it so much, she’ll come over and clean my toilets. 🙂
I am compelled to stop all people from doing housework for the ultimate good of the universe — think of all the chemicals that won’t be polluting us if we just stop doing all this foolish cleaning (this never worked with my mother but I’m counting on a slacker understanding my point completely).
I think I would have described it as a slow plod.
Or was that sarcasm?
it wasn’t even, shockingly enough, insincere.
New Year’s resolution?
I am completely insincere about those.
to get to see Indy when you go see Rembrandt?
probably not but I won’t know for sure until I’m there.
You could always gently kidnap her. 🙂
Just kidding, Indy.
is going to come much sooner than I thought.
Rembrandt’s good, but Indy is better.
I’m bringing my mom along — maybe a quintessential Jewish mother will be just what Indy needs (or not).
LOL I bet Mom will love it. LOL
I KNEW you liked Indy more than me. I’ve ALWAYS wanted to meet your mother!
It’s that my mom likes rembrandt way better than effingham.
Hey, mary. Happy New Year and thankns for the birthday greeting. Any exciting plans for 2007?
I thought I’d take a remedial algebra class 😉
I can’t imagine that.
Oh, let your imagination run wild … nah. You’re right. 🙂
Happy New Year’s MaryB!!!!!! I have missed ya and hope you had a great holiday season!!!
Hi Refinish — Happy New Year! I hope you didn’t work through both holidays?
I worked chrisma day for 8 hours and will be working today for 4. Yesterday I worked on my podcast and design sites. LOL
Were you at least off last night?
yes. LOL Well I did work on designs. LOL You should know by now I am not one to do nothing. I spent some time chatting in the pond and then worked on designs.
Even better the second time…Enjoy!
Great cake, dada. Thanks much. Oh, I loved the Bluesmobile. Happy New Year!
Saw your menudo suggestion in the cafe last night, and I think it ranks slightly lower than Lutefisk Chitlins! LOL … and you scoff at Poutine … 😛
aww…now…lower than Luefisk Chitlins?…perhaps not too far above them for most folks, but definitely not below…:{P…actually it’s very good…ya just don’t want to know how its made…:{)
I can’t imagine anything worse than LC … And I’ll take your advice — no sherloliviagoogling on how it’s made … 🙂
I have a feeling that NDD and my discovery of a new taste sensation is being talked down. 🙂
have you ever tasted this new taste sensation?
LOL
Well no, but its got to get started somewhere, so why not Cdn? 😉
I’m not a guinea pig. 🙂
No sense of adventure I see. Oh well, maybe out in California.
Happy New Year’s everyone!!!!! Just woke from a great nap and have some time to relax before heading in to work later this afternoon. LOL
“Jappy?” Have you been frinking again?
LOL No that is called typing without my glasses, but it is just as bad with them most of the time.
I frink he has.
LOL No I will wait and have a drink tonight when I get home from work.
…and wish the diva dogs a Yappy new year!
Thanks!!!!
Thank you Miss Olivia!!! I tried some canadian cheddar from the gourmet section and it was great!!!!
and then it’s poutine! 🙂
Hey there, Teach! Happy, Happy Birthday!

And the same wishes for you Wildeness wench!!!
What Refinish said. 🙂
Thanks very much, FM!
Sounds like you had a very nicely mellow night last night. Good for you! May the New Year take you to new heights of magical slacking (& perhaps offer you a bit of snowfall, too)!
Thanks WW. I hope the New Year bring you snow and mountains too.
Thanks again, FM!
Let’s hope there’s not too much snow before I find my disposable car.
🙂
Yep got to have that transportation.
Thank you, refinish!
Compliments on your latest designs, btw. The ‘affordability’ design is terrific! One of my favorites.
I do hope to access your podcasts very soon & treat myself to your salty language.
😉
Thanks!!! Well, you better hurry on the podcast as my salty language will be cleaning up with the new year. LOL
You haven’t made one of those ‘resolution’ things in that regard, have you? Oh, dear.
Happy New Year. I’m wishing you a cooler year, or at least less humidity 🙂
I plan to make sure of it, maryb!
A very, very Happy New Year to you! Sounds like you’ve had a wonderful holiday — despite physical nuisances. I’m glad!
spent somewhere with inspiring mountains, fast-flowing rivers, snow-laden forests, and mama cats.
Rest assured that I’ll be continually grateful for your truly amazing photographs in the new year, regardless of my whereabouts!
I’m glad you enjoy them and I certainly enjoy sharing them with you. And I appreciate how much attention you pay to them — it’s very gratifying.
It’s nothing but a pleasure.
As the others have wished for you, I too wish you a safe and speedy return to your woodland wonderland. {{{ww}}}
Thank you so much, Olivia! You’ll be traveling with me there, for sure (as well as the entire pond!) — because I bring your continual good wishes & astounding observance of natural beauty with me.

Happy hour is open.
